i’m pretty sure i was meant to be a farm dog. put me to work and i’ll smile and thank you because i love you and i love to be helpful and i’ll soak up the scraps of affection i get for a job well done and at the end of the day you go inside and i watch you eat dinner with your family from where i’m tied to a stake in the backyard and it’s cold out here but you ruffled my fur a little harder today so maybe tomorrow i’ll be allowed in. but for now i tuck my nose under my paws and hope the sun rises soon.
