Shuffling through the pages of the paper spread before her on the table, Natalie reached for her coffee as she sipped it and inspected them. On a whim, she had gone into some second hand store, or maybe it was an antique shop. Anyway, in the back she found this portfolio with a bunch of drawings, sketches and some paintings. She had bought them but she couldn’t really explain why. Feeling someone come up behind her, Natalie didn’t look up and instead kept her gaze on the papers. “What do you think of them?”
Mak hadn’t expected to make her way into the antique store, but some lamp in the window had caught her eye. But when she took a better look at it, it wasn’t worth the money. So, she idly wandered the aisles a moment. Looking over a couple framed paintings, she stopped when she saw Natalie leafing through something. Curiosity took over as she tried to take a peak. When Nat seemed to notice, Mak paused a second to consider the question. “They’re really detailed. Like, someone truly took care to get them perfect.”

Covaire seemed almost foreign now after her travels with Alexander. It held no candle to france, and despite wanting desperately to go back, the exhaustion she feltf rom the entirety of the trip was making her bones ache. Today, her final day off before returning to work the next, she was sat under the shadiest tree she could find, a small stack of three books beside her on the blanket she sat, and a fresh ice tea right beside that. Just as she went to reach for the first novel on top, she noticed the figure approaching, and squinted up at them slightly to keep her eyes out of the sun, “Hello..”
Mak was enjoying a quiet jog in the park. Having never enjoyed the effort it took to be active as a human, she took advantage of wolf stamina to attempt to keep in shape. Plus, jogging seemed much easier now. Headphones in, she was just about to surpass a tree she’d marked as her starting point. Seeing a familiar figure reading, it distracted her. She slowed her pace, slowly making her way over. Brown eyes scanned the stack. “Hey..reading anything good?”

Ahohako was lost in thought as he walked toward his apartment, already running through the list of things he would need to get and people he wanted to see. A subtly familiar scent wafted to his nose, and Ahohako looked up, his eyes falling on a familiar figure. “Mak,” he grinned as he made the detour toward her, wrapping her up in his arms. “My, my, my,” he growled suddenly as his brain made the connection between her and the change in her scent. “Someone smells decidedly… wolfy.”
Mak was happy to see the familiar face back in the city, smiling as he made his way over. She gave a chuckle, allowing herself to be wrapped in the wolfs big hug. “Hey, you! Welcome back!” Tilting her head back, she looked up his large frame. “Yeah...bout that. Kind of a surprise, huh?”

Alexander cleared his throat and motioned to his face, an amused smile on his lips. “Eyes are up here Mak, do try to focus.” He teased, eyeing the bag and drink she had in hand. “And you don’t know who ordered it for me? That’s a tad sketchy.” He took the drink and bag from her, setting the bag down on his desk even as he took a drink from the cup, nodding. “Not bad.”
Mak met his eyes with a raised brow, chuckling. “I was just admiring the outfit?” The pup handed him the bag and beverage, shaking her head as he set it aside. “Nope, he simply ordered it to be delivered to you and, well, insisted I make sure it was perfect and not tampered with. Maybe someone looking to get hired or laid?” She offered a smile as he seemed please. “Well, glad it didn’t disappoint.”

Mak gave a nod. “Maybe. Not sure if an escort can even gamble around here.” It was true, she never even tried to venture to the Casino here. No point in doing so. Mak offered a smile and nodded. “Nice. Yeah, it’s hard to pin point a certain genre, but I do enjoy many different songs.”

She made it herself, the aroma mouth watering, and even through in a free pastry. After all, it was Alex. She’d been walking through the hall when someone approached and guided her towards Alex’s office, saying he was out and she could leave it on his desk. But when she went in, the room was occupied. “Well, this is awkward.”
Alexander finished up the buttons and finally turned to look at Mak, raising an eyebrow as he took in the sight of her and the bag in her hand. “Did you need something Mak or are you just going to stand there like a deer in the headlights?” He asked, his voice holding a note of amusement. He rolled up the sleeves of shirt and turned his attention back to the mirror as he fixed up his tie, making sure it looked perfect. Once he was finished he turned back to her and waited to hear an explanation.
Mak quirked a brow, eyeing him over once, before holding up a macchiato in one hand and blood muffin and wrap in the bag in the other. “Making an unusual delivery. Someone ordered this for you. Not poisoned nor vervained, I did make it all myself.” She chuckled.

It had been a long time since he had been back to Covaire. It had been so long in fact, that slavery had still been the way things were ran. Imagine his surprise when he had gotten word that that was no longer the case and that in its place was a high class brothel. Either way, it was long past time for Ahohako to return, and so he set back out on his outrigger canoe for the trip back to Covaire.
The sun was warm on his bare skin and the winds just right to guide his canoe back to its old spot on the dock. It didn’t take him long to get his canoe packed away and soon he was standing on the dock clad in only his shorts, his shoes and shirt both tucked away inside his bag in case he needed them. Shrugging his belongings up onto his should, Ahohako started down the street in the direction of his apartment.
Mak had been well on her way back from grocery shopping, bags loaded with an abundance of raw meets and veggies. She’d eaten a couple hours ago and already she was hungry again. This wolf appetite things was still something to adjust to. As made her way to Le Bordel, a familiar figure caught her eye and she couldn’t help but stop and tilt her head as he walked in her direction.

Her face looked familiar, although that was one of the downsides to frequenting the same spot on the same nights. Blast her father for always having such a consistent schedule. Mak laughed, hoping the girl wouldn’t take offense and hopefully relax some. “Fair enough. You’re right, some here really get irritated if a perfectly good table is occupied by someone not eating or drinking.”
