With a warm smile, he looked between May and MJ when his wife placed his hand over their daughterâs belly. There Mary Jane went again knowing all the right things to say and knowing how to say them. He was positive that it was near impossible for him to ever feel bad around his wife because somehow, always, she knew just the right thing to tell him. Even when he hadnât said anything at all. It was like she could read his mind and something in her own mind immediately knew what to tell him. It worked. Every time, it worked without fail. She had that kind of talent and it was a talent that he had stopped questioning long ago. Just like when she began to tell him that she didnât regret any of this - being with him, marrying him, having a child with him. She was quick to reassure him that she didnât regret it. One of his biggest worries ever since they got together, was that she would end up regret being with him. It wasnât easy being with Peter Parker. This was something that he knew and that she knew. It was why he had broken up with her so many times before. But by now, Peter knew that she meant it whenever she told him that she could never regret what they had. He believed her. But it was always reassuring and nice to hear it from her. Especially right now, where he worried that their daughter inheriting his powers could lead to some very bad things. âI know,â he replied, leaning in and kissing her cheek. âI know. And Iâm very lucky. But until the day I die, Iâll still keep making sure that this life with me isnât one you could ever regret. May too.â
Of course it was scary thinking about May going through the same things Peter went through. How could it not be? Peter faced a lot of hardships. Too many for one person and as a mother, the thought of May going through the same things was too scary for her. Looking down at their sleeping toddler, Mary Jane leaned forward and kissed May on the head sweetly. She lovingly tucked a stray curl from May's hair. May was so much like her physically, but personality-wise and now inheriting his powers, May was very much like her father. Smiling at Peter and cupping his cheek, she stroked his jaw with her thumb lovingly and leaned over May to peck him on the lips. "Get some rest," she encouraged him. "We're... going to have quite a bit to do tomorrow," she said with a sigh as she thought about all the things they were going to have to modify for a super-powered toddler. "You're going to have to use that noggin of yours fix up this apartment," MJ said, already seeing everything that May could easily get into with her powers. MJ then sat up and glanced over at Peter. "You might also have to teach her how to reel back her strength," MJ muttered, shuddering at how easy it could be for May to rip something apart not realizing the kind of strength she had. "What if she accidentally rips all of my hair out of my scalp?" she wondered, knowing May loved grasping her hair and tugging it.
