Sega Channel was a software streaming service for Genesis/Mega Drive, first made available in 1994. It allowed subscribers to download and play games saved to a flash memory cartridge. Unfortunately, the ROMs were deleted upon powering-down the console. Sega Channel was strictly a streaming service - NetPlay is something that Sega wouldn’t pioneer until SegaNet in 1998.
