It’s Kadsey’s birthday today, and I wanted to do something for it, and decided to finally start writing one of my fic ideas I posted way back.
This is only like a draft, and not completely finished as I still need to write the end but I wasn’t sure I’d get this out in time for his bday so might as well post it here for now :p
Three is a magic number ( A Kadsey x Ashton x Player Fic)
—————————————————————————
Or at least, if you were named Kadsey Kadsington it did. His life was really normal, and going decently well. He had friends, a place away from his… parents, and a good following! Sure there were some issues here and there, but overall? He felt complete, content. That was, until the day YOU downloaded the game. Then before he knows it, his crush best friend goes psycho over some rando, all because of what? They’re “real”? Or something like that. Honestly, Kadsey was a bit more worried about his friends getting killed and getting deleted himself to care too much on the reason at that time. Still, he did at least try to warn whoever was playing the game. To save himself or Ashton? Who knows. The only thing Kadsey knew next was darkness. And yet not exactly. It was weird, and everytime he thinks about it his head hurts too bad. To top it all off, when the game did get rebooted, no one but him can remember any of it, and “Ashton” isn’t even Ashton anymore. It made him feel insane, or at least more insane than the trash bin made him feel.
It was another monotonous day for Kadsey, after this whole reboot mess he’d kind of just been going through the motions, trying to convince himself he hadn’t made any of it up. Both John and Vincent have scars from where they were killed, so something must’ve happened, right? Kadsey sighs, getting ready for another livestream at the local carnival when a familiar feeling dawns on him. But it couldn’t be, right? Quickly, using a bit of what the original Ashton had taught him when they first figured out about being in a game, he hides in a corner of the Home Screen, waiting. It doesn’t take him look for him to see it, or well, who it was. It was you, the one who Ashton went crazy for. The player, the reason this all happened, the one who stole Ashton from him. You were back, and to what? Mock him? Play another stupid game? Gloat in his face? Or… maybe even find Ashton? Kadsey cringed of jealousy at the thought, of you getting to be the one to bring Ashton back and not him. Of course, you just get to waltz right back to the game, and steal him, again. Kadsey glares one last time before leaving back to the Carnival, planning and plotting for if you ever were to match with him.
It didn’t take long, honestly almost as soon as he left did he feel your “presence” or avatar approach him. Did you really match with him first try? Huh, that’s… weird. Honestly he thought you would match with Trashton first, since you seemed to like Ashton soooo much. Kadsey shakes his head, smirking to himself as he begins his first prank of many for the night, excited to get back at you for stealing his Ashton away from him.
Kadsey can’t believe. You won each minigame he hurled at you and won, and yet, you still gave him each toy? No way, there’s no way! And yet, he can’t help but feel grateful for it, each plush giving him a piece of the real Ashton back. Not only that, but you helped, and listened to him! You didn’t have to, you had several other choices to just be mean, yell at him, hell anything but this! He feels conflicted, a familiar feeling bubbling up inside of him usually reserved for… but there’s no way he’s gaining a crush on you! Right?! You stole Ashton from him, you’re the reason he got deleted and his friends were killed!
But, maybe it wasn’t totally your fault, he guesses, long after the date had ended, as he holds the shark plush in his hands. If anything, you seem to be helping everyone in this god forsaken simulation. Is it because you’re trying to get him back? Or… do you actually like them, more so him? Kadsey looks up at the light filled sky, wondering what exactly your game is, and maybe, he was wrong about you after all.
