Sebastian couldn’t help but chuckle at the way Hunter was teasing his little girl, shaking his head slightly in amusement. “Well, I certainly won’t complain since it’s what brought you into my little slice of the Big Apple… that I’ve run for about half a year now. I know, I know, it’s not a lot of time, but it’s going great, and such a great concept just took some time to develop.”

Hunter’s words certainly made Sebastian curious, what Situation might it be Hunter was alluding to? But all in good time, he wouldn’t make his friend spill all the beans to him right away. He’d much rather spend more time with the man, trying to reconnect on a maybe completely different level than in their high school years. “Hey now, don’t even think about paying, this one’s on me, alright?” he reprimanded as he saw Hunter reach for the wallet, giving him a small grin. “Gotta celebrate meeting an old friend again. It’s a one time offer though, next time you pay like everyone else!” Signaling to his employee to take over the cash register, Sebastian started the coffee and fixed Hunter’s sandwiches, smiling over the counter at the man with the adorable little princess on his arm. “How come you’re taking care of her?” he could help but ask, curiosity finally winning over.

“It’s definitely great, Bas. I will give you that much. You should be proud of it.” Hunter smiled some, unable to help but feel more and more old feelings Hunter hadn’t felt since back in high school.

Hunter smiled and put his wallet back into his back pocket. “Look at you, being nice for once. I’m shocked. Not only was time to your good looks but also to your personality.” Hunter teased Sebastian with a smug smirk, moving out of the way and stood by the counter with Felicity still snug in his arms. “I’m sure it’s a one time offer, you can only be so nice for so long. I understand.” He chuckled and hesitated briefly at the question. “Uh, well I had a serious girlfriend my first year I was going to school out here and she ended up getting pregnant. So she had Felicity then uh, about six months later she left because I had finally decided that I needed to accept the fact that I was gay.” Hunter smiled a bit awkwardly. “She left Felicity with me and never looked back, so here we are.”

Sebastian couldn’t help but chuckle at Hunter’s replies, shaking his head a little. “I never thought I’d see that day, you oversleeping? Hell must have finally fixed is freezer. Lawfirm though, that’s something I had expected.” Grinning even wider, Sebastian raised an eyebrow, shifting his weight so pop out his hip. “I’m unsure if I should take offense though, you should know me better than assuming I just work here. I own Fauvette! Glad you noticed it though, means I did a good job, but it took you a long time to check us out..”

Softening his face as he looked back to Felicity who was just adorable, snuggled into the strong arms Sebastian had quite often imagined wrapping around himself, Sebastian waved his fingers a little, cooing “Hey Felicity, I’m Sebastian..” before turning his attention back to her father. “She’s really cute, you did quite a good job there. But then again, when did you not?” It was difficult seeing Hunter like this, with a daughter, and probably a really beautiful wife - no, girlfriend, there was no ring - when Sebastian felt so damn attracted to his old friend. Why did it always have to be the straight or taken ones (or both) he was interested in? Biting his lip, Sebastian tried hard to focus on his job. “Now, while we’re catching up on five years, why don’t you tell me what I can do for you so I have something to occupy my hands with duting our little chat?”

“I guess that’s what happens when a certain someone doesn’t do well with rain and whines until you let her sleep in your bed with you.” Hunter rolled his eyes fondly, Felicity letting out an annoyed noise from where she was still hiding her face against her father’s neck. He let out an amused snort, dropping a kiss to the crown of her head. “Ah, now that makes more sense. I’m a busy man these days, today just seemed like the day that I should finally check it out and had a bit of time before I’m supposed to rush into work. How long have you owned the place then?” He asked curiously.

Felicity peeked shyly over at the other man and giggled a bit, finally waving over at him. “Hi, ‘Bastian.” She squeaked out and Hunter grinned. “Be honored she even did that. She usually ignores strangers utterly and completely.” Hunter smirked and nodded his head in agreement. “She definitely is adorable. I’d like to think I did good in a less than...” He tried to find the right word for the situation he had been in. “Adequate situation I had been in at the time.” Hunter finally settled on, he glanced over the menu and finally settled on something to eat. “How about two ham and cheese sandwiches? And a black coffee, biggest cup you have. I definitely need it.” Hunter laughed, managing to keep one arm wrapped around Felicity as he used his other hand to get his wallet out of the back pocket of his slacks.

It was just a regular morning at work for Sebastian Smythe. Check on the baker, prepare the food, set the tables and open the shop. Ring up customers, have an eye on his help that was whiping down the tables or preparing the coffee, hand out application forms to the people coming in to ask for the job he had a sign in the window for. Just the normal, run of the mill day with nothing out of the ordinary. Had it not been his very own café, Sebastian might have felt like he was trapped doing menial labor, that this here was beneath his standards. But it was Fauvette, his baby, and every coffee he made, every pastry and croissant he sold was heaven to him. His own buisiness…

And the day would have probably continued on like that, with nothing to tell his friends in the evening, had it not been for a blast from his past walking into Fauvette this very morning. He saw him the moment the bell above the door rang, Hunter Clarington, subject of quite a few of his explicit dreams back in high school, however it was the little blonde girl on his arm that really had Sebastian stumped. How in the hell did Hunter have a kid already? And such a cute one, too.. well, considering who the father was, how could she not be, but that was besides the point. He tried not to stare as he saw his old friend stand in line, rocking the little girl on his hip, but when he heard the other man call out his name, he couldn’t help the grin spreading over his lips and he leaned forward, resting his hands on the counter. “Look who the cat dragged in… Hunter Clarington. What brought you into this part of town?” And throwing a glance at the little girl in his friend’s arms, Sebastian softly added “God, I really missed quite a lot of updates, didn’t I?”

Hunter couldn’t help but grin a bit further when Sebastian leaned forward and the ever present snarky tone hadn’t seemed to dull since their high school years. The rush of familiarity was exhilarating to Hunter. His life had turned upside down and changed rapidly in just five years and the fact that an old aspect of his life he used to know was there again. “I’m sure I look like a mess considering that I overslept.” Hunter chuckled and rolled his eyes a bit. “I actually live in Manhattan, the law firm I work at isn’t too far away from here. I needed to grab something to eat before heading into work and I remembered passing by here so I thought why not give it a chance.” He shrugged his broad shoulders, smirking some. “I never thought that you of all people would work in a cafe.” He mused thoughtfully.

Biting down on his bottom lip, Hunter noted the way Sebastian looked over at Felicity. He adjusted the small, blonde girl in his muscular arms and laughed dryly. “Yeah, a lot has changed in five years, surprisingly enough.” Felicity peeked over at Sebastian curiously, hiding her face against Hunter’s neck. “Uh, this is Felicity, my daughter. She’s a bit shy around strangers.” Hunter rubbed her back, rather nervous how his old friend was going to react to the fact he had a child. Back at Dalton, Hunter did have a slight-see: major-crush on Sebastian. He vehemently denied it, wanting to believe he was straight but seeing Sebastian now, even more matured and older looking, brought up a stirring of old feelings.

We Meet Again - F2F

Hunter was running late and he was in a slight panic, his alarm didn’t go off at the right time and he had slept in well over two hours. Luckily enough for him, it was the first time that something like this had happened to him so his bosses were being a bit lenient with him and just told him to hurry into work as quick as he could. Hunter got Felicity dressed as quick as possible and tied the little girl’s blonde hair up into a small ponytail. He grabbed her small backpack packed with her coloring books, a few toys, and some diapers and wipes. He figured he didn’t have much time to make Felicity something to eat, so he gave her a sippy cup full of grape juice for her to hold her over until he stopped by the cafe he saw every day on the way to work. Once parking outside of the cafe, Hunter got Felicity out of her car seat and carried her inside of the cafe. He stood in line and rocked the little girl on his hip, asking her what she’d like. Hunter looked up to read over the options when he stopped abruptly, recognizing someone he hadn’t seen in over five years. “Sebastian? Sebastian Smythe?” Hunter asked with a small smile tugging at his pink lips.
