I think people like the *concept* of Death Note, than the anime itself, because the idea is so interesting, but the work almost never adresses the questionable moral implications of it. I guess, it's implied, but it's still a missed opportunity to not make it a part of the story. Most of it is just a "battle of wits", but in a corny targeted-mostly-for-teenagers manner.
No. No. I'm sorry. But you do not have to "hand it" to the Soviet Union.
I know we're living in a late-stage capitalist hellscape, and many of us are still recovering from the generational social conditioning of American Exceptionalism, but that doesn't mean you need to go flying in the opposite direction by claiming totalitarian dictatorships like the USSR and China were "the good guys, actually!"
Please stop embarrassing yourself, tankies!
Get off the tags and stop putting this on my dash
can we bring back #killallmen
It's actually so painful leaving your own bubble to see that so many people are zionist or other form of fascist😭
"The US government pushes American citizens into a meat grinder and the veterans become homeless!" - rare US government W?
The sentiment that making fun of Israel and Israelis is somehow "downplaying a genocide" feels like a zionist psyop. Why are you mad them being a butt of the joke?
It's basically a soft power but the opposite. People slandering Israel is a good thing. It can be performative or corny, but it's really a nonissue. Most people are aware of Israel's crimes against humanity and you should stop being an annoying moralist

Is it too crazy to say that Native languages of any particularly area/region in the West (Americas, Australia, New Zealand, any settler colony) should be mandatory for the settlers to learn, in order to keep those languages alive. Paraguay did it, so should you
It's easy to hate billionaires, but are you able to hate millionaires?
Btw "noble savage" is a term coined by white settlers, who tried to demonise other white settlers, who were interested in Indigenous peoples' cultures on the Turtle Island, so I suggest you not to use that term, or atleast not to overuse it.
Chinese people suffering through Japanese colonialism and the war crimes being committed against is their shared collective trauma.. I don't think you have an authority to judge them for their "nationalism", after they were liberated from it
There's no way to have a "who has it worse" oppression Olympics argument without it turning chauvinistic. Dropping dialectical materialism just to score points online isn't exactly a great way to win people over. Is the halfway point just a dead end nowadays? Have we traded our principles for cheap gotchas?
Truth be told, for you losers, it's easy to say Russians have it worse or Indigenous Americans have it worse when you're neither. You're comfortable treating whole groups of people like tokens in a debate because you're not the one getting hurt. It's easy to make those arguments when you don't have to live with the consequences.
Maybe we all need to take a step back and start thinking about how to lead everyone I mean everyone toward some kind of respite from a world that's increasingly divided by the false notions of nationality and ethnicity.
I quite dislike how Superman nowadays is seen as a "wholesome anti fascist symbol", when he was created as an US nationalist ideal and propagated very conservative ideas for the most of his history. The same applies to the whole superhero genre, with Marvel outright being CIA propaganda that worked with the military complex. I'm not saying that you can't enjoy reading or watching superhero movies, but (I know it's a bit of cliche thing to say) just be critical of the things you consume
"both things can be true at the same time" is the most annoying thought terminating cliche/phrase of all time
"Russians are not oppressed" the sanctions?? You think they don't hurt working class/impoverished Russians?
the famous north macedonian imperialism (they are european and everyone knows that all europeans did colonialism)
