âNothing,â you muttered, picking at the small napkin under your glass, before pressing the question out. âHow come you never really date anyone?â
âWhat do you mean?â
âI mean, since weâve known each other, youâve never had a serious girlfriend. Just casual hook-ups or flings. Why is that?â
or, you and Jake are friends. Just friends

Jake: All good. Talk to you later.
âWhatâs wrong with you?â
âWhat?âÂ
You looked up from your phone to see your co-worker Patrick giving you a look. The way he was leaning into the door of your office, which you hadnât even heard opening, told you that heâd been standing there for a while.
âYouâve been staring at your phone for like, ten minutes. Whatâs up with you?â
With a sigh, you flipped your phone over so the screen was facing away from you, leaning your head into your hands.Â
âJakeâs just come back from his mission.â
âOh,â Patrick echoed, shutting the door behind as he sat down across from you, his eyebrows raised. âIs he okay?â
âHe says he is, but heâs being extremely cryptic about it,â you groaned, picking your phone up yet again, to show Patrick the message. He frowned at your phone, before side-eying you. You dropped your phone on the desk, waiting for his opinion.
âThereâs nothing cryptic about it.â
âIt just sounds like heâs trying to hide something from me.â
âGirl, you should have told him how you felt about him before he left for that mission.â
Eddie Munson x Shy!Reader, the gangs all here for the first half, bad description of fighting
WC: 1.5k ish
A/N: Hi! I've been absolutely head over heels for Eddie Munson at the moment so ta-da! Anyway I have no idea if this is even good but enjoy I guess
Everyone constantly told Eddie how baffling it was that you decided to be with him, and he agreed. Half of your friend group had threatened to do terrible things to him if he ever so much as blinked at you wrong, Steve and Dustin specifically saying things he'd never repeat. But it had been almost a year now in your relationship, and he was definitely in love. He hadn't said it yet, a little piece of his mind telling him if he finally admitted it to your face you'd leave. He knew it was ridiculous, but he couldn't seem to shake it.
I mean, you were so sweet, so soft and precious. He couldn't bear the idea of scaring you away. You were the type of girl he never even let himself daydream of having. You had somehow quietly worked your way into his life as his friend. Dustin had to be the one to convince him to finally ask you out. He'll never forget the beaming smile you gave him when he finally did. You fit in with the group well. The kids loved you as you quickly turned into a big sister figure for them. Robin had become your best friend, if she wasn't with Steve, then she was with you. He enjoyed the dynamic you two had, he'd be practicing his guitar while you drew something with bright markers. Your drawings adorned his walls, a bright contrast to his metal posters.
He never thought he could love you more, but he was so wrong. You two were walking through town, hand in hand behind the others. Steve and Robin were arguing about something but you hadn't been paying much attention. Eddie's head was turned the other way as he and Dustin debated bout the next session of their campaign. You had looked over and seen a few girls snickering. You were used to that reaction when you were walking with Eddie, people were always looking, whispering. A lot of people in Hawkins thought of Eddie as a 'freak' and you'd come to get used to it, mostly.
You hear them whisper, albeit not so subtly, as you walk by. "Why is he even with her? It's kinda pathetic." The blonde one says with a smirk. You've seen her around, but not enough to remember a name.
"God I know! Like what could she ever see in a loser freak like him?" They giggle at each other at the idea. Now, normally, you can let comments about your relationship slide. Eddie had warned you as things got more serious, that people would talk, they did when it came to him. He was worried after all. All you did was take his hand and smile up at him softly, replying that you in fact didn't care what others had to say about your relationship. But for some reason, today this comment bothered you. Deeply. Maybe you could say it was because you had a bad week, but you knew what you were about to do was because you loved him, and you were sick and tired of hearing people spew mean things about Eddie.
You silently let go of Eddie's hand, drifting away and towards the two girls. Eddie's head turns to see where you're headed as he continues to debate with Dustin. You walk up to the two girls and throw on your best fake smile. "Hi! I thought I heard you two say something as we passed and I just wanted to make sure I heard you right. Can you repeat that for me?" You ask, as Eddie's eyes widen. No one would ever expect you to confront anyone, much less on a whim without a plan. You're smiling at the girls, asking them to repeat themselves nicely, but your eyes hold a fire no one in the group has seen before.
The girls look over at you, the blonde one smirks again as she answers. "Yeah, I said I can't believe a loser like Eddie Munson managed to even get a girlfriend. I wouldn't be surprised if he was paying you just to be near him. He's a drug-dealing, cult leading freak."
Your body moves on instinct, fueled by rage. Your fist connects with her cheek. Your form is sloppy, your swing a little wide, but you get the point across. Before you can start to yell at her about how much you do in fact love Edddie, her friend had let out a gasp and jumped to her aid. Before you know it your in an all out brwal on the sidewalk. Your hand grabs a fistful of hair, your other arm swinging wildly. They land a few blows, the fight not lasting long at all before a strong arm wraps around you and yanks you back. It takes an extra tug for you to let go of the blonde's hair and pull you back.
"Woah woah! It's me!" You hear Eddie say as you turn in his grasp, it takes you a moment to realize he's pulled you away and it's not another person joining in. You turn back to the two girls, looking disheveled and pissed. "Keep my boyfriend's name out of your fucking mouth." You all but snarl as Eddie pulls you back some more, creating further distance. The girls huff and walk the other way, not willing to get into another scuffle.
Robin is the first one to ask, "What the hell was that?" The group is looking at you, mostly with concern. The rage and adrenaline seeps out of you, down your body and absorbed through the cracks of the sidewalk. You explain in a timid voice, "They were talking about Eddie."
Eddie smiles softly, his arm still around you. Before the others can press further, he speaks up. "Well, this has been eventful and all but Rocky Balboa and I have to go." He walks past them, ignoring the questions and looks from the group as he walks you back to his van. You climb in, sinking onto the well worn seats. The drive is quiet, something by who you assume is Black Sabbath is low on the radio. You lean your head back against the headrest and close your eyes. Now that everything has worn off you're starting to get a headache, as well as a stinging on your lip. You don't want to think about it being busted so you ignore it for now.
Eddie pulls the van up to his trailer, Wayne out on a shift. Once inside, you sit down on the edge of his bed, eyes cast to the ground. The familiar, comforting scent of incense surrounds you. For some reason, you feel like you're in trouble even though you know the last person who should be getting onto you would be Eddie. He gently kneels in front of you, handing you a bag of frozen peas he snagged before joining you in his room. "Here, for your eye." He says softly. You thank him, before pressing it to your face.
"You really didn't need to do that, baby." You look up at him as he speaks. His eyes were dark with concern. You melt slightly under his gaze before replying.
"I know, I'm tired of hearing all the things they say and not doing anything about it. Especially when I know without a doubt you'd do the same if someone said shit about me. It just makes me so mad, I know you told me it would happen, but I'm not just going to sit for the rest of my life and let the town talk about the man I love, ok?" You hold his gaze, willing to defend why you hit that girl even when you know logically it didn't really fix anything. You're surprised when Eddie's worried expression twists into a smile.
"You love me?" He asks, practically beaming. You pale slightly. "I uhh, heat of the moment?" You say weakly, not even convincing yourself. His smile only grows.
"You said the rest of your life. You want to spend the rest of your life with me?" He asks, both hands now gently cradling your face, the bag of peas having been put onto the bed. You stare at him, his eyes swirling with hope and love as you respond.
"Yeah, I would." As soon as you finish speaking, his lips crash against yours in a desperate kiss. Eddie hasn't kissed you like that since, well, ever. Your hands fly up over his as he continues to cradle your face, only breaking away when he eventually needs air. "Say it again, please?"
"I love you, Eddie." You repeat, He sucks in a breath, his eyes closing as he lets the words sink into him.
"I love you too." You smile as he says them back. His eyes flutter back open as he continues. "But leave the fighting to me, I don't like seeing you all beat up. But I will say, that's one of the sexiest things you've ever done."
A sharp gasp cuts through the room as you wake up, another nightmare pulling you from sleep. You sit up, running a hand through your hair as you try to slow your breathing. Nightmares are a part of the job. You're used to them happening, but that doesn't make it any easier when they pull you from your sleep.
With a sigh you swing your legs off the bed, running a hand down your face as you stand. You grab an old hoodie off your desk chair and toss it on before making your way to the kitchen. Your bare feet barely make any noise on the cold floor as you enter, the automatic lights flipping on. You grab a glass, pouring yourself a cup of ice-cold water, hoping it'll help settle the slight tremor in your hands. Normally you can bounce back from the nightmares, but this one seems to stick.
The idea of seeing Bob pops into your mind. Usually he comes to you after he has a nightmare, knocking on your door with a shy look. You two had become close over the past few months. He found your presence comforting and you enjoyed the company. You had noticed feelings quickly bloom when you were around him ,but you tried to push them down, tried to squash the butterflies in your stomach when he would look over at you during meetings. You tried to cool the blush that would crawl up your neck whenever Yelena would nudge you when he walked by, or whenever Walker made a not so subtle jab about being "lovebirds".
Before you even realize how lost in thought you are, you've already knocked on Bob's door. The door cracks open, and a disheveled and sleepy looking Bob looks out at you. He smiles softly. "Hey, you ok?"
You stand frozen for a moment before shaking yourself out of it. Before you can convince yourself otherwise you just say the truth. "I had a nightmare and I don't want to be alone. Can I⊠can I come in?" You know every time Bob knocks on your door you'd never turn him away, but being on the other side of the situation feels vulnerable. Bob nods, stepping back to open the door wider to let you in.
"Yeah of course." He runs a hand through his messy hair, a nervous habit. You walk in and hear him close the door softly behind you. For someone who happened to be good friends with Bob you hadn't ever been in his room. You look around for a moment, taking in the little things that made the room uniquely Bob's. Two bookshelves where against the wall on your left, books scattered across and stacked almost haphazardly. Several Lego sets adorned the shelves in-between the stacks of books, one in the shape of an orchid and another a replica of a T-rex. His blankets were tossed onto one side of his bed as if he had gotten up in a hurry.
"Sorry if I woke you up." You say sheepishly as he moves to stand by you. "Hey it's no problem, really. Can't imagine the amount of times I've woken you up because I can't sleep" He responds with a nervous chuckle. "So uhh, what do you want to do?" He asks as he looks over at you, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Can we just lay down, like we do when you come to my room?" He nods and moves to his bed, sliding in and holding up the covers as he looks at you. You slide in next to him, his scent enveloping you as you pull the blanket over you. You let out a content sigh, Not realizing how tense you were until you relax into the bed. You feel his hand graze your arm, almost hesitantly. Most times when Bob comes to you he ends up cradled in your arms, your chin resting on the top of his head as you stroke his hair.
This time though you feel like the one wanting to be held. You wiggle into his arms, nuzzling your face into his chest as you curl into him. You feel his breath stutter as he lets his arms wrap around you. "Comfy?" He asks quietly, the timber of his voice soothing. You nod, relaxing further into the bed.
"You know, I like nights like this. The nightmares aren't fun but if it means I get to hold you then I'd say it's worth it." He says softly. You pull away from him just enough to look up at his face. "Sorry, if that was weird." A blush works it's way up his face. You smile up at him softly,
"No no, I like it too." You both look at each other for a moment, the weight of practically confessing your feelings hangs in the air. You move forward, giving him a moment to back away, he doesn't. You press your lips to his in a short yet sweet kiss, pulling away to make sure you didn't misread the moment.
Bob's face is red as he looks down at you with a smile. This time he closes the gap, kissing you again with more confidence. You end up pressed together, limbs tangled as you both eventually pull away to take a proper breath. "You should stay here more often." Bob says before kissing the tip of your nose.
I have been a Bucky gal for as long as I can remember but the moment Bob showed up in Thunderbolts my heart was stolen. So here's a Bob x Thunderbolts!Reader. I haven't really written much but I'm trying to get better!
Yelena and you walked into the common room of the tower, chatting about a recent development in the Avengers copyright drama. You two had grown close pretty quickly. You had actually grown close to them all pretty quickly. Going through everyone's trauma rooms together will do that.
You looked over and saw Bob by the window, curled up and lost in the book he was currently reading. A soft smile spread across your face before you could help it, he just looked so calm. Yelena elbowed you with a smirk. "You'll start to drool if you keep looking like that."
You mutter at her to shut up, not wanting anyone to hear. Yelena happened to be the only one aware of your ever-growing crush on Bob, or so you thought. Most of the team had noticed how you stared or spoke softer when he was around, but they just chose to leave you alone about it. Yelena had been the only one to tease you about it so far.
You look back at the group in time to hear Walker sass Alexei. "And what are we going to do? Like ride Bob into the sky?" Before you can even laugh, Yelena mutters, "I bet they'd like to either way."
You feel your face heat up as you whip around to face her. The team looks up in silent shock as you glare at her. "What? I am just saying the truth, just phrased as a joke." Yelena defends as she looks up at you. Walker tips his head back with a laugh as Bucky shakes his head in disbelief.
You turn back to the corner where Bob is sitting, praying he didn't hear. To your horror, your eyes meet his shocked ones as he's already looking at you. You suck in a sharp breath as you turn on your heel, heading to the elevator. Yelena calls out, half apology and half asking you to stay. You ignore her as you step into the elevator and hit the button for the roof.
You step out onto the roof and immediately disappear into the garden. It had become somewhat of a safe space, overgrown slightly and teeming with life. The plants that were first planted here seemed to thrive, leaves and vines spilled over the raised grow boxes and twirled around the arches above the walkway. It was easy to get lost in here, easy to find a quiet path and enjoy the flowers. Your favorite section was towards the back. Through a few winding paths, nestled against the back wall, a grove of honeysuckle climbed up and spilled over the edge.
You plop down on the space you had cleared a few weeks ago, far back in the overgrowth that you couldn't even be seen from the elevator doors. You toss your arm over your face with a groan, lying back against the ground. How were you ever going to speak to Bob again? How could you even go back inside? Yelena definitely needed a stern talking to but you needed to get yourself in check first.
As your mind spiraled in embarrassment you didn't notice the soft call of your name at first. By the time you did notice it was to late to hide. You kept your arm over your face as you heard Bob's soft footsteps round the corner and stop a few feet away. You couldn't bear to look at him as you let out a huff.
You heard a soft rustle of his clothes as he sat down on the ground, leaving you your space but close enough that you knew he was there. "Sorry." You mutter out, the silence too heavy.
Bob let out a soft chuckle at your apology only making your blush worse. "Don't be sorry. Yelena needs to stop making stuff up."
That makes you move your arm to look over at him, "What?" He sighs, looking down at his hands and picking at the edge of the sleeves of his sweater. "She's just picking on me, I'm sorry. I... I don't want her to make you uncomfortable or anything."
You sit up, looking at him in confusion. "You? She was definitely picking on me Bob." You watch as he looks up at you, eyebrows slightly furrowed in confusion. You sigh, shoulders slumping as you decide to just get it over with. "I like you Bob, a lot. Like more than a friend a lot. She's been teasing me about it for weeks. You're a really great friend and I don't want to lose that."
Bob's eyebrows shoot up in surprise, genuinely baffled you could ever think of him as more than a friend. "Really? Me? E-even after all I've done around you?" You nod, looking up at him as you start to ramble.
"You're sweet, thoughtful, you help out and stick around even though this team can be quite the handful. I like how I feel calmer around you, more peaceful. I realized I can actually think of retiring one day, settling down and just enjoying life when I think of being with you."
Bob's smile grows the longer you talk. He eventually interrupts you, unable to hold back his excitement. "I like you too, like more than a friend." You chuckle as he echoes what you said earlier, a blush creeping up your neck once again.
"So... You want go out sometime? Or we can just stay here and watch a movie or something?" He nods enthusiastically as he answers. "Yeah, Yeah absolutly. I'd like that a lot."
You both just look at each other for a moment. The air around you is full of emotion, but not awkward. The setting sun casts the garden in beautiful shades of orange and pink. You scoot over, moving to sit next to him. Your shoulder brushes his as you both look out over the city.
You know it'll be hard, but you're willing to deal with hard if it means getting to be with Bob. After the sun sets you both slip back inside, your hand comfortably intertwined in his. Yelena gives you a knowing smile from the kitchen as you and Bob settle on the couch for that movie.
I miss Avenger tower fics!!! Thunderbolts has reignited the love of those. As much as I hate my own writing to the point of never posting I think I'm going to try and get over myself and write some
I don't feel like there's enough about Taz and this man has me in a choke hold. So here's a Taz fic!
You were a makeup artist on the set of One Piece. You normally did Taz's makeup for Sanji. Today was an early day, hair and makeup followed by a long day of shooting.
Taz walks into the makeup trailer as you're setting your supplies. "Morning love." Taz greets you with a smile. You turn to say good morning and notice he's holding a cup out towards you. You smile and take the cup, it's your go-to order of coffee.
"Taz, you are the actual best." You thank him as you take a sip. "Anything for my favorite makeup artist." He says with a smile as he sits and makes himself comfortable in the chair. You turn back to the counter in front of the chair, you pick up a few things you needed and get to work. You work in comfortable silence for a while, Taz closes his eyes and leans back, letting you work.
"So, what are y'all filming today?" you ask, breaking the silence. He smiles, his eyes remaining closed as you continue to do his makeup. "Just some scenes around the ship and finding the new island. We're supposed to start filming sky island soon." He explains the shoots for the day. It's helpful for you to know so you can touch up his makeup throughout the day.
"Oh sky island! I'm excited to see the sets for that. It's going to be so cool." You say as you finish up his makeup. "Alright, all done! You are now the handsome Sanji." You tease as you step back. Taz opens his eyes and looks up at you. "Thanks for making me so handsome." He stands, stretching his arms above his head. "I'll see you on set, don't miss me too much." He teases with a smirk as he walks away to finish getting changed into Sanjis's costume.
You blush slightly, turning around quickly so he doesn't see before he walks away. You take your time packing some of your makeup supplies and toss it into your bag. You head to set and find a comfy place to sit. You watch them film for a while, Taz performing some excellent fight scenes and Inaki being hilarious as always. You fix Tazs makeup throughout the day as the film.
When they wrap up filming Taz comes over. "Hey! Some of us are going out tonight, just for some fun. I thought it'd be extra fun if you were there." He looks at you with a smile and you feel butterflies in your chest for a moment before responding. "Ya I'd love to! I'll go home and change and meet y'all there. Here hold on." You take his hand and a pen out of your bag, you proceed to write your number on his hand. "There, text me when Y'all head that way!"
He smiles and lets his hand linger in yours for a moment before pulling it away to look at your number scribbled on the back. "Cool, I'm excited your going. See you there!" He gives you a small wave before walking to his trailer to get out of his Sanji costume.
You head back to your place to get ready to hang out with everyone. You have a feeling tonight is going to be fun and that maybe something special might happen.
