Cody: General, with all due respect, you can’t just run into danger alone.
Obi-Wan: Watch me.
Cody: I am watching you. That’s the problem.
Don’t let fake fans tell you different, Trek has always been queer 🏳️🌈🪐🚀
the real reason that it took multiple years for Obi-Wan's ghost to direct Luke to Dagobah for further training with Yoda was that Yoda failed to actually tell Obi-Wan where he was planning to go into hiding when they parted at the end of RotS, so Obi-Wan had to spend about a year tracking Yoda down in the Force so he could ask, and then convince Yoda to actually tell him what planet he's on
this takes a while, because it turns out that Yoda is reluctant to admit that he doesn't actually know the name of the planet he's hiding on, because he let the Force guide him to a suitable place for his exile and didn't think to double check the coordinates he entered
once Obi-Wan gets over the impulse to tear out his ghostly hair, he resolves to just check the navigational computer in Yoda's ship to find the coordinates
unfortunately, Yoda admits that he sank the ship he arrived on in the swamp a month after he landed and built his hut
Obi-Wan decides that that's fine actually, since he's a Force ghost and no longer needs to breath and can just go down to the ship to check the logs regardless of its current location
except that the ship has been submerged in the swamp for about 20 years at this point, and the ship has no power, and the computer has been totally waterlogged
at this point, Obi-Wan spends another entire year so furiously frustrated that he is unable to marshal the focus needed to manifest as a Force Ghost at all
once he finally calms down, he spots and identifies a unique subspecies of worm that lives in the swamp, and is able to use the power of his lifelong special interest in worms to instantly determine what planet they're on
he resolves never to tell Luke about any of this, instead insisting that Luke simply wasn't ready yet before he made contact during the battle on Hoth
(it's worth noting that Qui-Gon knew they were on Dagobah the entire time, but didn't speak up because he thought it was funny he was confident that his Padawan would figure it out eventually on his own)
if qui gon had been anakin’s master, anakin prob wouldn’t have gone to the dark side. not necessarily bc he’d been a better master, but bc obi wan would be the cool older bro he’d sneak out w and confide in instead of the fake father figure he felt the constant need to rebel against. ‘palpatine has been asking me to spend time with him…’ ‘NEVER trust a politician. wait, hold. why the kriff is a decrepit thing like him trying to hang out w a 12 year old’ ‘I’m in love w padme. I want to get married!’ ‘u still have a rat tail’
what anakin never gasped was that he already had the chill, cool master that toed the code in his designer boots who took shots on the job, mind tricked locals, encouraged stealing speeders, teased anakin about his crushes, was incredibly vain about his appearance based on the six bottles of hair spray he probably went thru every morning……. if obi wan was a peer / mentor figure it’d be soo much more obvious
master obi wan: you are strong and wise and i am very proud of you <3
anakin: you and your precious jedi code can get fucked
broski obi wan: you are strong and wise and I am very proud of you <3
anakin folding under zero pressure: I’m having nightmares and palpatine tried talking to me again and said dark side would hold the solution to my problems and
No, we're not soulmates. This is not divine intervention. And this is most certainly not chance. I willed this. I knit the threads of fate myself until they spelled your name.
I love you intentionally. I love you with every bit of conscience I was born with.

There she was, his Hermione, sprawled across her desk, exhausted from another sleepless night juggling the duties as the new Minister of Magic. Harry softly ran his fingers over her hair, marveling at how it shone with warm, golden hues from the rays of morning sunlight.
“Sweet dreams, Minister,” he whispered as he picked up her coat and lightly draped it over her shoulders.
It would take time for her to settle into her new duties, but he would be with her every step of the way.

scenarios Alfred Pennyworth has to be a witness to as a resident of Wayne Manor that the batkids have absolutely no shame in front of whatsoever part 23 (masterpost here)
Steph, wandering into the kitchen: hey, Alfie, B says you're doing a grocery shop later today, can i add tampons to the list of stuff for the patrol supplies?
Alfred, glancing over from polishing silverware: of course, Miss Brown. perhaps you'd like to add it to the list on the fridge?
Steph: hm-? oh, yeah, thanks.
Tim, working on his laptop at the kitchen island: the fuck do you need tampons for patrol?
Steph: *squints at him* well i sure as fuck ain't doing it in a pad? do you know how unsafe i would feel?!
Tim, raising an eyebrow: why do you need anything? doesn't it all stop once you start swinging around?
*silence*
Alfred: *pauses, slowly turns his head to stare into the side of Tim's skull*
Steph, calmly: ...what?
Tim: it's like swimming right? you start jumping around and moving a lot and your body recognises that you don't want to bleed, so it stops the flow until you settle down.
Alfred:
Steph:
Steph, keeping her face impressively straight: ...yes. it is- *throat clear* that is why that happens, you're right, it does usually stop on patrol. but- *thinking intensely* i... got a scratch on my thigh... earlier... and it keeps bleeding, has all day. so i'm kinda worried that blood coming out of my thigh will confuse my body, because of- *bites lip* because of the close proximity. and i think it might decide that since my thigh is bleeding that it should just keep all the other flows going as well, so i'm just- i'm just making sure. to be careful.
Alfred: *slowly turns to stare at Steph instead*
Tim:
Tim: ok i guess that makes sense.
Steph, once Tim turns back to his laptop: *gleefully punches the air*
Tim, eyes narrowing: wait,
Steph, the face of innocence: hm?
Tim: how come your body can stop the period blood but not the thigh blood?
Steph: oh. well, that's just a 'me' issue, really. i've never been that good at the whole blood-bending thing.
Alfred: *closes eyes in resignation*
Tim: blood-bending- what?
Steph: blood-bending? the- you know all girls can control their blood flow, right? that's why Avatar only showed women water-benders learning how to blood-bend. because it was already a thing irl.
Tim:
Tim, dubious: ok now you're fucking with me.
Steph, narrowing eyes in confusion: no? dude, i'm being completely serious, did you- how did you not know about this? that's how we control our periods, man. all females have a slight innate ability to bend their own blood. it's just that the extent to which we can varies from person to person and day to day. i've always been kinda weak with it, so i guess that's my bad. Babs has always been pretty good at it, though.
Dick, walking in: 'sup, kiddies. Babs is good at what?
Steph: i was just telling Tim about how all women can blood-bend and that's how they control their periods. can you believe the health education program at his school failed so badly he didn't know?!?
Dick:
Dick:
Dick, turning to Tim: yeah Babs was always really good at it.
Tim: seriously?!!?
Dick, without a hint of humor: 100%. anyway i gotta go, see you guys later.
Steph, perking up: oh, can i get a ride actually? i need a new jacket.
Dick: sure.
Damian, wandering in as Dick and Steph leave: Pennyworth, Jason is requesting he be alerted when you go to the store so he can accompany you.
Alfred, blinking: ...oh- yes, that sounds lovely, i'll be sure to let him know.
Tim, curiously: hey Dami, did you know that women can blood-bend, and that's how they turn off their periods when they go swimming?
Damian:
Damian, plain: you're a fucking idiot.
"Meta are not allowed in Gotham" here and "No one enters in Gotham without permission" there, but what about "everyone wants to stay away from that dumpster of a city as much as possible even when explicitly asked to come"?
-
Bruce: Lantern, I need your help here in Gotham.
Hal: ... You sure?
Bruce: Yeah, alien stuff is usually your field.
Hal: Well yeah, but wathever's wrong with Gotham has less to do with "alien stuff" and more with "hell on earth" stuff, and that's way out of my juristiction. Call Zatanna.
-
Bruce: Arthur, I beg of you.
Arthur: Bruce, I respect and admire you. I consider you a dear friend, but you're asking for too much here.
Bruce: Too much? I just need you to make a little dive in to Gotham's Port waters to see-
Arthur: That's not water anymore, and the creatures inside of whatever that is are not fishes anymore. The motherfucking kraken would not take a dive there!
-
Bruce: J'onn, there is this case I'm working on, I could really use your telepathy.
J'onn: I'm desolated Batman, but I'm not sure it would be right for me to come to Gotham.
Bruce: What? why?
J'onn: My powers detect a certain hostility in the air, an underlaying anger. How would the younger heroes say it?
Bruce: ?
J'onn: Ah yes, I'm getting shitty vibes.
-
Zatanna: No Bruce, sweetie, I'm not coming to Gotham again.
Bruce: Do you mind explaining why?
Zatanna: Last time the city demanded I made a blood pact of allegiance to her trough unconventional means. With all due respect Bruce, using sex with you as a method to make magical pacts involving eternal loyalty is kind of obsolete. You have to establish some boundaries.
Bruce: ...
Bruce: I need so many explanations.
-
Bruce: Honestly Clark, I expected a bit better from you.
Clark: I'm sorry Bruce, I really am, but never in my life have I had to be so careful with my powers as I have to in Gotham. It's so stressfull.
Bruce: I don't get it.
Clark: People there get out of their way to bump into eachother! Is it a way to establish dominance or something? Why do they have to smash their shoulders into mine? Then I feel guilty for breaking their bones! Not to talk about the non existent respect for traffic laws! Are your insurances so good you can afford to drive like you want to run over somebody? And oh, the things I see with my heat vision! why are your sewers full of DEAD BODIES-
Bruce: Okay, I get it.
-
Bruce: Diana-
Diana: No.
Bruce: But-
Diana: No. I grew up on a Greek Island. One more day in Dracula's lair and the lack of sunlight and breathable air will kill me faster than any villain.
one day you think: I want to die. and then you think, very quietly: actually. actually. I think I want a coffee. a nap. a sandwich. a book. and I want to die turns day by day into want to go home, I want to walk in the woods, I want to see my friend, I want to sit in the sun, I want a cleaner kitchen, I want a better job, I want to live somewhere else. I want to live.

Having some Codywan thoughts based off of @raphaerolo's recent art of tired gremlin Obi-Wan.
Just imagine Obi-Wan is a rumpled mess. He's tired. His eye bags have eye bags. His clothes aren't put together or neat--his robes and tunics are threatening to fall off his shoulder. His clothes have burns, and one sleeve is still smoking a little. He's missing a boot. Maybe he even has a small cold. He looks like a little creature and just flops down on the nearest surface.
And then Cody finds him.
Cody is also tired and worn out. His armor is all dinged up and dirty. Both greaves are cracked. The visor on his helmet is shattered and his pauldron antenna is drooping sadly. He's got a black eye. His blood is mostly caf but he still looks dead on his feet.
They stare at each other for a second and wordlessly, Obi-Wan scoots over. Cody flops down next to him. It's not sweet or cute, they're just tired little dudes face down on the floor next to each other looking like they got run over. Cody gathers enough energy to pat Obi-Wan's smoking sleeve to put out the fire. Obi-Wan attempts to give Cody a ration bar from his belt when Cody's stomach lets out a rumble--he sort of succeeds. Cody has a wrapped ration bar laying on his head.
They go back to laying face down on the floor motionless. The ration bar teeters precariously on Cody's head before falling to the floor with a sad little smack. They don't fall asleep, instead just staring off into the void.
Eventually someone finds them, one of Cody's brothers. They start balancing ration bars on Cody's head because that's what little brothers do. (They use Obi-Wan's bar as a base.) Cody's too tired to care. Obi-Wan starts mumbling something ominous under his breath in another language. The trooper, freaked out, rushes out and leaves the ration bars.
"Please say you're not having a vision and we have to get up," Cody grumbles without looking up, "If it is, the Force can go kriff off."
Obi-Wan sighs sadly, "The ship is going to be attacked in 3 minutes."
"Fuck."
the problem with movie remakes is that they always remake something that was already good, meaning at worst you ruin it and at best your remake is largely redundant. to make a truly good remake you need to start with source material that is absolute dogwater. ignore the pull of nostalgia. redeem the sins of moviemaking past.

This was not Sith against Jedi. This was not light against dark or good against evil; it had nothing to do with duty or philosophy, religion or morals. It was Anakin against Obi-Wan. Personally. Just the two of them, and the damage they had done to each other.
