âIf I didnât know any better,â Draco began, âIâd say you have me under Imperio.â He shook his head, amusement tugging at his lips.  âBecause never before would I have agreed to something like this.â

âYour home?â With a glance behind, her eyes briefly widened. Never in their entire school careers had she stepped foot in or even stood in the vicinity of his home. Would it be the infamous Malfoy Manor? She hadnât a clue. Then he mentioned having a drink. To have a drink with himâŠin his houseâŠNadja wasnât sure if it was worse than leaving her wedding or on the same level. ââŠWe can.â Taking his hand she gave a short nod. âBUT-â She squeezed softly, âis your family here?â Did she fear his parents more than her expectant mother-in-law? No. Was she aware the sight of her in a wedding dress might be a jarring introduction? Of course. âAnd is there fire-whiskey?â
âMy home.â He nodded in agreement, smirking a bit. When she agreed, it took all he had not to pull her into his arms right then and there. He took a step to begin leading her down the path when she spoke again. He shouldnât have been surprised by her question.  âNo,â Draco shook his head, âThis is my own home, not Malfoy Manor. Either, youâre welcome for that or I apologize if youâre disappointed. I moved out of the Manor a couple of years ago. Mother has redecorated, but it still...I wanted a fresh start.â
depayse-flaneuse·:
Nadja couldnât help but snort. âYeah? And what did you find?â She challenged, âI mean, considering you found me standing outside alone on my wedding day and now weâre here- wherever this is.â It would be a lie to say sheâd hadnât fantasized once or twice about if he were to actually show up today, but sheâd always purposefully stopped herself short. âConsidering I basically fled my own wedding to argue with you. Considering itâs the first time Iâve almost cried about something other than my wedding in Merlin knows how long?â Her nose scrunched at her own words hit her. Shit. Shifting her attention away from him she briefly closed her eyes to reign it in.
Before he could answer her, though he didnât have much to go on besides the fact that she had asked him to take them some place, she continued. Her words had him starting at her intently. She had been crying over this wedding? Was it the stress or was it because she didnât want to go through with it?  âYou did ask me to take you away. Weâre just outside of my wards. My home is just beyond those trees.â He explained softly, lifting a hand to motion behind her. âWhy donât we go inside and have something to drink? Settle down a bit. Unless, you want to go back?â He held out his hand to her, hoping she would take it and agree to go with him. But, if she did want to go back and go through with the wedding, he would respect her wishes.

Harry's day had been set to the soundtrack of whispers and gossiping and constant demands for explanations and commentary. Which really wasn't surprising. Harry had, in the moment of panic after Sirius Black's nighttime attack, used the portrait in the common room to call for Snape instead of for McGonagall. Then, sometime after the chaos, he'd left with Snape and had been gone all night and most of Saturday as well. So, there were bound to be questions for him, even if Ron was receiving most of the attention now, as a result of him being the one who was in the center of the attack.
He tried to doge people when he could, but he couldn't avoid everyone, and just as he moved around a gaggle of first years, someone else moved to intercept him. He sighed, but he stopped politely to talk. "Hi."

Hari frowned, looking over his shoulder as though he might be able to spot the hufflepuffs in question, then looked back at Lorant, a little suspiciously. âHow am I? Iâm fine. I mean, I was in a dorm with a convicted mass-murder who has a personal grudge against me and is apparently entirely mad, but aside from that.â He shrugged. âWhat are you actually asking?â
âExactly. Not everyone is used to waking up by such disturbing means.â He pointed out.  âUnless your family also decides two am is a brilliant time to...â Lorant trailed off, shaking his head.  âJust as I asked. Rumor has it, the convict is your god father. I figured, that canât be easy. But, if youâd rather not talk to me, I understand. Slytherin. Hiss. Evil.â He rolled his eyes.  âBut, if you did want to talk, to someone who isnât about to bow down and kiss the ground you walk on, Iâm all ears.â
depayse-flaneuseâ:
The more he talked the more Nadja wanted nothing more than to throttle him. âTa guele!â Shut up! She couldnât take it. âYou think I didnât know what was happening to me? Of course I did, but you donât get to make that call for me!â She snapped. âI still managed even with the rumors because I proved myself during the war. Anyone who thought differently didnât matter because I have the scars to prove it.â Taking a step back she released a shaky breath, trembling fingers combing through dark locks. âIf you regretted it so much then why come now? Why not do something about it instead of me having to come to you?â
She was right, of course. He knew her strengths, she had always been able to handle herself. He should have talked things over with her, gotten her side of things. But no. He had taken the situation into his own hands and made the decision for both of them.  âWhy? I wanted,â He hesitated before sighing as he glanced away. âI needed to see for myself that you were happy.â
depayse-flaneuseâ:
The ease of his answer hit her like a brick wall. Thatâs all it took? Simply asking? Moisture began to build in her eyes, but she quickly blinked it away. âIt wasnât a mistake, itâs justâŠâ She released a steadying breath. âI know I invited you and I know I did it personally, but honestlyâŠseeing you here at my wedding after all these years-â A brief laugh escaped her. âIt makes my blood boil.â
Her response caught him off guard. He wasnât entirely sure what he had been expecting, but it wasnât this. His frown deepened, âAnd what have I done to deserve that?â He winced at his own words and immediately shook his head.  âNo, no. I know...ignoring you wasnât the smartest option. My intentions were honorable, I swear to you.â He held up both hands in a sign of surrender.  âWith everything that was happening, you did not need to be seen with me.â
depayse-flaneuseâ:
Disorientation was an understatement as Nadja steadied herself. âEmâŠright.â Blinking, she stepped away from him to smooth her dress. âI didnât want to be interrupted when I asked why you came today.â The words were abrupt. Initially, she intended sheâd ease into the conversation, but with the clock ticking there was no time for it. âAnd please, try not to feed me some line like the one about why you stepped out.â
He hesitated, despite how she had asked him not to give her some line, a lie. Sighing, he took a step back, running his fingers through his blonde locks.  âHonestly? Because you asked me to.â Draco admitted, grey eyes gazing over at her.  âYou asked me to and so I came. Was it a mistake?â

The last thing Harryâs reputation needed, after the reveal of his adoption (though with the extra rumors flying around, nobody seemed sure of it) was to be disappearing off into dark corners with more slytherins, but he could hold his own against Lorant. And heâd rather not do that, if he ended up having to, in front of a bunch of other people. So, though he hesitated for a moment, he nodded and followed. âWhatâs up? Curious to hear the real story? Because Ron tells it better.â
âPlease.â He scoffed, rolling his eyes.  âIâm sure Weasley exaggerates.â He waved a hand a bit.  âNo, I figured it was either me or the group of Hufflepuffs ready to corner you. But if youâd like, I could always call them in here for you?â He leaned back against the wall, arms crossing over his chest.  âHow are you?â His voice was casual, as if it was a common occurrence to small talk with the other.
crimsonwritâ:Â
Marlene scoffed, pretending offense. âExcuse you, we take care of each other. Sirius and Jay were whispering the whole way back. Pretty sure theyâre on their way to torture that slithery Snape kid again. Theyâre a bit of dicks, arenât they?â When questioned about the alcohol, her lips quirked upward in a proud, mischievous grin. âSure did. All three of usâYou wouldâve hated it. We were very naughty without our dear, quiet Remus. But! I love you, and want you to go down with us, so here.â Shuffling things around in her bookbag for a moment, she lifted a victorious hand in the air, clutching a flask before she passed it off to him. âNow, tell me about this book thatâs got you so enraptured.â
Eyes closing, he couldnât help but pinch the bridge of his nose to try and stop an oncoming headache. And this, this is why he should have actually went with them. At least he could try and distract them. Oddly enough, it wasnât very difficult most times.  âTheyâre...something.â He muttered, lowering his hand. He had barely opened his eyes when he found himself rolling them, snorting in amusement.  âIâm sure you did just fine without me there.â Taking the flask from her, he unscrewed the lid and titled it back, the liquid pouring past his lips. With a grimace, he swallowed and handed the flask back her way.  âItâs about an adventure to destroy an object by an unlikely group.â

While his cousin had an odd obsession with the âBoy-Who-Livedâ in a way that still creeped Lorant out a little, he couldnât deny his own curiosity. There was something about him that intrigued the other. He could understand the fascination of course, but rumors had made it to his ears that the boy hadnât even known he was famous before Hogwarts. If anyone knew anything about trying to live up to a name, it was Lore. Â
When word had spread through the castle about Sirius Black, he found himself looking for Potter. Everyone was asking about it, whispers about the Gryffindor hero calling for Snape instead of his own head of house. He wondered...had anyone thought to ask Potter how he was? Or just demand answers from him like the world owed it? He hadnât meant to actually stop the boy, but somehow he found himself reaching out and tugging on his arm after spotting a determined looking group heading towards the Gryffindor.  âPotter.â He spoke lowly, âa word if you would?â
depayse-flaneuseâ:
Her ears perked up at the sound of approaching voices- one of which being her future mother in law. Half of her mind knew the correct thing to do was send him on his way or even present him as a friend. Unfortunately for Nadja, the other half of her mind wanted to have a very selfish conversation. Before she could fully consider either option she reflexively grabbed his hand, âApparate us.â
Head tilting slightly to one side, he tried to place the approaching voice. Before he could give it much thought, she was taking his hand and demanding the apparate. He should have argued. He should have walked away, and yet he found himself pulling her close and tucking her inside his side. Closing his eyes, he clearly thought of the clearing just outside his wards. While Side-Along was never ideal, he was glad to see they had both made it in one piece. He kept a hand on her, keeping her steady.  âWant to tell me why weâre running?â
crimsonwritâ:
âMOON-AY! WHERE Yâ AT, YOU LITTLE HERMITâ Oh! Hey.â Marching ahead of the rest of the pack, Marlene stormed into Gryffindor tower like a drunken force of nature. She giggled, cleared her throat, and tried to fix her face into an expression not completely glowing with inebriation. Leaning her elbow onto the crest of the oversize armchair, she smiled down at him and nodded at the book. âIâd say Iâm sorry we left you behind, but by the looks of it youâve been on some big adventure in that book. Whatcha reading?â
Ah, no longer did he need to wonder. If one waited around long enough, someone always found him.  âTell me no on is dead or in detention.â He glanced up, an eyebrow raised.  âI was perfectly content with my book thank you very much. Itâs a muggle novel, quite interesting. Now, answer me.â He tucked the book against his side, shifting a bit to give Marlene is full attention.  âAnd where the fuck did you get the alcohol? I thought...â He sighed, âHave you been to Hogsmeade?âÂ
Remus wasnât sure how long he had been siting there by the fire place reading. The last he remembered, Sirius had been begging him to join him and James with a new prank. Remus wasnât in the mood to take points away from his own House, or act as look out. At least this way he could honestly tell McGonagall that he knew nothing about their plan. Lifting his head, he glanced around a bit, a little shocked heâd been left alone for so long...it was also worrying. Closing his book, he rolled his head a bit to try and ease the ache in his neck and shoulders.
...I did it
Me: Wants to make a Remus Lupin muse
Also me: no one really interacts with me here...
Me: May make a Moon muse because...yes...

Nadja released a steadying breath, the rhythmic clicking of heels on stone dulled by racing thoughts. Marriage had never been something she considered possible for herself. In truth, her relationship with her fiancĂ© had been something a whirlwind. The proposal had come as a shock with social pressures backing her into a corner. She felt sheâd be considered ungrateful is she hadnât agreed immediately. After all, to be married and have childrenâŠThat was the proper way, right?
A series of knots formed in her stomach.
Glancing at the church she highly doubted personally delivering an invitation to yourâŠwell, he was technically just a friend from her school days. Thinking back she hadnât a clue why sheâd done it or why heâd agreed. It didnât matter though. It was her wedding day and she was about to walk down the aisle. âYou can do this Nadja.â The words were barely a whisper. After surviving the wizarding war marriage should be a piece of cake! The thought elicited a genuine smile as she moved to enter the church only to find herself face to face with Draco.
For a moment she merely stared. Nadja would have been lying to say sheâd thought heâd actually attend. âEmâŠI-I am ready. I wanted some air, is all.â Her hands waved in an attempt to distract from her panic. âBut what are you doing here? Shouldnât you be in your seat?â Or even back at home? Â
He raised a single brow, watching her closely. Â âAir?â Â Slowly he nodded, though something told him not to believe her. Â âCooling charms can work wonders.â Â He added, shifting from one foot to the other even as he mentally scolded himself for fidgeting. Â Malfoys did not fidget; no matter the situation.
âI only stepped out for a moment. Â You see, being as charming and handsome as I, I was drawing attention away from the wedding.â Â He lied. Â Really he had been on the receiving end of far too many glares and stares, judging him for attending. Â You would think that since the war had ended and he had been proven not guilty that people would find something, someone else, to gossip about. Â
âNadja,â he hesitated for a moment. Â âDo you want me to leave you here? Â Let you have a moment alone to get your...air?â Â He offered. Â âOr do you need a listening ear?â
Aint Gonna Marry Me
Draco wasn't sure why he had accepted the invitation to the wedding. It was foolish and a bit masochistic. He had been in love with the other for years, since Hogwarts. They had never judged him for being a Malfoy, a Slytherin. They saw through the hard exterior and before he knew it, Draco was in love. But they had been at war and he refused to endanger them more by becoming involved with him. Some how...they had survived. The Light had won and now...now the other was getting married and he wasn't to him. He had been too late, too much of a coward to confess his feelings.
But because of this, he hadn't wanted to disappoint the other. Especially not when they had hand delivered the invitation instead of letting it arrive by owl. So here he was, standing in the back, wearing his best dress robes and using a flask to take a long shot of Fire Whiskey. He glanced around, ignoring the whispers and glares when someone realized who he was. He was used to those by now.
Just before the service was to began, he couldn't take it any longer. His resolve was wavering and he was not about to let his emotions get the best of him in public. Sneaking out the back, he made his way outside...only to almost run into...them. His eyes widened slightly as he looked them over. "Shouldn't you be getting ready to walk down the aisle?" He wondered.
