I've been asked why I started. I don't know how to tell them, How I've known since I was young, How I knew I'd pick up this bad habit, No matter how I was so adamant I wouldn't. Why Marlboro? Maybe another time.

I've been asked why I started. I don't know how to tell them, How I've known since I was young, How I knew I'd pick up this bad habit, No matter how I was so adamant I wouldn't. Why Marlboro? Maybe another time.
Wondering why helps pass time. Why I did things, Why things happened, Why I think the way I do. Why not imagine the future, As I roll down through my town. I know it won't do nothing for it, But it passes the time nicely.
There was once a little girl who wanted peace, So she tried to make it herself. Only to realize peace will never be an option for her. One can only thrive in chaos and pain, The world has no room for peace, And those who cannot make peace with their misery have only doomed themselves to a needless struggle. Death is awaiting our arrival, Only we can hinder it for now. Each time I pick up a cigarette, I am one step closer to greeting my gods, And I want to live long enough to give them a good story.
The world revolves around each and every one of us. All in different ways, on an axis that we never knew. I hold the smoke in my lungs and let the burning ease my throat. As I release I find myself calmer than I was before. Maybe one day I will be able to release the tightness in my chest. For now I will let the cigarette ease the chaos in my mind with it's smoke tearing up my lungs. One by one, day by day, I dug my grave willingly.
