Sorry guys!!!
"Friends don't look at each other like that."
âOh?â The blonde smirked.Â
âIâm sure that I will.â She pulled her legs under herself.
James smiled at her about to say something when the doorbell rang. He got up, rolling his shoulders a little, the whirring much more audible now he didnât have a heavy coat on to muffle the sound. It made him a little self conscious but he went to the door anyway to grab the food.Â
âIts a pleasure to meet you sir.â she smiled softly, she was still on an I.V drip for pain medications âabout my arm? I barely remember what happened that dayâŠ. I donât think I want to remember.âÂ
âYes, I am not here to talk about your accident, more about the cybernetics they have given you and the capabilities and potential for upgrades.â He responded with a soft smile, moving a little closer, his hands clasped firmly behind his back.Â
Ozpin and Ironwood | Mind Over Matter
âThere is nothing wrong with my cane, it is a perfectly good close combat weapon.â Ozpin said defensively âBesides, I my own gun in my office.â
James nodded. âDo you want someone to go and get it for you just in case?â He asked, not really wanting his gun to be stolen again.Â
âNo sirâ she kept looking at her arm, she couldnât remember anything that had happened to her.Â
âMy name is General James Ironwood. I am the headmaster of Atlas and general of the Military there.â He explained, introduction formal. âI am here to talk to you about your arm.âÂ
"Friends don't look at each other like that."
âOh?â The blonde smirked.Â
Glynda smiled at him. âThe food should be here soonâŠâ
âYeah it should.â He said, smiling softly at her. âI hope youâll like it.âÂ
@manmadeiron from hereÂ
the black haired blue eyed girl saw the male and smiled softly, âhello sirâ her voice was soft and tired, her skin was almost as white as snow, the surgery had taken a lot out of the girl, she was grateful that she was alive.Â
He looked down at her, recognising the cybernetics. âHello, do you know who I am?â He asked, moving closer.Â
Ozpin and Ironwood | Mind Over Matter
âSorry, James.â Ozpin placed the gun next to James and laid back down. âRemind me never to pick a gun up ever again.â Ozpin closed his eye, trying to reorganize his thoughts.
James took the gun, holding it on his lap. âYou were a very good shot. Iâd actually suggest you pick up a gun rather than using that cane of yours.âÂ
Equinox.
The girlâs fingers clutched to the book a bit tighter when lifted, her head lolling to rest against Jamesâ chest when he carries her to another section of tent. Settled on a soft surface, she nuzzles her face into the sleeping bag and makes a soft noise, and eventually worms her way into it before falling, again, asleep, her hands curled around the spine of the text. She doesnât dream that night; Spring blesses her determination with quiet dreams, ones to invoke restful time so sheâll be her very best the next day.
Sheâll be sure to thank the soldier the next day, when she wakes up not by the machine but nestled in the warmth of the sleeping bag.
Ozpin headed to bed not long after Cerulean did, knowing that he would need his rest. James however stayed up much later, planning things for his army before finally heading to bed in the small hours of the morning.Â
The following morning he awoke early, having only slept for a few hours but well rested. He got up and got dressed for the day, assuming the other two would sleep longer so not worrying about hiding his cybernetics as he did so.Â

Blade sighs softly looking at her Cybernetic arm. she still couldnât remember what happened. âI donât know what happenedâŠâ she carefully opens and closes her Cybernetic hand, testing it out. She had learned that she was in Atlas. she also Learned that her entire arm up to her shoulder was cybernetic. She was also told that it would take time to get used to. She had just closed her eyes until a nurse walked in and told her she had a visitor. Who would want to visit me? She thinks to herself and sits up slowly so she could see who walk in. She tried to fix her hair by pulling it back into a low pony tail, she was Curious to see who walked through that automatic door.Â
James had been called to the hospital. It wasnât usual that this happened but apparently there had been someone who had received the same cybernetics as him, although not as extensive, and so he had been asked to visit them to offer advice. He didnât mind, he would have liked someone to come and talk to him when he had first been injured so he hoped this other person would appreciate it as well.Â
He walked into the room quite soon after he had gotten there, a soft smile plastered on his face as he looked at the girl in the bed.
Ozpin and Ironwood | Mind Over Matter
Glynda: Glynda stumbled a bit trying to get up. âI informed the doctors and Ozpin before he entered surgery that the gun was there for protection in case this happens.â Glynda pointed to the two men on the ground.
âAnd I wasnât informed? I looked for my gun before coming here but couldnât find it.â He said, slightly defensive.Â
"Friends don't look at each other like that."
âOh?â The blonde smirked.Â
âI mean it James, youâre an attractive even with them.âÂ
âThank you.â He said rubbing his cybernetic arm a little bit.Â
Equinox.
âThrough the woods. I live in the forest.â She answers simply, staying close to the warmth, close to the heat. It was safer nowâshe wasnât going to freeze, it was a beautiful feeling to be snuggled up to the things. And thenâŠthe dreaded yawn of tiredness. Sheâs surprised her staminas held up this wellâits like walking the distance between her home and Becon back a thousand times. She doesnât think anything of it, using her book as a pillow to justâŠcloseâŠher eyesâŠa minute.. She ends up tipping over and falling to the floor with a small âthumpâ, still asleep.
James turned sharply as he heard the thump, looking at the young girl as she slept. âShe looks like sheâs exhausted, should I carry her to her tent?â He asked, looking at Ozpin who nodded. âI think I will head to a tent as well.â The older man said smiling softly.Â
General Ironwood moved forward and crouched, lifting Cerulean up before carrying her to one part of the large tent. He placed her down on the sleeping bag in there before motioning to the other side. âYou can sleep in that one.âÂ
Ozpin nodded again and walked over there.Â
Ozpin and Ironwood | Mind Over Matter
âWhy would you want to know, General.â The figure hold Glynda and Winter watched from behind saying nothing. Ozpin looked at Glynda who was pointing to the manâs chest. Glynda had snuck Jamesâ gun into a empty drawer on the medical bed, Ozpin slowly reached for it. âNow, I came here to finish what I started, and as a little bonus, âSheâ would like the rest of you dead.â The figure points a gun at Glyndaâs head. Ozpin gripped the handle of the gun, putting his finger on the trigger. âYou wonât be receiving that payment Iâm afraid.â Ozpin smirked and pulled out the gun and fired then towards the other figure. The man holding Glynda and Winter fell and was dead, Glynda quickly caught her before she hit the ground. The other man had a wound in his shoulder forcing his to drop the gun. âYou wonât shot me again.â With out hesitation, Ozpin shot his knee âWant to dare me again? Youâre lucky your not like your friend. By the wayâŠâ Ozpin shot again this time in the head âThat second shot was payback for the eye.â
James was shocked as Ozpin pulled his gun out of the drawer, frowning a little in confusion. Yes he was relieved that it had saved them all but still.Â
âWhy do you have my gun?â He asked, raising an eyebrow.Â
Ruby and Ironwood | The Infection
The small rosebud gave the taller man a quiet nod of her head, deciding not to make a peep from here onwards until they would leave the City. She understood his plan well, agreeing that it was best to stick together, unless if an unexpected attack of Infected fell upon them. Then and only then would it be alright for them to split up. However, the thought of doing so put a sickening feeling in the huntressâ stomach as she clothed onto the snath of Crescent Rose tightly. She didnât know if she could leave James behind if there was an outbreak of Infected. Even though she knew the man could handle himself, she didnât know if she could simply run away and leave him to fight on his own. The thought didnât sit right with the little rosebud, however now was not the time to be thinking too hard over these things. There was a possibility of walking out of the city in the all clear with no sightings of Infected. Ruby just had to keep positive, and let her body react when the time would come.
Once James gently pushed the door of the town hall open, Ruby snuck up behind him and kept close as she held her scythe tight in hand, ready for any outbreaks as they took their first steps out into the desolate city. So far so good. All was quiet, not a person or Infected to be seen. The place was almost too quiet, in fact, and so the two would even need to be careful of their footwork so as not to make a sound of scuffing feet against the ground.
James looked around, plan set in his mind as they started walking, looking around as they tried to avoid any and all infected that might come towards them.Â
He moved so he was slightly behind Ruby, able to block any attacks from behind that she might not be able to see coming, keeping his pace up though so they would be able to get to their next base at the time he wanted to. He just couldnât help being glad that Ruby was the one he had found. Out of everyone she seemed to be the best to promote optimism as well as being good at combat. Her youth also made him more determined to get them to safety.Â
"Friends don't look at each other like that."
âOh?â The blonde smirked.Â
"That's very kind of you Glynda." He said, tugging at the jumper sleeve a little to try and hide the dents a bit more.
Ruby and Ironwood | The Infection
âOnly need checking once a month?! Wow⊠that is very advanced computing technology then!â the rosebud declared with a light-hearted laugh as she turned to look over her shoulder at the General with a smile. Ruby had originally pictured that the cybernetics would perhaps have to be checked up on every week to make sure everything was in tip-top condition, however here she was told it would be a once a month check, which in all honesty was a lot better and more efficient for the man during such a time as now.
As James approached her and stood by her side to glance out of the boarded up windows of the town hall, Ruby gave the tall man a quick glance, studying his face and waiting for his thoughts on their situation. Should they wait another while, or should they go for it?
âYouâre right⊠from this angle it looks like there arenât any Infected or Grimm around⊠but we canât be too careful⊠there might be some hiding around the back. If we move quickly and quietly, we should be alright and able to get back out on the road to our goal!â the silver-eyed girl spoke with a determined grin as her hands turned to fists by her sides. Taking a deep breath to prepare and ready herself, Ruby cleared her throat to speak again. âWhatâs the plan, James? Jump out of here and stick together as we run out back onto the road?â
"Yes I think we stick together to begin with but if there are infected, you run ahead. There shouldn't be many, I can hold them back. You keep heading west and I will catch up." He responded, standing tall as he looked out of the window before glancing down at her. "For now stay with me." At that he very gently opened up the door making sure it wouldn't make a sound before he walked forward, gun ready in his hand just in case. Ruby was right, there could be infected hiding anywhere. They just needed to stay quiet and hopefully it would be clear through the city and towards the road they needed to take.
