Girldad!Chris Redfield who never particularly cared about the babies gender, but the moment he saw the pink strawberry-flavoured frosting inside a cupcake you two shared on your babyshower he felt like he could explode from the amount of emotions coursing through his body.
Girldad!Chris Redfield who felt like he was under a spell when he first noticed - REALLY noticed - your baby bump when it started peeking out from every top you wore and how nicely your dresses hugged your figure.
He couldn’t get enough, always creeping his hands from behind to caress your bump.
Girldad!Chris Redfield who didn’t let you lift a finger throughout your whole pregnancy, always making sure you were comfortable.
Infirmary? He build and painted everything himself every chance that he got, no matter how tired and sore he was from work. The most he let you do was decorate the room and some light exercising early in your pregnancy, which proved to be difficult when your legs started swelling and you were constantly feeling tired.
Chris then sat infront of his computer and spent half of his workdays searching for tips to make you feel more comfortable.
Girldad!Chris Redfield loves talking to his baby, always resting his head in your lap or chest and mumbling to the tiny baby growing inside of you, grinning whenever he feels her kick against his hand - almost like out of protest to something he had said.
Girldad!Chris Redfield who went through all ups and downs with you throughout the whole 9 months. All your cravings, vomiting and mood swings.
Especially your mood swings. Don’t get me wrong, he loves you more than anything in the world but he felt like dying when you started crying and yelling at him for breathing „too loudly” into your ear when trying to fall sleep.
He knew arguing would do nothing so he just accepted his fate by sleeping on the couch that night.
Girldad!Chris Redfield who makes sure to be there at every doctor’s appointment. He sits in the waiting room and always takes every parenthood pamphlet scattered on the table beside him.
He reads them like his life depended on it, legs crossed and his reading glasses resting low on his nose as he learns about the correct way to breastfeed a baby and colic syndrome.
Girldad!Chris Redfield who had always been a light sleeper - something you started to doubt whenever he started snoring like a bear and wouldn’t move an inch for 8 hours straight.
He was up the moment you let out a small gasp when your water broke after you tried getting up to go to the bathroom. Poor guy was so stressed that he not only forgot to take all your bags, but also almost drove off to the hospital without you.
Girldad!Chris Redfield who refused to leave your side for longer than 5 minutes after arriving at the hospital, helping you with different exercises to ease the pain that worsened by the hour.
He could swear that you fractured one of his bones with how hard you were squeezing his hand and cursing him out for putting you through such pain.
Girldad!Chris Redfield who cried when he heard your newborn crying for the first time, laying on your chest while Chris stroke your hair, praising and thanking you for giving him another reason to keep going.
Girldad!Chris Redfield who refused to let her go when he first got to hold her, eyes still glistening as he admires her little features that reminded him of you.
In that moment he realised that this is what he wanted all along, something he needed more than anything. A family to come home to.
Girldad!Chris Redfield who early in the morning managed to slip away into a hallway when you and the baby were deep asleep to call his sister. His voice cracked from emotion when he finally got to tell her that she’s finally here.
Girldad!Chris Redfield’s daughter who came out… surprisingly tiny. Considering her dad is 6’1” and 220 pounds of pure muscles, she was practically drowning in her carseat when you got to take her home.
Girldad!Chris Redfield who couldn’t sleep the next few nights. Not because of the newborn crying for milk and a diaper change every 2 hours, but mostly because the feeling of not being good enough managed to creep in every now and then.
He spent his nights overthinking their future only for you to bring him back to his senses with your tired smile and the newborn against your chest.
Girldad!Chris Redfield who managed to soften after her birth and overcame his heavy stubbornness. Chris quit his job in the field and went on to have a desk job at the BSAA.
He realised that the secret funds he kept in a bank incase he died on one of his missions would never replace him as a father to his daughter.
Girldad!Chris Redfield who renamed the funds to his daughters name.
Girldad!Chris Redfield who was an absolute mess when everyone came to visit you two for the first time to see the baby.
You kept on telling him to calm down but he couldn’t sit still for more than a minute, reminding everyone to wash and disinfect their hands before touching the baby and shooting a glare at everyone that dared to let out a cough or sneeze near her.
Girldad!Chris Redfield who somehow found himself absolutely loving playing dress up with your little girl.
You two managed to come back from every shopping trip with atleast 2 new pieces of clothing to add to her collection.
Girldad!Chris Redfield who now has 3 girls in his life that he adores more than life itself
