WATCH YOUR LANGUAGE COMMANDER
Happy new year everyone, to celebrate I drew a helmetless dad
if you did make a clone trooper oc and made us fall in love with him I would not mind 👀
Commander Nyx, RC-1313, wasn’t quick to trust – after all, he’d heard things about the Jedi. There were plenty of stories floating around the mess about piss-poor assignments to Jedi Generals who treated his fellow soldiers like throw away holo-chess pieces.
Born out of the same training as Delta Squad, Nyx wasn’t really expecting a Jedi assignment; if anything, the commando figured he’d be snatched up by Special Ops and join a squadron running mission’s out of sight and out of mind. In fact, he preferred to think about that being his future – but, instead, here he is.
Standing outside the Jedi Council on Platform 4A-II.
Waiting.
The newly ranked Commander of Talon Squadron clears his throat, exhaling deeply as he shifts in his boots. He crosses his arms and promptly begins drumming his fingers. His HUD reads a time fifteen kliks later than anticipated.
He sighs again.
Behind him, the snickers of his squad-mates meet his ears. The black paint might still be wet on his armor’s pauldron, signifying his new rank, but that doesn’t stop the commando from shooting them a warning look, laced with stern leadership.
Lucky – a wide-eyed cadet – chirps a quick. “Sorry, sir.”
Nyx wasn’t quick to trust. But, when the moment you finally arrive on that platform – swathed by Master Windu and Kenobi – Nyx throws that hesitancy right out the damn airlock.
You’re chattering animatedly with both Jedi – you say something that makes General Kenobi laugh. The wry smile on your face that follows is like a square punch in the jaw.
He wasn’t sure what he was expecting. But, a bright-eyed, young, newly-crowned Jedi Knight from Naboo wasn’t it. Not a beautiful woman with a kind face and soft voice.
You could be royalty, he’s sure of it.
He’s glad his helmet is on. He’s staring. Openly.
“Commander,” it’s General Windu who regards Nyx with a gesture of respect, “Sorry to keep you waiting.”
“No problem at all, sir.”
Nyx’s voice is tight.
“You must be Nyx,” you say slowly, stepping forward and quirking a brow, “Congratulations on your promotion.”
Suddenly, there’s a hand. Your hand. Just… jutted out. Nyx, for a moment, isn’t quite sure what to do – but the sudden realization that you’re treating him as an equal slaps him into action.
He shakes your hand and the force stammers your heart.
For a moment, it’s just the two of you on that platform.
And that’s the beginning of the end.

Redemption
Chapter One: The Turn
Staring at the fob in my hand, I hardly listened to the guildmaster drone on about the mission.
"-I wouldn't have asked you this, but he's asking questions," Greef continued, hands on his hips and consternation settling across his features. He was anxious, worried, because the Mandalorian was the best in the business, and if he turned in the guild, they would be decimated. "He's never wondered before. It's that's damned asset, it's just a- well, that's not important. What is important is that he leave it be. If he doesn't, you-"
"I know," I replied sharply, eyes narrowed as I glanced up at the chagrined man and tossed the fob back on the table. I wouldn't take part in his hunt for the asset; I had no interest in it or the beskar he offered. "I'll take care of it. Like I always do. Leave my payment in my room."
As I turned and made for the door, I almost wondered if he would argue. I hadn't, after all, completed the task yet. It was bold of me to assume a man of his status in a place like this would be willing to take orders from a woman like me, to pay me for an incomplete job. Nor would it be necessary if the Mandalorian left the planet and continued on his newest hunt without question.
But Greef knew better.
He knew I had little to lose and even less to care about. I would kill him as easily as the Mandalorian if the desire struck me. So he let me leave, calling to an underling to gather my payment and take it to my room.
////
The Mandalorian had turned.
Cursing, I slipped out of his empty ship and headed swiftly back to town. I was a fool to have even tried his ship first; if they're was even an inkling of doubt in the mind of a man like that, he would follow through with it. The Imperial hideaway should have been my first stop.
Fear. Fear clouded your judgement, girl. You would already have the asset in hand and the Mandalorian's head in a sack.
Shaking away my anger, I neared the hideout, slowing with each passing step. Smoke billowed from within, the darkened alleyway devoid of any life.
Smart.
Rolling my shoulders, I allowed the tension to drain from my body. Inhaling deeply, I reached out, feeling, searching for the Mandalorian and his quarry.
Past the fallen stormtroopers, the count growing the nearer the bounty hunter got to the the exit. To me.
Falling into the shadow against the doorway, I was grateful for the deep, purple cloak, the black tunic and pants. Embracing the darkness, I allowed it to shield me until my prey appeared. A hand slipping to my belt, gloved fingers curling around the cool metal, I waited for the man to show himself.
Without much precaution - understandably so, as every single stormtrooper in his path had been cut down - the Mandalorian entered the alley.
The saber hummed threateningly, a hair's breadth from his neck, and his steps stilled. The blinding blue glow shone in his armor, beautifully - and recently - crafted. Though I didn't care much for Mandalorians, the beskar suit looked right on him. It belonged to him.
His head turned fractionally to meet my gaze, his free hand slowly lifting in surrender.
As good as his trigger finger was, he wouldn't cut me down before my blade severed his head.
"That would be a very bad idea."
His voice was deep, artificial through the helmet, and calm.
"On the contrary," I replied, a slight grin playing on my face as he remained still as stone against the threat of my saber, "seeing as I've already been paid for it, it's-"
And then I felt it.
The draw of the thing, the asset, in his hold. Eyes dropping to the small bundle, I reached out to it. And, small, weak as it was, a tendril reached back.
Abruptly, the hum fell silent and the light died. Slowly, I lowered the weapon, stunned, and questioned, "What. Do you. Have?"
But he turned his body from me, the object tucked tightly against his armor..
Insistent, I took a bold step toward him, ignoring the way his hand fell to his blaster. I was unconcerned; I would have him flat on his back before he could fire.
But the bundle.
"What is it? It's Force-sensitive. It's so… small…"
"It's a child," the Mandalorian grudgingly responded, glancing over his shoulder at the darkened, burning building, "they wanted to kill it. Or, use it, somehow."
Fire burned in my veins and I felt for the child again. It returned the gesture, a soft coo escaping the blanket. The urge to pull the cloth away was strong, but the Mandalorian's hold was stronger.
Nodding resolutely, I fisted a hand on my hip, "You're not making it to your ship without help. Every bounty hunter has been alerted that the… baby is back on the street. They'll be coming for you."
"And you?"
Offering him a mischievous grin, I lifted a brow, "I was only sent to kill you. But that was before I knew you had a Force-sensitive baby on board. I'm going to help you."

Summary: Maeve Aryan ventures out to the Outer Rim of the galaxy for no other reason but curiosity to keep her occupied. But when greeted with anything but kindness and a Mandalorian who attempts to sneak up on her, she unexpectedly finds it with him.
Part Two
–
The first day Maeve Aryan arrived on the planet on the outskirts of the galaxy, she stepped off her ship with an instant feeling of regret. There was no shortage of diversity, all of them sharing the scraps of bounties left around the galaxy so she noticed when she went into a cantina of sorts.
Maeve understandably was new, but she didn’t expect to make heads turn.
Perhaps she would find another place to go, maybe home at this point. It had been years since the Empire fell. Maybe she should start a family like the rest of her friends did.
Maybe she’d stay for just a drink.
Dyn, the Mandalorian, awaiting his next job as he sat in the booth just a few yards away, had been unable to keep his eyes off the newcomer. It was merely out of curiosity, but even the man who refused to feel any attachment couldn’t deny that the new face was a beautiful one at that compared to the company in this place. He recognized her uniform though, or at least he thought he did. It resembled that of those on the other end of the galaxy.
Rebellion clothing. No one around here had that quality of gear.
While the stranger was a new comer, it was instinct in Dyn to not trust her and figure out what she was here for. It was a simple truth to not trust anyone in his eyes, there was no one worth trusting around here.
Maeve left the cantina, her chin up despite the feeling that put her stomach in knots. Not a word was said to her. Figures, bounty hunters were all selfish and stuck to their own.
These parts were shady. The way the gray slabs of walls towered over her and made the dirt paths more narrow didn’t sit right with her. It made her feel like someone could pop out any moment from any crevice.
Her suspicions served her right and no footsteps were too quiet for her to here.
Maeve balled her fist, swiftly turning around with her arm swinging out towards the figure that she suspected trailing behind her. What she did not suspect was the fact that this person would be wearing a metal helmet and while she felt the sweet release of his body flying back, she also felt the crunching of her fingers that shot up her arm.
“What the hell!” she screeched, cursing more under her breath as she held her seemingly shattered hand.
The Mandalorian came back with a blaster in her face.
“State your business.”
Maeve was furious. “You just broke my hand you brainless tin can!” she fumed. Instead of crying, she grunted and bit down on her tongue while spewing out her insults that left him dumbfounded, lowering his gun.
“I know who you are.” she said through a strained exhale, the throbbing sensation becoming hot and painful. “I’m not here to cause trouble with you and the rookie bounty hunters you moron.”
“Any other names you got for me?” the Mandalorian asked, sliding away his blaster.
Maeve laughed, but not kindly. “Plenty if you want to keep this up. Ironically, I was going to ask you if you knew where to find a place to stay around here when I saw you back there but I did not get the welcoming vibe from anyone.”
The Mandalorian sighed. “That’s the people here, unfortunately. I’m surprised to see someone like you around here. I was suspicious.”
“I don’t understand how you people on this end of the galaxy know a Rebellion fighter when you see one.”
“To be fair, your face among a few others went around for a while. If I recall, a man named Han Solo was up for sale for some time.”
“You got that all the way out here?” she asked, momentarily distracted from her bruising hand. But she shook her head. “That’s not the point. You owe me to fix my hand up, Mr.Bounty Hunter.”
The Mandalorian stood there, still and tall like a statue and the helmet over his head gave her the impression that he was always brooding underneath of it. Or maybe her name calling was getting a little out of hand, judging by the way he crossed his arms at her like he were burdened to deal with her.
“My name is Maeve Aryan and I will not call you any other names if you can be the first person here to be kind enough to me and fix me hand.” Maeve said, giving him an apologetic face.
“Follow me.”
