LOCATION: Reynold’s Ranch WHO: @judgercnolds
There was an unsettling feeling overcoming Gus when he sent his son out of the house after their discussion. The man could hardly stomach looking at his eldest after everything. All he could hope for was that his boy listened and took heed in his words, because things were about to change on the ranch whether Holden liked it or not.
As he sat there in the empty living room, he knew he should head upstairs and try to salvage what he could of the night. But the bourbon beckoned him and he headed into his den and placed an old vinyl on. Sitting there in his leather chair, he thought about his own father and what a tough son of a bitch he was on him. But it made him strong, it made him a man. And looking at his nearing forty son, all he saw was a boy not ready to be a man.
Several drinks later, he headed upstairs to the bedroom. Quietly, he crawled into bed and gently placed his hand on his wife’s shoulder. “Are you awake?” He questioned in a whisper, not wanting to disturb her slumber if she was sleeping. But if she wasn’t, he at least wanted to check on her. A whole event she had been planning for months going up in smoke. The humiliation was there, but the judge and rancher would keep their heads held high.
