May i know more of the minamoto siblings in the reverse au?
I apologize for such a late response!
I have been restructuring this AU and redesigning characters (partially because of my lack of memory when it comes to said designs) and because I want them to be changed in a way that is different to their original version, but also can be reasonable and explainable from what we know of them.
(As such, any ideas on the AU is welcome)
Naturally, I can’t quite come up with something like that without extensive research, which I have been doing, but am not confident in, so forgive me if it’s a little confusing.
Teru and Kou are the recent sons who come from the legendary bloodline of the Minamoto clan.
Upon closer reflection on how this family of exorcists became supernaturals of such a powerful degree, it’s hard to truly find a concrete answer. A form of [alteration] occurred during the so-called reign of the second head of the clan and near the end of the Heian period; whether it was divine intervention or a cruel curse, the very form of the Minamotos had become marred as a result. This was far before either of the two were even born yet.
In such a timeline, there’s a been a significant shift in how long each clan head had lived for. While kitsune don’t die of old age, they can still die from sickness and injuries from battle. As such, it could be seen that while some of these people live long enough to [ascend], some may end up dying before that can happen, so certain generations may be cut shorter than others from cockiness, lack of awareness, or good old mother nature’s touch of death (this is explanation may or may not be changed, if I come up with something more specific).
As for Teru and Kou specifically, this is the general idea of them, their relationship, as well as how they came to and what they do in the living world.
Teru is a given a lot more years and freedoms to use to his advantage, and while he may have some of the same pressures that come with being the eldest son, there is a bit more liberty in pursuing curiosities or things that interest him for the first part of his life. Later on, he takes over more duties as he gets older in preparation for becoming the head of the clan.
He’s had his fair share of exploring the near shore.
I haven’t decided on what his opinion on humans should be like, but as of right now, he’s more disagreeable on them for either their way of life and/or his family members being killed by their hands.
Kou is a few centuries younger than Teru, and is far more interested in humans. The Minamoto clan is elusive and has truly become legend, and in this world, the clan has, in essence, is what the shrine that Nagisa Kunishige is head priest at is for. Minamotos turning into kitsunes sort of cemented them into a particular Inari shrine.
Kou has wandered about the shrine before, but hadn’t been outside of the place at all. The young are easier to die or disappear, and you’re better safe than sorry. In this sense, he’s sheltered by both Teru and his other family members. Eventually, Kou decides to explore on his own.
Kou ends up meeting Mitsuba, and he continues to stick around with him. Teru leaves the clan to go look for him.
Their disagreement in perspectives and attitudes on the near shore creates a growing gap between the two, which they will end up making up, but as of right now will be left to stew.
Kou finds interest in Kamome Academy and the life of the humans, and decides to start attending the school too. It’s neat seeing the mokke and other supernaturals around the hallways, plus the phones and technological advancements are cool to look at. Mitsuba pretty much becomes his guide to make sure Kou acts like [the hip new actually human kid], and their relationship deepens in the process. He meets Nene and the other characters as well, mostly at the school.
Teru began going to Kamome Academy as well to ensure his brother’s safety. Through Akane, he has indulged in some curiosities of the modern world, and somehow managed to secure a place to stay before the other could protest. His appearance made it so that he became popular almost overnight. He is quick to adapt to the new environment, and uses the knowledge he’s acquired over the past centuries to his advantage.
I’m not sure if that makes complete sense, but I hope this gives a little bit of clarity on my vision! Thank you so much for the ask!
