If you look at the tail, it curls up inwards tucking it against the belly. This puppy isn’t enjoying itself at all and since it doesn’t look anything over 14 weeks old, it is likely to still be in a very impressionable stage in it’s life.

Maybe you should use a stuffed toy if you want to manipulate a young animals growing (and fragile) limbs.

Cutie young platypus!

It’s not easy to see platypuses in the wild - their shy nature tends to keep them hidden. The easiest places to see the semi-aquatic monotremes are streams and rivers, lakes and ponds, typically around early mornings and evenings.

Persistence pays off, as photographers Larry Dalton and Laura Romin found when they captured this inquisitive youngster outside its den.
