Hello everyone! My name is Xen. I recently got into Charisma House this year.
As far as fandom activities go, I like to edit on the Charisma House Wiki, draw, collect merch, and translate sometimes. I am still learning Japanese, so please keep that in mind.
Please do not interact if you engage or tolerate shipping extremely distressing dynamics. Respect my boundaries, thank you.

The Case File of Charisma House ~ Missing Whistle of Order ~ ENGLISH TRANSLATION
"You wonāt be able to slip past the Great Detective Rikai! It will be my lifeās work to find the culprit!" šµļø
Hi everyone! This is my first formal song translation. My proofers and I put a lot of thought into it, so I hope you all enjoy. It was a lot of fun. Be sure to check out the translator's notes underneath the lyrics!

Rikai: A heinous incident has occurred within this sharehouse
I, Rikai Kusanagi, have had my whistle, my peerless companionā¦
Stolen by someone in this house
Who in the world would do this⦠For what trivial reasonā¦ā¦?
Suspects have arisen within my line of investigation
Those of whom currently lack solid alibis, disclosed as Suspect T and F
You wonāt be able to slip past the Great Detective Rikai! It will be my lifeās work to find the culprit!
Let us begin with Suspect T. You may state your case
Terra: There are no flaws in the universeās most beloved gem
Anytime, and anywhere
A rendezvous with my reflections where Iām hooked in a trance by my dearest Terra-kun
Rikai: My suspicions are only growing deeper, my aim is now fixed towards you
Terra: Holding up that relentless glare of yours
Rikai: I declare you guilty
Terra: Iām indisputably innocent
Rikai: Eureka! āThatās right, the culprit is Terra-san!ā
Terra: āYouāre dead wrong.ā
Let us uncover the truth!
Lie-lie-lie The ā Cutting Edge Cross-Examination between the Lies and the Truth
Terra: Turning the tables in this heated game of chess
Try-try-try and prove youāre not guilty of perjury
Rikai: Are you guilty?
Terra: Or innocent?
With these hands of mine
Are you ready?
Iāll take my shot at the thieving culprit
Terra: Feigning ignorance to the end, arenāt you, T? However, itās true that I havenāt put together all the pieces of this puzzle. Suspect F, youāre up next.
Fumiya: The limited-time desserts I wanted were sold out
Cruising on my moped until then, straight up just hung out
Huh, after that? Donāt have much to say, really
The day went by like a blur
Then, traffic eventually began to let up. Thatās all
Rikai: My suspicions are only growing deeper, my aim is now fixed towards you
Fumiya: Keeping up that questioning glare of yours
Rikai: I declare you guilty
Fumiya: No way, Iām innocent
Rikai: Eureka! āThatās right, the culprit is Fumiya-san!ā
Fumiya: āSeriously, you got it all wrong.ā
Let us uncover the truth!
Lie-lie-lie The ā Cutting Edge Cross-Examination between the Lies and the Truth
Fumiya: Turning the tables in this heated game of chess
Try-try-try and prove youāre not guilty of perjury
Rikai: Are you guilty?
Fumiya: Or innocent?
With these hands of mine
Are you ready?
Iāll take my shot at the thieving culprit
Fumiya: Isnāt it your fault that you let something so important get stolen?
Terra: Come to think of it, it wouldnāt be outlandish if you just misplaced it, Rikai-kun.
Fumiya: Itās about time you interrogate yourself, isnāt that right, Suspect R?
Rikai: Youāre falsely accusing me to be⦠Suspect R!? Cease this drivel!
Let us uncover the truth!
Lie-lie-lie The ā Cutting Edge Cross-Examination between the Lies and the Truth
Rikai: Turning the tables in this heated game of chess
Try-try-try and prove you arenāt guilty of perjury
Fumiya: Heās definitely guilty
Terra: Heās been caught red-handed, huh?
Rikai: I sentence myself as innocent!
In the endā¦
There can only be one piece to complete this puzzle
Terra: Oh? Whatās that sitting on top of the table?
Fumiya: Isnāt thatā¦
Rikai: My whistle!?
Terra: āYour devoted slave decided to clean your soiled whistle, without a single speck in sight! With love, Ioriā
Rikai: Always so thoughtful, Iori-san! Case closed, everyone!
Terra: Seriously? I was innocent from the start, anyway.
Fumiya: I was beginning to feel like I was actually guilty
Rikai: Order is all green
Translatorās Notes
äøć ēŗę¢ (chouchou hasshi) is the kanji used for the main chorus lyric āLie-lie-lie The ā Cutting Edge Cross-Examination between the Lies and the Truthā. äøć ēŗę¢ essentially means swords clashing together in a fight or a heated argument. I decided to translate it as cross-examination to provide the image of them battling each other within a trial to prove their innocence! Or, through the Great Detective Rikaiās eyes, to finally get one of them to cough up a confession. Cutting edge is used to describe it to preserve the āclashing swordsā meaning. Their arguments cut deep⦠like swords!? Even if itās silly in hindsight, every aspect of this song blows the scene out of proportion! Iām really proud of this line, I hope you like it!
ē¤äø means on top of a board, primarily for a board game like shogi. This is seen in the following main chorus lyric āTurning the tables in this heated game of chessā. Given the detective theme, I decided to translate it as if Rikai is desperately trying to checkmate his potential culprit! I thought itād fit nicely.
You may notice a few puzzle references in the lyrics. There are two specific lyrics that use puzzle semantics, like āHowever, itās true that I havenāt put together all the pieces of this puzzle.ā where its literal translation is, āFeigning ignorance to the end, arenāt you, T? However, it's true that I still lack conclusive evidence. Suspect F, you're up next" (Courtesy of Verdantgrove for the huge help on this one) And āIn the end⦠/ There can only be one piece to complete this puzzleā where its literal translation is āIn the end⦠/ There can only be one truth behind it allā I thought it would be a fun tidbit to translate it this way, you can imagine Rikai solving this case like a puzzle⦠Also, I must note that the CDās inner sleeve has color-coded sections for Rikai, Terra, and Fumiya. They have different background patterns and Rikaiās contains puzzle pieces! That was my main motivation to make this work.
ē §ęŗ (Shojuun) and ēŖćć¤ćć (Tsuki tsukeru) mean to aim a gun and to point (a gun) respectively. ēŖćć¤ćć could also mean to point fingers. They are seen in the lyrics āMy suspicions are only growing deeper, my aim is now fixed towards youā and āIāll take my shot at the thieving culpritā. They essentially compliment each other where ēŖćć¤ćć is a direct callback to ē §ęŗ. Now, letās all gather around and think about how Rikai onii-san is potentially going to shoot us outback⦠:( Well⦠thereās gun imagery but you can also imagine them pointing accusatory finger guns at each other, haha
The final lyrics of the song āSeriously? I was innocent from the start, anyway.ā (ćÆ?ē½ćć, Ha? Shirakeru) and āI was beginning to feel like I was actually guiltyā (é»ćę°ęć”ć«ćŖć£ć, Kuroi kimochi ni natta) are puns referring to the amounting ē½é» (White/Black) mentions. ē½ (Shiro) is the color white, however, within this context, itās used to describe innocence. Same applies with é» (Kuro), where it means guilty. Could also be translated to āthe blackenedā as well. Unfortunately, the pun and ē½é» colored meanings are not noticeable throughout this translation. I couldnāt think of a way to incorporate it since I wanted to prioritize flow and localizing. If someone else translates this song and is able to do so, I would be so thrilled to read it!!!
Rikai referring to himself as åę¢åµ (Meitantei), or Great Detective, could potentially be a Detective Conan reference. Although this term exists generally, its usage was popularized by the series.
Thank you so much for reading this translation! This is my first formal song translation and Iām extremely happy that it was this song! It was so fun, Iām proud of how it turned out⦠The moment I listened to it, I instantly fell in love. Thank you to Verdantgrove and Elegy for all the help with Japanese/English proofreading! This seriously couldnāt have been done without them, so Iām incredibly grateful.
