I'll say right away THIS was the only way this story could have ended. Happy until their last day. If they had remained an angel and a demon, immortal beings, it would have been an open ending. We as fans would definitely want to see a sequel. Let's say they went to Alpha Centauri, what then? Or Aziraphale and Crowley live in a small cottage with a garden outside the city forever. Anything could've happened, the story could be have continued. But it wasn't needed. Good story has to end in it's time.
Yes, they love each other, but it's not them.
Of course, it's so heartbreaking to "lose" 6,000 years. It feels as looking at a story that was once told and will never be heard again. Now, only an echo of that story exists which nobody remembers, but us.
I believe one of the main messages is that love can't be stopped.
In one universe, it took them 6,000 years to come up with the word "love." In another, it only took them a single moment in a bookstore. And in both worlds their love has no sexual or other connotations. Or maybe it does, but they're not primary. Platonic love. As unreal and out of this universe as they are. We can see it in s3 "kiss". I made a post about it already.
Look at them 😭 They didn't change. One is kind and a little soft bookseller. And another calm and nice gentalmen in dark suit. They even act as used to.
Even Crowley. He always was nice we know it. And don't forget Crowley was an optimist after all.
Even the way he puts his glasses off.
And Asa. He is reacting to his dearest friend the same way as Aziraphale. Look how shy he is. His man said things his surprised by what makes him so happy.
Probably one of the few regrets I want to discuss with you guys. Besides of course losing of the identity as higher beings and ineffable husbands. SOOOO since there's no God in this universe, there's no life after death. And they definitely won't be able to be together forever. Not as angels and demons, nor as people with immortal souls. Kinda sad (that's some deep religious analysis, sorry)
Of course, all these are just my thoughts; I don't dispute anyone's opinion or argue with anyone. You can agree with me or not.
At the end, I want to show the my friends and me reacting to the finale. Watching S3 in a call was a great idea.
Have a lot of thoughts I'd like to share. It took a few hours to gather everything together and calm down.

Also. ALSO. Crowley’s question was never answered. Still. Even after 6000 years. Even looking right into God's eyes. Our poor sunshine. 🥺 BUT ALSO. What I loved so much and why I respect creators so much. The question of human existence is one of the main in our world and they didn't take responsibility to answer it. Brilliant.
🌌One more thing. A universe was created in which there was no God. Scientific theory working here and now. The Big Bang, the world exists on its own, and then simply fades away. However, this universe was still created by God. It's something to think about. In general, I like how subtly the creators play with this whole theme, without going overboard, mocking, or turning it into a cruel joke. Geniuses🌌

By the way, remember the coffee theory? ☕ We were so wrong. The main reason Aziraphale decided to return to UP was because he wanted to protect Crowley. Not just protect him but give him the opportunity to be "us."

A few words about Michael. She is becoming more human. Going native. Injustice, jealousy, rejection, and despair. These are all things that can be attributed to humans, or at most to demons, but certainly not to an angel. That's what 6,000 years in charge can do to you 😔
BTW Aziraphale and Crowley talked SO careful w her. Understanding and respecting. Dads being dads

They are saying goodbye. And Aziraphale returning his kiss to the only person it belongs. They didn't break the eye contact. Crowley kissed his fingers, he understood, he felt all the same.
Saw people complaining that they DIDN'T EVEN KISS. Well yeah. The kiss in s2. The season itself was about love. They showed us three types. Of the higher beings, sublime. Like Gabriel and Beelzebub. The earthly, human kind. Nina and Maggie. And the middle. Not humans, not somebody so different so they can't be understood. Ineffable. Aziraphale and Crowley.
And Crowley spent the whole s2 trying to make our ladies fell in love. He loves how humans behave and he already used to it. And he wants to "wake up" Aziraphale and show the truth for him. And here goes a kiss, one of the highest and most impulsive way to express emotions.
For my money, this S3 kiss was showing how they really feel. Their love is something more than we all can understand. As ineffable as they are.
Mr. Gaiman was so right. This all is a love. And love has no boundaries. Not age, not time, not death, neither angels or demons.

Summerising everything. I loved finale. It was rushed very much 90 min is not enough to end this ineffable story. But I still can't imagine everything better.
