Remus wasn’t sure how long he had been siting there by the fire place reading. The last he remembered, Sirius had been begging him to join him and James with a new prank. Remus wasn’t in the mood to take points away from his own House, or act as look out. At least this way he could honestly tell McGonagall that he knew nothing about their plan. Lifting his head, he glanced around a bit, a little shocked he’d been left alone for so long...it was also worrying. Closing his book, he rolled his head a bit to try and ease the ache in his neck and shoulders.
Elena sat at her desk with her nose buried in her novel. She was supposed to be finishing up her parchment on transfiguration and the beginnings of animagi, but her book had captured her. It was part of why she hadn't noticed anyone join her. Startled briefly, Ellie blushed glancing up at her company. "Oh... hi? Sorry.... did you want something?"
Godric had been up in the astronomy tower preparing for a spell. If the signs were correct then the planets were aligning with certain celestial bodies. Salazar had left and as far as he knew he was dead and Helga and Rowena both died of old age with Helena also dead. Those he cared about most deeply were already dead. It was a terrible pain. That was until he noticed the alignment when he could try one last spell and he would die one way or another. Godric was a fighter and he wanted to live in another age. Perhaps teach again as he had been doing and see the advancement of his world. Even if he only lived a short time as the strain on his body may be too much He wanted to travel through time.
Pulling out a vial of potion after having one teacher there to move his body to his chambers should he fail and should he succeed he was to say that he left to travel the world before the end came. Drinking the silvery liquid in one gulp he looked up to the stars he looked down and holding his wand in hand as well as his sword. he began brandishing his wand as sparks came out and with a step off the ledge he began falling and falling as the sparks surrounded him and then he was gone. The wizard did as was told and as far as magical record was concerned Godric Gryffindor left Hogwarts and was not seen again.
Over a thousand years passed before just above the ground by the astronomy tower a silver light appeared and Godric landed on the ground. He looked around seeing it was dark and almost exactly as he had left. Though the courtyard seemed a little different. He looked around for the teacher he had left on the ground as he looked around. It seemed oddly quiet. The centaurs were not chanting to the moon. Then he raised his arm and was going to stretch out a little but then he saw his skin he was tight and not wrinkled. He ran his free hand over his face now this was not a side effect that he had comprehended. The spell had not worked exactly as he had thought/ he was in the same place though young again. Now it was time to figure out when he was.
The grounds were soaked and muddy from the previous night’s rain; the clouds were still overhead but clearing slowly, and the birds were starting to wake up and chirp good morning to their neighbors. Except for them, the grounds were quiet. Kiri had been up for quite a while now, having just returned from her bi-weekly run halfway around the lake. She wasn’t feeling very hungry yet, so she stayed outside in the windy cold, just wandering. She had stopped by the lake to watch the little duck swimming around, the Whomping Willow fighting off an umbrella the wind had blown too close; she had even been up to visit the owlery to visit Trenton's pet. Still slightly bored, but not expecting anyone else to be up so early who could entertain her, Kiri wandered off toward the quidditch pitch, hoping to perhaps find enjoyment in something there.
On her way she way she watched a few gnomes being chased by a pair of cats and she couldn’t help but laugh. The gnomes were quite winded, the cats hot on their tails, and as soon as they saw her laughing the gnomes burst out in a string of breathless profanities. Pitying their fruitless effort to escape, Kiri jogged over toward the cats, who scattered immediately. The gnomes stopped running and collapsed, trying to catch their breath. "Goodye, little gnomes," Kiri smiled at them and continued on, happily kicking along a rock in the grass as she went.
A few minutes later she reached the pitch. Wandering still, she made her way toward the goalposts on the far end of the field. The sand was soggy and packed down, and she amused herself for while by writing her name in it with the toe of her sneaker. No sooner had she finished writing it out in giant bubble letters when a soft squelching noise alerted her to the presence of somebody else on the field, and very near her.
