@maldoria
Iâm alive! Iâve actually not done much knitting in the last few months as my back has been giving me lots of problems which in turn has radiated to my legs and arms. But here is one thing Iâve successfully finished.Â
I wish I had more of the green to work with and I might hold off washing and blocking for awhile till I can get my hands on some more and just back off the bind off and keep going. Iâm in no hurry to wear it at least seeing as itâs been 100+ degrees for over a month kill me.Â
I won yarn chicken with the green with 18 inches to spare. Probably my closest call to date.Â
I really liked this pattern though. Iâve used two of Ambahâs designs now and both were so much fun and easy to folllow. (charts AND written pattern!) Looking forward to when I can afford to purchase more in the future.Â
Iâve actually already started a worsted rainbow version with the yarn my Aussie friend sent me for my birthday.Â

STICK A FORK IN IT. THIS SUCKER IS DONE! This pattern (and one with the original Eevees) is available at @8.bit.stitchâs Etsy store (link is on her profile).

Blanket and pattern for sale on my etsy shop soonâŠ
asd;kajsd. Theyâre back. I want this shoe so bad someone give $120 pls.
After 3 months, countless hours, four needle changes (cord size please), marathons of every show/documentary Iâve ever wanted to watch, endless hand/wrist/arm/shoulder pains, days of âoh god I canât even look at you anymoreâ, and one horrible broken needle incident that led to duct taping over and over till the last moment, its finally done.
All the yarn from this blanket was hand spun around six to seven years ago when I was first learning to spin. Some of it is left over from hats and scarves, some of it left to languish in drawers and boxes because it just âwasnât good enoughâ. Over-spun, under-spun, crazy shedding, ugly as sin, plied the wrong way (oops), beautiful but short bits, its all come together to make this beautiful monstrosity.
A little under 6ft from one side to the other. A total of 987 stitches as of cast off. I honestly wish I had kept track of yardage just for curiosityâs sake Fiber contents : merino, bfl wensleydale, romney, bamboo, tencel, angora rabbit, llama, silk, alpaca, angelina, mohair, recycled denim, soy silk.Â
This is an album with some great closeups of all the different yarn that went into this. It would mean so much if youâd take a look and let me know what you think <3 This project has been a real security blanket (ha) for me the past couple months while Iâve dealt with some really bad depression. And while its both kind of sad and yet a total relief to complete it, its wonderful to finally have a sense of having accomplished something. Just looking at it helps me feel like more than a lazy toad just sitting here all day doing nothing but moving my hands, watching shows and crying.Â
Itâs so nice to have something to be proud of for a change.
I currently have five different projects on the needles and all I can think of is âI want to make another blanket.â
ITSSOBEAUTIFUL.Â
And it needs to be washed. I canât wait till weâre in a nice clean place again so I can wash this in the tub and dry it on the balcony.Â
When you knit half a set of gloves but canât remember the name and didnât remember to add it to your library or favorites or your projects on Ravelry.
I have over 150 pdfs in my patterns folder someone send help.Â
One of my best internet friends was badgering me about getting me another birthday present (he already got me the Lego Avengers game just before my birthday). After much whining I gave in and linked him my Knit Picks wish list and oh. my. god.Â
He is the sweetest kid on the planet, jfc.Â
I need to get myself in gear and finish the charts for the Deadpool emoji hat Iâve been working on for him.Â
Those patterns that are like âGreat for using up that one skein of variegated yarn you just donât know what to do with!â
Like first of all Cassandra, you donât know my life. Second of all there is no such thing as a pattern for variegated yarn, only patterns that look slightly less shit in variegated yarn. Third how dare you accuse me of having only one skein of variegate. Iâll have you know I own at least twenty.Â
When its your birthday and you canât eat your birthday dinner because your tooth hurts.Â
When its the day after your birthday and you wake up and your face is swollen and five vicodin later and you can still feel the pain.Â
When you canât even cry because it just makes it hurt more.
When you only got $100 to your name and need emergency dental surgery.Â
Working on charts for a fair isle Deadpool hat, go to save it, clears the screen and resets it. W H Y.Â
At least it only took me 10 minutes to redo it. But stitch fiddle please. Donât do me like this.
I came out of the womb with a busted up eye looking like an underbaked potato and ready to fight people and honestly in 31 years not much has changed.Â

Throwback from my Harry Potter nerd days.Â
Back when I was young, dumb, and had a really good paying job, I used to spend insane amounts of money on Etsy for the reasons previously mentioned. Had I known then what I know now of course I wouldnât have but alas.Â
At least some nice things came from it, like these! I bought these back in 2007 from a shop that sadly no longer exists. ( windtwirler was the username, because I always credit) Theyâre the cutest little hand-crocheted radish earrings styled after Luna Lovegoodâs earrings. It also came with a butterbeer cork necklace that sadly I havenât found yet but it was equally as adoreable. Theyâre super light weight and comfortable and way cuter in person than in my shitty photo.Â
Since, at age 30, somehow I still havenât graduated to grownup jewelry these are one of my FAVORITE pairs of earrings.Â
If youâre looking for a pair of your own I found some here on etsy that are quite similar! And if you can crochet there is also a free pattern on Ravelry to make your own.Â
Miitomo is cute and all but I feel like I would enjoy it a lot more if you know, I actually had friends. Way to make lonely people feel worse Nintendo. :P
This tiny little monotone double of me is gonna learn everything about my sad pathetic life
When you sit down to knit stuff but end up browsing Ravelry patterns for 3 hours instead.
