I dreamt of flowers on your mouth. Screaming and yelling and Stumptown. The kisses on the cheek and art projects. A hotel room. That sour girlfriend of yours, taller than I remember. And all her sour friends. And though I’m trying to be good to her, her jealousy (is) leaving her faithless in me. She’s naive. She doesn’t understand life. But you do. We both did. And it almost killed us. Pieces of us died and I don’t know about you but I just can’t seem to bury it. Just not yet. Will I ever? I don’t know if I really want to. All the “I love you”s and “I’m sorry”s that defined us, long after I left.
