The Keggs “To Find Out”
file this post under: the best goddamned songs ever category. The Keggs released one 45 ever and it is a slice of perfect raw as fuck garage rock gold. hailing from the place where all great garage rock is born, Detroit, legend has that only like 75 copies were ever pressed of the group’s only single and most were burned in a house fire. the band’s lead singer was then decapitated in a motorcycle crash or maybe it was the guitarist…regardless decapitation was involved. and that was that. time passed on and then the songs got issued on those Back From The Grave comps Crypt Records. the A-side “To Find Out” is right up there with “Psycho” by The Sonics and Bunker Hill’s “The Girl Can’t Dance” on my list of rawest rock & roll singles. when you listen to it you’ll probably think to yourself that the Black Lips should be paying these dudes some royalties. the B-Side “Girl” is equally excellent. hunt these tracks down and add them to your library.
