MAGICAL. An apt description for the stars and the universe which contained them. Eddie’s smile broadened, exceedingly pleased to realise that she, too, understood. Astronomy was such an overlooked subject, and undeservingly so. Really, how could anyone not be fascinated by space? How could anyone not fall in love with the vast, endless possibilities it presented?
They nodded in response to her question, but wondered if Marisol had managed to interpret their pointing out that this project was for class. Eddie pointed a finger at her, then raised their eyebrows expectantly (HOW COME YOU’RE NOT?).
Marisol had become an expert in reading between the lines over the years, in reading body language and what went unsaid. A skill she picked up to survive in the atmosphere that she’d grown up in. It had helped her get out of dicey situations before and now it was nice to be able to use it for things that were far more friendly in nature for she did wish to properly communicate with Eddie. So she incorporated them to get a gist of what they were saying, or least make a noble attempt at it.
“What, me? I do like astronomy, but I didn’t think of joining the club because, well, I wasn’t sure I’d really belong. I never joined any clubs. Truth be told. But do you think I should? Or even could, rather? I don’t even know if there’s a time restriction on these things or if I can just show up.”
