When I say he likes anime that are "popular for the wrong reasons," I’m definitely talking about those ecchi and harem shows where the girls basically just exist for a plain MC. You know the ones that have girls just to make male fantasies a reality, kind of like The Quintessential Quintuplets. Ash actually has a keychain of one of the girls from that exact type of show, and yes, she is his favourite(Not in a weird way I swear..maybe just a little)

But his taste isn't just limited to that! Growing up, he was actually a massive Naruto fan. He had zero real-life role models, so he built his entire character and moral compass on the cartoons and anime he watched. Naruto was his absolute hero, and he really internalized that strong sense of justice and the whole "never give up" attitude.

Because of that, he was totally the type of kid who would literally scream at other kids if they stepped on bugs, and he was always jumping in to defend kids who were getting bullied. He usually ended up getting in trouble for it, but to him, it was always completely worth it. Obviously, if you look at him in the game now, he’s changed.He would absolutely love if MC was an anime fan as well.

If the MC had a scene aesthetic, Ash would definitely be a bit struck by it at first. He is so used to blending into the background in his faded flannels and dirty work aprons that a bold, colorful style would catch him off guard. Because he is secretly a huge anime nerd, he would LOVE the bright hair and heavy accessories(would remind him something from anime) He would never admit it out loud right away, of course. He’d probably tease the MC about their hair or accessories just to cover up how flustered he actually is.

As for the dynamic of being super talkative online but incredibly shy in person, Ash would actually completely misread the situation at first. Because he is currently in such a dark headspace and constantly expects people to push him away, he would immediately assume the MC is just ignoring him or totally uninterested.

But once it finally clicks for him that the MC is just genuinely shy in person, his whole demeanor would shift. It would instantly disarm his defensive walls.

He would definitely drop a few sarcastic comments, teasing them about how much of a menace they are over text compared to how quiet they are face to face. Ultimately, seeing the MC's vulnerability in person would make him feel incredibly safe. It would show him that they are both hiding behind a screen in their own ways, which would give him the patience to slowly draw the MC out of their shell while they do the exact same thing for him.

Will we ever get to learn what happened in the bad ending ? Like, why did he do that? I loved that mysterious guy so much, and then I immediately got killed🥀 (i still love him, though)

2. Has Ash ever been in a relationship before? In his character description, it says that he hates people who leave, and his favorite character represents unconditional love. Is that because of a past relationship, or is it related to trauma from an ex, a friend, or a family member?

To clear up a little confusion about Bad End 1. MC actually doesn't die! I know I left it a bit ambiguous before, but you're really just getting knocked out. Despite how intense and dark the situation gets, this mysterious man would absolutely never want you dead.

What actually happens in that moment is that he spots the train coming and realizes the jig is up. He knows you’re going to immediately figure out he lied to you about it not coming. Because he knows your first instinct will be to run away the second you realize the truth, he acts out of pure desperation. He knocks you out just to stop you from escaping and to ensure you stay right there with him.

QUESTION 2

Honestly, to say Ash has a "dating history" is a pretty huge stretch. Back in high school, he had a few girlfriends, but those lasted a month at most.

It usually went like this:

Girl:"Want to date?"

Ash:"Sure, why not."

He was attracted to people he dated but that's about it.

These days, between his crazy work hours and just being generally exhausted, he puts zero effort into connecting with people. He deliberately keeps things super casual because he’s terrified of anyone actually getting close to him.

All of this stems from a really deep bond he had with someone during his childhood. When that person left, it completely broke him. The really tragic part is that because this happened when he was just a kid, it literally wired his developing brain to expect everyone to leave him. If he had gone through that kind of loss as an adult, he probably would have been secure enough to process it and move on. His trauma stems not only from that one person but I can't say more as it will spoil some of his backstory.

Deep down, he’s believes that all love has conditions. He genuinely believes that if a real person got close to him, they'd eventually judge him for his dead-end job, his drinking, or just his general messiness, and then they'd walk away. In his ideal world, someone would just love him and stay by his side absolutely no matter what, but he doesn't believe that actually exists in reality.

He believes that love is conditional because people who supposed to have been loving him unconditional didn't,

That’s exactly why he relies on fictional characters. It’s basically the ultimate safe relationship. A fictional character isn't going to get mad at him for being late, she won't judge him for drinking, and she doesn't care that he works at a convenience store. She is just always there for him unconditionally, and he gets to have that comfort without having to spend any emotional energy being there for her. It gives him the illusion of love with absolutely zero risk of being abandoned again.

​If MC decided to swear just as much as he does, it would turn into an endless competition of who could insult the other worse. Ash would act like it gets on his nerves, but secretly, all that verbal sparring would totally keep him going as he is not used to people entertaining his behaviour except for some close friends .

If MC has a dirtier mouth than he does, he would be surprised as he is the way that he is because of the environment he grew up in . Ash would think of a comeback for a very long time and use it when mc already forgotten about the conversation.

​But what if MC was just as nasty and messy as he is?

​Ash really does not care what MC does in the privacy of her own room, except for one big thing. He draws a firm line at actual filth like mould and rotten food. Normal clutter does not bother him, but genuine filth is a huge problem.

​The crazy irony here is that Ash is an absolute disaster when left alone. He needs a person would scream at him to clean. He knows deep down that sharing a space with someone as messy as he is would turn the house into a literal dump.

He is kind of hypocritical like that, yeah.

Ash would actually be super offended to be called a weeb lol, he considers himself a very defensive "moderate consumer," though you'll definitely see his anime merch and posters in future updates! He mostly watches action shows, but the keychain girl (Kiara) is from a super popular slice-of-life anime.

He's not entirely obsessed with her, but he does have a bit of a parasocial attachment to her character. Ash craves a strong support system, and Kiara represents unconditional love and someone who will never judge him and, most importantly, can never leave him.

He is also a member of an anime club.

Honestly it's almost definitely the second one, he's 100% just saying that stuff to push your buttons . You really don't have to worry about him actually holding any sexist views.

The thing with Ash is that he knows exactly who he's messing with. Since the MC is around his own age, you guys are on equal footing. He knows you can take it and dish it right back, which is exactly the kind of banter he thrives on. He would never pull that kind of edgy crap with a kid or an older customer at the store. Underneath that scruffy and annoyed exterior, he actually has decent boundaries.

He drops those out of pocket lines with you purely to get a reaction because bickering is how he naturally connects with people. It is his weird way of interacting without having to drop his guard or be genuinely vulnerable. Plus he clearly just loves teasing. For a guy stuck working grueling twelve hour shifts, getting some type of excitement is what keeps him going.

 If you ever got genuinely upset or hurt by something he said, he would drop the act immediately. The teasing would stop right then and there and you would literally never hear him make a joke like that again. His whole goal is just fun banter.

The funny thing is that we don't get hit by a train, LOL. I guess I wrote it badly, as it was meant to show that he just lied to us about the train not coming and knocks us out.
