Magic Frames

Magic Frames is an exciting filmmaking project funded by the BFI's First Light Movies Initiative. The project will see four groups of children from schools across Kirklees make and promote their own films with the support of professional filmmakers.

The Pirates of Rabbit Doll Island

A vibrant and quirky swashbuckling animated adventure made by young people aged between seven and eight years from Battyeford CE (C) Primary School.

Lumpy Boy

Lumpy Boy and Rabbit Face are the butt of everyone’s jokes, until an unexpected event elevates their status to Superheroes as they seemingly save the school and reinstate ‘normality’.

This film was made by young people aged between nine and ten years from Crossley Fields Junior and Infant School.

The contents of a potting shed come to life in this engaging pixilation animation made by young people aged between five and ten years from Ashbrow School.

Theo's Worries: Netherthong Primary School - We spent today working with Musician Nick Lewis to create music soundtracks for our film. He brought with him a box full of instruments from around the world which we used to create soundscapes and music.
