Marshmallows Against Misogyny was a social movement developed by fans of Veronica Mars in July 2019 in an effort to challenge pervasive misogyny in the television industry.
Our vision was to establish accountability among TV creatives and executives through MAM’s The New Standard framework, while challenging misogyny and racism, and how the issues of ableism, mental health, sexual assault, and trauma are represented on TV.
We have decided that the Mars Against Mis website will shut down on July 26, 2020 due to costs to keep it online. Our social media accounts (@MarsAgainstMis) will remain available, as well as our email account ([email protected]), in case you would like to contact us and/or share ideas related to MAM.
While MAM’s role has ended, the battle continues: we must dismantle these large-scale issues that are commonplace throughout the entertainment industry. We hope you will join us in that fight, in whatever way makes sense to you.
Thank you to every person who made contributions to Mars Against Mis and to those who supported us from the sidelines. We have archived all our content for safe keeping. We will look back on this project fondly and know that our collective efforts did not go unnoticed and were not for lack of trying.
Our story was epic.
Take care and stay safe out there.
