Outcast | Circa Las Vegas 2062 | Nicolae & Karin
He looked caught off guard seeing her wonder up to him, she would as well with how she must have look in just the jacket. Staring nervously at him her legs shook a little and she felt ready to collapse from nerves, he was an intimidating man to her wolf half making her feel even more cornered, it would end badly if he tried something. Seeing something in his eyes struggle she titled her head stepping back a little.
"Las Vegas?" she was stunned that she had gotten nearly a whole state over and at his next question she shook her head, âno, thatâs no where close to where I need to be," she whispered then looked at him , âWhatâs your name?" she asked then looked around little trying to figure out what to do.
As he asked if she needed help she shook her head, âNo I would prefer not to burden you ,â she told him and lifted the jacket back over her bare shoulder, âI should go,â she stepped back to return to the ripped pile of clothes to try and back track her way home, âThanks though,â she told him
A wave of guilt washed over Nicolae as the woman turned to leave. It wasn't a feeling he welcomed. You can't just let her go, August insisted inside his head. Yes, thank you, he growled back. He wondered already if this was going to be a decision he regretted, but he sighed and pushed the feeling away.
"Wait," he said, stepping forward and lightly taking the woman's arm. He got the strange sense that it was not a welcome gesture so he let her go. "Um, you can't just wander back into the woods," he said with a nervous chuckle. "I mean, not alone and not...dressed like that," he added, trying to sound chivalrous while trying not to imagine if there was anything under the coat.
He looked away, feeling awkward and then finally said, "My name is Nicolae. I'm not from around here either...as you may have noticed from the accent. I'm a bit broke at the moment, but I was hoping to go down there and see if I could win some poker money. I'm really good at it." He shook his head, not sure why he felt the need to tell her all this. "I just mean, maybe I can help you out; buy you a bus ticket or something if I win enough."
