What do you think about the glen powell/Sydney Sweeney drama, mama? It’s so obvious they’ve at least hooked up. Which makes me think it’s also obvious that Sam and Cait have. So, duh, they’re together. Wish I had been here from the start!

Good point Anon, and I know there are others. Takes me back to 2014/15. The fans went so crazy for the two of them together in their bits of promo (and the night of the purple dress 😜) It was even encouraged. Until it wasn’t. S & C were both admittedly and proudly single, no matter what she would say later about the crooked timeline, so they didn’t have that gossipy tidbit hanging over them. But they had a series, not a romcom, an established fanbase (a good chunk of which cared more about their book-crush and story than they did about the happiness of two strangers) and had sold their naive souls to the industry as commodities, not individuals. It’s a good comparison for sure. Narrative/Shmarrative. The body language and heart eyes are universal

My apologies to you Anon, and the others left rattling around in an empty inbox. I've been MIA. I skim here enough to not miss any drama and otherwise do my shipping privately. In answer to your question...hope has nothing to do with it. It's a done deal and I'll be happy when the narrative can be put to rest and we (Sam and Cait included) can get on with our lives.

What does another permanent promo season mean?

It’s the time of year when anyone with anything PR related to push kicks it into high gear. We play a few rounds of “I’m not there. I’m here”. Interviewers and “good friends” start saying eye-rollie things. And we can be on the lookout for foreheads and back moles in unlikely places.

Sorry Anon, I haven’t been paying much attention lately. Unless you know something I don’t know though, I don’t expect them to play at a public divorce. Why rile up the masses again to undo a perfectly good narrative when it’s still serving it’s purpose? 🤷‍♀️. Cait doesn’t deserve to be saddled with the reputation of having married a deadbeat that she cheated on with her costar…and you know that’s where it would go. I expect either a coming clean when this is all over, or total silence. JMO.

The men in Suits don’t want us to ship. Neither do the Taits, the Only’s, or the Mommies. If it weren’t for those people I don’t even think Sam or Cait would care, especially Sam. But it’s neither here nor there in this case. They have a couple of paths out…they are two bff’s sharing poignant news, they’re in costume so obviously that is Jamie and Claire, not Sam and Cait…take your pick.

How do you feel about this last season announcement mama ?

Logically? Surprised that we’re getting an eighth season but happy for them all that it’s being announced as ‘eighth and final’ instead of just a cancellation. Closure will be nice. Personally? The same way I used to feel looking at my annual pension statement and seeing my earliest possible retirement date so far in the future… I just keep doing this, whatever it’s called, until then….sigh. But oh well. What’s another couple of years🤷‍♀️

Related, would anything really make you question the situation (I’m a shipper too, so asking that more from the perspective of doubt, not how the “other side” is always like, “what’s wrong with you, will nothing ever convince you???”). Oh definitely more of the same bs. It feels like the kind of thing they would generically shoot in August and have in a drawer handy just in case, you know, Sam was accidentally caught on video acting all son-in-law'ish at a family funeral or something. (Isn't this the same Irish tabloid that had a photographer stationed on a random Irish street corner the day that Cait and the music producing maestro happened to skip past, caught innocently out on a day of shopping?) It's hard to believe that this gem has been sitting unnoticed since August, but... who knows? If that's the case and it's being dropped now it's a piss poor piece of PR work. All it's accomplished is a resurgence of the funeral clips and the Gregor Mendel anons.

And no, there's nothing that would make me question the situation. I've seen too much. I'm sick of the narrative and frankly kind of bored with the whole experience, so I've invented a stage beyond Zen shipping that I call Shadow shipping. It's less time consuming and makes me less grumpy.
