Séjour is a minimal collection of self-care objects created by Lausanne-based designer Céverine Girard. Séjour is a set of appliances for frequent travelers, designed to bring home comfort in your luggage. The unisex set is composed of a razor, a hair dryer and a hair straightener, that all work thanks to a single wire. The case is compact and easy to slide into a suitcase. Made from FluidSolids® injected biopolymers, each object is thought to be easily assembled and disassembled, thus recyclable.
Clearview Chalet | AKB
Nestled on the edge of the Nottawasaga Bay in Ontario, Canada, is the lovely Clearview Chalet. The modest yet stunning home was designed by AKB, an architecture studio based in Toronto. Due to budget restrictions, the design focused on practicality and modesty without sacrificing style.
The modern dwelling is a simple, two-story structure built into the hillside. The dark exterior, constructed in economic board and batten siding, contrasts beautifully with the snowy landscape. A metal A-frame roof defines the shape of the home while protecting the home from all that snow. The entrance is hidden in a recessed portion of the façade, which doubles as a convenient spot to store firewood.
While the home’s exterior is dark and bold, the interior is white and bright. This inversion of colours is a clever way to make the home stand out on the outside but blend in on the inside: large windows extend the white interior into the snowy landscape. Just as on the exterior, the interior is constructed from modest materials. Concrete floors, oak woodwork, and white walls are the main features. The living space is centred around a wood fireplace, perfect for staying cozy on cold nights.
Brass Dustpan and Broom is a minimalist dustpan created by Sydney-based designer Studiokyss. With the idea between, decorative & functional and the ability to transcend both craft & design mediums, Kenny of Studiokyss is interested in creating work that has the ability to interact physically and emotionally with the users, essentially giving longevity to the object. The dustpan is constructed of Tassie oak, brass, and horse tail. A single brass notch extends from the dustpan to not only prevent slipping, but to hang the broom when not in use.

Stefan Marjanovic for SBODIO32 at Milan Design Week 2016 The unique dado of this bowl evokes a time long before the lustrous metals were discovered, hammered and shaped by hand to create home objects. It takes us back to ancient history when each piece of pottery meant the difference between craft and nature. Designer has enveloped this vessel of minimal, primordial shadow with an avant-garde perspective that defies the laws of time: unexpected angles among curves with a smooth exterior that’s all about modernity and the digital age. The contrast is provocative – filled with fruit, no one will ever grab an apple or a Kumquat without a wry twinkle from this bowl and a quiet nod to timeless style. All eyes will be drawn to this face of self-confidence. Low hung and chiseled from a single piece of wood, it invites esteems of never-ending creativity. Think of it as your own whole-hearted, richly grained blank canvas, just waiting for all kinds of expressions. Caution: this may be addictive.

Modest example of product design, this serving tray represents precisely that – performing above and beyond utility in similar trays. Its modesty lies in the architectural allegory of the overall form. The outward, visible ‘manifesto’ of a general rejection of all things traditional, it serves a more prosaic function. It is, first and foremost, steady carrier of any cargo you might dispense on it, along with the cutting edge art of the modern variety. Made of tough, eye-pleasing wood, this tray expresses a ironic commentary on design and the impact of architecture on a granular level. Of course, it’s up to you to serve gourmet delights on this suggestive plane to equal its imagination. http://marjanov.tumblr.com/
Stefan Marjanovic for SBODIO32 at Milan Design Week 2016 A stunning vase with or without any kind of floral arrangement. Elegant craftsmanship brings to the fore the raw beauty of the material and softness of the design. Finished in a rugged fashion, with a painstakingly hand-made appearance, while minimalist in aesthetic, the simple design of this vase displays an uncommon attention to detail. A smooth, chipped wooden finish, with a purposeful dent in its side lends character, further transforming the vase into an artful sculpture as beautiful displayed on its own, or with dried or fresh flowers.
