New Fat Freddy's music vid that Ryan Harte Caroline Stephen and myself helped pull the strings of Jon Coddington's kick ass marionettes!!
-Posted to jon choddington's facebook page.
Fat Freddy's Drop have turned themselves into marionettes for the video to their latest single Clean The House.
Music video director Mark Williams, aka MC Slave, said the action on screen "ticks all the bad-ass boxes - card games, drinking, gun fights and car chases."
Pulling the strings is puppeteer Jon Coddington whose theatrical puppet homage to cult film Pulp Fiction was a hit in the 2012 Wellington fringe festival.
For Clean The House Coddington sculpted pint-sized marionettes of each of the seven band members before equipping them with tiny instruments and suits designed by Nell Styling.
Williams, Freddy's' videographer and MC, first made himself a name with the video to their breakout single, Wandering Eye.
"The marionettes are so amazing it wasn't until the second day of shooting that I realised I wasn't working with the 'band'.
"Their live section performance is the best of their career and this video proves that not only are they excellent musicians, they can really act too" Williams said.
Clean The House is the second single from Blackbird, the forthcoming studio album from Fat Freddy's Drop.
The single is available now from iTunes and Blackbird is due for release in late June. - © Fairfax NZ News

Fade Dark Spots Naturally and Have Even, Luminous Skin
With patience and consistency, a beautiful complexion is possible for nearly anyone.
Dark spots on the face are a problem for people of all ages and ethnicities. These overly pigmented blotches can come from sun exposure, trauma (scrapes, bug bites, scars), hormonal changes, acne, and medications. Although brown spots are considered difficult to erase, many people have made this happen by consistently applying sun protection and skin brighteners.
Skin brighteners are available as prescription and over-the-counter compounds, but these can contain unsafe ingredients. Another option is to use skin lighteners from your pantry and refrigerator that are safe enough to eat: horseradish, lemons, and yogurt.
1. Horseradish
How to use it: Get a pint of cold buttermilk and an ounce of fresh horseradish root. Steep the horseradish in the buttermilk for four hours. Remove the horseradish root. Apply the liquid to the entire face two or three times a day. Put the treatment in a closed container and keep refrigerated.
How it works: The Vitamin C in horseradish slows production of melanin, the substance responsible for skin pigmentation. Another ingredient in horseradish is glucosinolates. Existing only in the mustard family of plants, glucosinolates increase circulation, work as antioxidants, and flush waste from the body.
2. Lemons
How to use them: Many cultures use lemons as a folk remedy for dark spots on the skin, so recipes abound. A popular and simple approach is to cut a lemon in half and gently smooth it over the freshly cleaned face. Blot off any excess juice.
How they work: Like horseradish, lemons are a source of Vitamin C. Besides slowing melanin production, the high concentration of Vitamin C in lemons boosts the health and overall beauty of the skin.
3. Yogurt
How to use it: After washing your face, put on a thin coating of plain, unflavored yogurt. Leave this mask on for 20 minutes; then rinse.
How it works: The naturally occurring lactic acid found in yogurt gently removes dead skin cells. As the discolored skin sloughs off, fresh healthy skin is revealed. While some experts go so far as to suggest that yogurt can fade spots deeper in the skin, others say that yogurt’s lactic acid level is too low. In any case, the fresh skin revealed by the yogurt looks brighter and can better absorb other skin lighteners.
When using any skin lightening approach—whether doctor-supervised or homemade—keep a few points in mind:
Shield your dark spots from sun exposure. As the old hyperpigmented skin flakes off, the young light skin that takes its place will have less protection from sunlight. Wear a hat, apply antioxidants and sunscreens, and avoid sun exposure from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Be prepared for gradual progress. Even the most potent prescription treatments may take weeks or months to fade dark spots. The skin has a fairly slow natural timetable for renewal. Eventually your patience and consistency will be rewarded.
Don’t irritate your skin. The skin on the face—where most dark blotches appear—is thin and often delicate. In general, natural ingredients are safe. Even so, they can irritate the skin if used too aggressively or on sensitive skin types. Keep a close eye on your skin’s reaction to lightening treatments, and ease up if you see any redness or lasting discomfort.
Be positive! Many people have succeeded in fading their dark blotches, and you can too.

DIY hair treatments for you (natural option)
Deep Conditioners for Hair: The Top Three Homemade Treatments
Supple, radiant hair is attainable.
If your hair is dry, damaged, brittle, or over-processed, why not try a homemade deep conditioningtreatment? You can mend your hair for a fraction of the cost of using salon or drug store products, and you probably have the ingredients in your kitchen. Whether you choose an egg, mayonnaise, or oil pack, your hair and budget will both bounce back.
1. Egg. (Deep Conditioning Egg Treatment)
How it works: Eggs are rich in protein, a component of hair, so eggs restore and nourish your strands. Eggs are also renowned as one of nature's best moisturizers.
How to use it: Take 2 egg yolks, 2 teaspoons of a vegetable oil (olive oil is good), and 1/8 cup of water. (You may want to double or halve these amounts, depending on the length and texture of your hair.) Mix well and apply to hair after shampooing. Leave the mixture on for at least 15 minutes. Rinse with cool (not warm) water.
2. Mayonnaise. (Mayonnaise Mask for Distressed Hair)
How it works: The main ingredients in mayonnaise are eggs, vinegar, and oil. Each one of these elements is good for hair in its own right. Eggs nourish and fortify, vinegar adds shine, and oil moisturizes and protects. The mixture addresses all the problems of distressed hair.
How to use it: Apply about 1/2 cup of mayonnaise to your dry hair. (Avoid the scalp if your hair tends to be oily.) Massage in thoroughly, and then cover your hair with a disposable shower cap, plastic bag, or plastic wrap. For deep penetration, cover the plastic layer with a hot towel. Allow the mayonnaise to stay on for at least 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and then shampoo as usual.
3. Oil. (Homemade Hot Oil Treatment)
How it works: Hot oil is widely recognized as powerful therapy for damaged hair. The heat causes the hair to open and allows the oil to penetrate deeply. The oil softens, nourishes, moisturizes, and protects the strands. Oil is a good vegan option for those who don't use eggs.
How to use it: The best choice is virgin coconut oil, an ingredient that is solid at room temperature but liquefies when slightly warmer. Olive oil is also excellent for hair. If neither is available, any vegetable oil will work. Heat 1/4 cup of the oil until it is very warm to the touch but not uncomfortably hot. Apply the oil to your hair, section by section, to condition all areas evenly. If you tend to have oily hair, leave the oil off your scalp. Wrap your hair with a plastic bag or wrap to keep in the treatment and warmth. For even better results, cover with a hot towel from the dryer. Leave the oil on your hair for at least half an hour. Shampoo thoroughly until your hair is clean but not stripped.
These do-it-yourself treatments are safe, gentle, and natural, but that doesn't mean that they're ineffective. They're packed full of high-performing proteins, vitamins, and emollients. Your hair will look and feel better after one use, but treat it once a week to keep your hair in top condition.

…in advance against the wearisome question:
how long did this take you?
An effective counter-measure would be an other measure of work. The following reply should suffice:
My dear, Time is a whore. Thread is tangible. I used over one kilometre of thread. I stitched, on average, two threads per centimetre, ergo twenty per ten centimetres, ergo two hundred per metre, ergo two thousand per ten metres, ergo twenty thousand per one hundred metres, which brings us to the grand total of over two hundred thousand stitches.
