This is Fee. He’s a creature that’s a bit different from the others. He lives in a cave full of trash he finds around and eats everything in front of him — snacks, dirt, rocks, sticks, even the snack packaging itself. No one has the slightest idea how he manages that. He’s very energetic, loves super sugary sodas, and enjoys exploring new places

Hey everyone, I’m here with a few updates about my new interests. I think it’s already clear that I like to gather my main references into a moodboard — it helps me remember them when I’m creating something with that aesthetic. And this time, these are interests that have been hovering over me for years, after all, I grew up with them :D

I’ve been exploring these different kinds of media out of nostalgia, and I ended up falling in love with their simplicity. I started studying each of them in an artistic way. For example, my favorite cartoon is Adventure Time — I used to watch Smosh on loop, and my comfort game series is LittleBigPlanet. I don’t know… there’s something about 2010s character design, with simple shapes and dot eyes, that really enchants me. Some time ago I did a few studies, but they’re still far from being the best version of this style.

I find it really interesting how these kinds of media — at least the ones involving creatures without an apparent species (LittleBigPlanet, Club Penguin’s Puffles, Toonix, Uglydolls, Fluggers, and even the mascots from the Vancouver Winter Olympics) — managed to create entire worlds around these little beings without explaining much at all. My next drawing will probably be something related to this. I want to see if my SKILLS!!!!! have evolved after a few years of difference :)

Hi everyone, I’ve been a bit absent, I know, but I’d like to gradually come back here — maybe even with daily posts. Not just to show my drawings, but also to talk a bit about my recent hyperfixations. And that’s exactly what I came here to do today. I’ve been studying a lot of things lately: biology, paleontology, and even speculative evolution.

I made this small, silly, goofy moodboard to show the things I’m interested in at the moment.

Well, first of all, I’d say that all of my hyperfixations involve areas of biology in some way (I have a big interest in the natural world), so here are my explanations:

I’ve been wanting to create a sona of myself inspired by parts of the human body, which led me to become really interested in the nervous system, and in how strangely complex it is and full of lines. I’m actually working on a sona based on that right now — I guess I really love nervous systems after all.

After that, I started looking a lot into cold-temperature habitats, which led me to two major predators that completely fascinated me. The leopard seal and the orca are definitely two of my favorite animals from now on. Learning about them is so cool — I love misunderstood animals (no wonder I’m also really into sharks).

Reading about them made me appreciate everything: the coloration and patterns of their skin, their hunting tactics, and even their teeth. Carnivores can be silly sometimes.

I also looked into some recently extinct animals, and the one that really got to me was the Tasmanian tiger. I love it — my Roman Empire…

And I also went back to a big childhood interest of mine: dinosaurs and other ancient eras. I love herbivorous dinosaurs — my favorite is Parasaurolophus. I love everything about this guy. I really like hadrosaurids in general, but especially him.

I also looked into other periods beyond the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous. Outside of those, my favorite is without a doubt the Cambrian. Big hugs to my Anomalocaris friends.

And lastly, I became really fascinated with speculative evolution/biology, especially the concepts by @iguanodont, which I find absolutely amazing. Like, look this
