cuz of the anime the talk about hirokoshi's ass writing regarding the todoroki fam is reaching me again and i just hate so much how ppl rlly think endeavor "was punished" when he in fact was not.
hirokoshi introduced his character as the shady abusive father and husband he is and then went "ok but hear me out" and started his half assed redemption AFTER he got the position he destroyed his family for, BOUGHT A WOMAN for, just cuz it was not obtained in a way that satiesfied him (because everything was always to satisfy him) and then finally he connected 2 neurons to go "so maybe i was wrong"
it was so jarring how hirokoshi had characters like the fuck ass protagonists (izuku and katsuki) supporting his redemption (especially jarring on midoriya, wtf you mean your friend told you his father abused him his whole life, got his mother locked on a mental hospital after being the cause of her breakdown that scarred you quite literaly, you witness the family dynamics, and learn he is also to blame for the death of his first born, and you STILL support that man?) when the man didnt actually change??
"i'll atone" he would say and yet he only stopped abusing his kids (1-doing the bare minimun of coming to dinner for the delusional oldest daughter 2-not physical abuse of youngest who doesnt even live with him anymore 3-leave the neglected son alone he is away anyways) like wows thanks dad! hold yourself accountable, turn yourself in, retire and stop profiting of being a "hero" when you were actually a villian all along didn't ever cross your mind in your atomenment?
i actually dropped the series becuase of the aftermath of dabi's exposure of endeavor. the way their society, fellow heroes, main characters, did not give a single fuck about endeavor's actions was too much (i kept tabs on the todo fam situation though) for me. "its ok to forgive your dad you want to" fucking shut up, even if youre friends you dont have ground to be adivicing that to his victim! its lowkey manipulating "i know you feel this specific way about a VERY complicated situation i have nothing to relate with" riiight.
Hawks learned his hero was actually the villian in his own home and dude gave 0 fucks and continued to admire him.
I hated jeanist answer being "i dont care if he abused you and your whole family, dabi!" also that awful ass sidekick of burning or whatever. hope she rots.
that last scene of dabi was awful too. imagine you're kept alive LIKE THAT and your father, the reason you spiraled so badly you're in that situation, sits there and gives you his one sided speech threathening with not leaving you alone stroking his own ego (cuz rlly that atomenet is for himself) just put me down.
endeavor the man who was only cut off by his less important son (cuz he neglected him his whole life, endeavor DOESN'T KNOW NATSU) but has his 2 other alive kids, his bought wife, his sidekicks, the support of heroes and fans even after the forced retirement, got what he wanted cuz what, he's in a wheelchair and can't be a hero anymore??? that's it?? that's what y'all call "punishment"?
endeavor should have ended up all alone, scorned by society, and his crimes affect their hero society (cuz hello hero no2 was abusing his whole family at home and nobody bats an eye when they learn that from the supposedly dead 1st born??) but no, just let him end up in a wheelchair surrounded by people that support him regardless of how he destroyed his family.
