hey hi, just need to get some uni related moaning off my chest

someone in the second year of my course at uni has covid so all our tutors have to isolate meaning all our lessons have to go online for the next two weeks and... i’m okay with that to an extent because i can just sit around in joggers all day, not having to get dressed or go into town and spend money... but also fuck spending £9k a year for zoom calls! i can’t stand zoom calls or teams meetings because the connection is always terrible, everyone always speaks over each other or gets chopped u and delayed, and the whole thing is so fragmented, it puts my teeth on edge

also, in further uni whinging, i’m really feeling the negatives of still living at home and not going in halls. granted, if i was in halls rn, i’d be in a veritable petri dish and somehow end up catching COVID 9000, but at the same time, it’s a kick in the nuts to see my coursemates a) roll out of bed and into class, when i need to get up two hours before it starts to make it (this is just me being bitter) and b) being able to hang out with each other with ease. i already feel like the outsider being The Mature Student™, but idk, i just feel like i’m missing out on the whole socialisation side of uni. it’s a minor thing, but it was one of the things that swayed me to actually go back for a third time.

also, there’s this course called where we have to interact and work on a project with people on other courses and it’s just the fucking worst. trying to get a bunch of 18/19 year olds up at 9am on a wednesday morning is hard enough, but forcing them to do bullshit team-building exercises is impossible. doesn’t help that i’m stuck in a really laddish group. and the idea is we’ve got to meet up and form bonds during the week between sessions and like... how the fuck are we doing that when the city’s on semi-lockdown??? also, it doesn’t even count towards my course credits, and i don’t think my course has to do it after this year, so it feels incredibly stupid! let me have my wednesday lie-in!
