I'm 18 years old. I'm currently a second semester freshmen in college. I live in upstate New York. My amazing boyfriend is a United States Marine. And this blog is where I keep all of my "MilSO" posts at, well, for the most part. Well, enjoy following our love story, and ask me anything that you want! :)
I donāt have too many followers on here and I know I havenāt been around lately, but Iām back to just give an update on my life. So, Aaron and I got married on December 27th, 2014! His sister married us in a small botanical garden, about 30 people came, and we went out to dinner with family and friends afterwards.
Aaron came home for the first time this year around Thanksgiving. He had just finished up in San Diego, had his orders, but was able to make his way home before he checked into the fleet. We had a good time while he was home that time around, but it was stressful because I was heading into my finals week.
We were truly blessed for him to have been able to come home for...
Christmas and our wedding. Oh, by the way, he was given orders to Fort Worth, Texas...itās a reservist station in Fort Worth, which happens to be very close to Dallas and Arlington - they refer to the whole area as the āmetroplexā.
We've been married for almost three months now and it still doesn't seem entirely real. Itās so hard to be almost 2,000 miles apart when youāre newlyweds. However, I did go to see him over my spring break for the entire week and I couldn't have been more happy to be with my husband. Iām not sure how long it will take me to get used to saying that, but Iām sure that Iāll never lose the butterflies that my hubby gives me. (Sorry for the cheesy moment.)
While I was visiting him we did a ton of shit. We visited the botanical gardens of Fort Worth. visited the University of Texas at Arlington, looked at apartments, did our first shopping trip together, went to four different malls, he introduced me to the heaven that is Pie Five, spent $120 on his birthday dinner (March 7th), and we did a ton of cuddling and had a good amount of sex.
I honestly enjoyed Texas so much more than I ever thought was possible. I was sure that I would dislike it because there wouldn't be much to do. But like said above, we visited four malls...what fucking area even has that many HUGE malls close together like that?! Thereās the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, the Texas Ranger Stadium, the American Airlines Center, a Six Flags, a zoo that Iām super excited about visiting, three awesome downtown areas, and endless amounts of amazing food.
Iām currently a sophomore at a college in Western New York, but will be transferring to the University of Texas at Arlington in the Fall. Iām a communications major and Iām really looking forward to all of the opportunities that I know the āmetroplexā will have to offer me. I am a little terrified because for the past two years I've gone to a college that has 2,700 students and the school I will be attending has 35,000. But after visiting, Iām a little more at ease with the idea of such a big change.
Well, with that little update I hope anyone who reads this is doing well. I think about posting all the time, but I truly just donāt have the time. It does feel amazing to actually write this little timeline/update out though; sometimes I canāt straighten out my thoughts and writing them out really helps me. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this!
1. Treat each other with kindness and respect
2. Be open and honest; donāt lie or hide the truth
3. Communicate your true thoughts and feelings with each other (especially those related to your relationship)
4. Be nice to each other, and aim to make them smile
5. Say āsorryā when you need to ā...
Weād sit around doing nothing in particular and youād look at me and smile. Iād ask why, and youād respond with āno reasonā. But I thought I knew, because I too would often sneak glances at you and couldnāt help but smile because I felt so lucky to have you.
I hope you thought the same of me (via wordsmaketheheartgrowfonder)
I like her. She makes life interesting. She, herself, is interesting, I suppose. She talks right from the heart. I appreciate her frankness and I like the fact that she doesnāt force the natural flow of a conversation. Thereās personality in her words. She thus gets to the core of things and thatās important because with her ā I can talk knowing that the talk is real! Oh believe me, itās amazingly real! And she also gives me the oportunity to listen as fully and completely as possible. And I canāt seem to get her out of my head [ā¦]

Iāve often seen people share that quote, something like āgetting married at 22 is kind of like leaving a party at 9:30.ā This does not offend me. I agree. I left with the hottest and funnest person at the party and we picked up a pizza on the way home and are snuggled up watching Mad Men together, and everyone else is still at the party getting super wasted and barfing on themselves and making regrettable decisions.
