So am packing up my bags and heading to my polling unit 😅😅 Christmas came early this year. That said! I came across two posts on Facebook yesterday that got me both angry and albeit more determined, one was admonishing public servants from showing so much interest and affiliation towards certain political parties 🙄🙄. Are Public/Civil servants not given religious and Political rights like any other Citizen? As a Lecturer of Public Administration am sure the public office where you work cannot identify itself under any political arm but you as an individual is allowed to be part of any political circle you believe in as far as it doesn't affect or influence your office in any way.
Another post was admonishing Nigerians to calm down with being so excited about the election 😅😅😅🤣🤣🤣 according to him that's why we voted the wrong person. Another said you can't make proper political decisions on an empty stomach 😅😅😅😅 Wow!!! Fellow Nigerians don't listen to all this nay sayers or killers of enthusiasm go to your polling unit tomorrow well prepared to vote and do so with your FULL CHEST regardless of what anyone will say. The only reason you may not want to vote tomorrow is if your polling unit is Volatile, aside that be happy about the election. Don't let anyone dictate to you on how to feel.
Happy Election Eve People 🎉🎉🎉🎉

In my parents house today I stumbled on the Final interment brochure of one of my sister's classmates and it got me thinking 🤔. Half of the things people say about one when they die would have been nice to hear when one is still alive. ❤️❤️❤️. It's important to say kind words to anyone you get the opportunity to interact with or see. You don't have to wait for someone to die to say nice words on their funeral brochure when they can't see it. If you feel someone is special in anyway let them know. It will give them more energy to fight and survive.

Every day I look outside my window
The world is moving and I am stagnant
I look on searching for what to hold on too
Or to yell wait, let me catch up!!!
But no! The world keeps moving and I am fighting to keep up!!!
I was extremely late to the #Bridgerton party 😅. As a lecturer in a Nigerian Public University, 2021 was extremely busy for us because of the shut down in the system in 2020. Respite (or not so respite ) came in August, 2021 when religious crises broke out and we had to stay at home for the period. I finished my house chores and cooked lunch ☺️, I checked the time it was just 11am! And my kids weren't coming home until 3pm. So I chatted with my husband briefly (he too was home because of the crisis) and decided to go lay down a little bit and browse the internet. Then I went to a page that suggests latest movies (am a huge movie fan by the way 😘) the caption of their latest update read, ' if you haven't watched these series, you haven't lived ' and it caught my interest. I love a good challenge 😅. The write up featured names of series and their promotional pictures It had Merlin, Legend of the Seeker, it had animation like Avatar the last Airbender, it had Game of thrones........ Then I saw Bridgerton, first impression I got was hmmm fine poor black boy in love with a rich pretty white girl 😏 nehhhh I've seen this play out so many times especially in foreign series and it usually leaves a bitter taste, so I said I'll pass. But something caught my attention 😜, I decided to read the comment section to see what people were saying. First comment was, the greatest love story ever beautiful and interesting 🤔🤔🤔 I was like hmmmm. Next one was the Duke is one of the most handsome and talented black actors of our time, now that caught my attention 😅😜 talented, handsome and black 🖤 (don't blame me, we had just lost Chadwick Boseman and it still hurt) so I entered the website and downloaded 2 episodes first. That same time I saw Shadow and Bone being suggested and downloaded 2 episodes as well. My husband came in and asked me what I was doing and I told him I was about to watch some series I just stumbled on. In his words he said, I thought series bore you? And I said let me just give this a try and I'll let you know how I feel 💓💜💓💓. ..... To be continued 😂.........
The North Central has abundance of natural resources, arable land, hardworking and committed people. But we lack leaders with vision and purpose. If we had the likes of Wike in terms of doggedness, determination, sticking to election promises while dealing with problems at hand the North Central would have been a gem in the Sahara. But we are left with leaders who lack priorities and are not even ashamed to stand with their performing mates from the south south and South west. Look at what Wike and Sanwo-olu are doing with their states.
THE TRAVAILS OF A NIGERIAN PUBLIC UNIVERSITY LECTURER
Every night for 8 months I cried a thousand tears
What was my sin you say?
wait I'll tell you.
Every morning I watched the journalists on AIT, CHANNELS AND TVC analyse my case on the newspaper review segment, urging the APC led government to look into my plight.......are they even listening?
Wait I'll tell you.
Every day we ate what seemingly looked like the last morsel of food in our pantry, day turned to night, night turned to day. We moved from 3 square meals to 2 square meals, every meal we ate turned slowly with a prayer on our lips. Why you may ask? Wait I'll tell you.
Slowly the new school year of our kids started, books to buy! Uniforms to sew! Back to school items to purchase! The more the D day drew near, the more we increased our prayers to the creator. Why you may ask? Wait I'll tell you.
Our landlords have come again! Of all tenants they could have the misfortune of accommodating! Why you ask? Oh I'll most definitely tell you.
Did I mention people no longer pick our calls? That only family cares to call and check up? That in-laws have shifted loyalties? What sin did I commit that can be so grave you say? Hmmm please be patient with me, I'll tell you.
Some came over and they ask why on earth didn't you study to be a lawyer or a doctor or an accountant. If you had studied a professional course you wouldn't be in this predicament!!!!!
At this point allow me to take a deep breath and resist the urge to scream into the wind!!!
I am a Nigerian Public University Lecturer; there now you have your answer!!!!
That's my Sin!
I chose the noblest profession with the highest level of disregard in my country.
I chose to teach out of all the career paths available for me.
My family and I are going through this process of dehumanisation because my union dared to challenge the powers that be to do what is right by the public universities.
Their Weapon of Punishment was to deny us 9 months of pay, while they stuffed their faces with our plight and gave themselves national honour for successfully punishing the academia.
THEY LIE! WE ARE DOWN BUT NOT OUT
WE HAVE BEEN SHAMED BUT NOT BROKEN
We will rise like a phoenix from our ashes and continue to inspire the generation to come.
So yes I cry today so the next generation can laugh and soar with pride.
We won!!!!

We have come to a place and time in our nation where we need to stand up for what we want our country to be. We do not have a democracy 😐😐, we are still grappling with ideas from a military lead society!!!! A democratic government has a party in power and opposition parties who clearly step up as critics of the government in power to put them on their toes to do what is right. Is that what we have???? Now, the impasse between ASUU/FG is getting messier and I don't see the end of it soon. What's ASUU's crime? Asking for our universities to be brought up to a standard to compete with the international space!!! For this alone, ASUU members and their families, Nigerian Students mostly the children masses have been put through hell and Highwater. Meanwhile people in Government are gloating and showing off their kids graduating from Abroad universities!!!! They will continue to show off because frankly they don't care about us the masses!!!! It's time to take back what is actually ours by going to the polls 2023 and voting the candidate with a nationalistic mind view. Who seeks to bring this country back to it's original plan, who won't pocket the legislature and Judiciary to only do his will but the will of the people. Vote because YOUR VOTE WILL COUNT.

Nigerian government really need to listen to it's students body and do their best for the Nigerian Universities and their lecturers
I always start my day with a prayer and then I listen to my most favorite musician in Nigeria #2babaidibia. He's in my opinion the most intelligent and deep thinking Nigerian musician of all time. He puts me on the right track everyday, this morning I was particularly drawn to this track attached to my write up, it gives me the strength to pull through anything. It makes me feel like I can survive the harsh reality of living. Listen and tell me what you think
