Hey Mark! It's not my birthday, but it is my dog Comet's Birthday so I was wondering if you had any trivia about Comet, Stellar Pup for him?

Players had been asking for a dog planeswalker for years, and with Unfinity I saw my chance. It was key that it was a normal dog, so I created a design where he did what he wanted.

Mark, the depth of the Marvel set is staggering. The Jumpstart is blowing me away. I don't even know what kind of high fives are appropriate, and we haven't even seen the decks, but this is so incredible. I don't even know where I will begin in the best way.

The Jumpstart lead was Daniel Xu. I consulted with him as a Marvel SME, but he was the one that oversaw it all. And yeah, lots of really fun cards.

Can you give a little insight why so many of the Jumpstart designs were in a single IGN article on a Sunday? I'm sure there was a reason, but they are *incredible* and I was shocked they weren't part of a more formal rollout. I'm assuming this is a play at the less enfranchised audience?

We just had a lot of things to reveal and only so long to reveal them. The Jumpstart cards are really cool and do have a lot of fun inclusions.

hey mark! today is my birthday, and for my birthday party im running a cube with friends. anything you can tell me about my favorite card in the cube, colossification?

Colossification came about because we liked the idea that the “giant monster” themed set had the largest aura in history.

How do people feel about cards like stark industries executive? It is a non legendary card that clearly depicts pepper Potts. She would not have gotten a card if not for the common but you can’t use her as a commander and the flavor text only implies it is her so people may feel let down? What do you and other think about depicting legendary creatures in the way of they would otherwise not get a card. Could you just put her in the art of another card like an enchantment or instant?

The legendary rule makes it hard to make a lot of common legendary creatures, so we have to find work arounds. In properties with lots and lots of named characters, we’d rather picture characters you know than random people, so we name the card as a larger archetype that the character is a good example of.

With the current parameters, we think this is the best options. How do you all feel?

Double Masters famously had 10 three-color archetypes. Would something like that work in a premier set? Or would such a structure work in a supplemental set only?

It’s a bit too complicated for a premier set.

King T’Challa has flash on both his faces, but his transform is sorcery speed. Is there any reason behind this? Is it to make him more consistent with the other flip legends in MSH?

Yes.

Unrules question: When I draw something one a card, am I the artist of it?

You are. Note you can do this with tokens, you can’t just draw on a card with an illustration and call yourself the artist.
