Acrylic and gouache on masonite panel. Masonite surface was another painting i cut up and turned into new panels
30 minute drawing calisthenics, acrylic, gouache, graphite and ink on packing paper. Kinda Roman bust and arguably 12 other faces in various states
Thirty minute drawing exercise, acrylic, gouache, graphite and ink on packing paper. Having a time limit to complete the drawing within is different from how i like to work. With no time constraints things are allowed to develop over multiple sittings, knowing that i have to finish the piece within 30 minutes i tend to be more aware of what i want to try within the time available. The projects become less precious and more experimental. I found the work stacks up more quickly and im more excited to get back to the next sesh. Embellished hair as a representation of memories and thoughts
30 minute nonobjective drawing executed in gouache, graphite and ink on packing paper. Larger shapes, at least 13 faces
30 minute drawing exercise yields a bunch of faces and raises a bunch of questions. Its a challenge to distill an open ended process into thirty minutes Acrylic, gouache, graphite and ink on packing paper like 10x12”
Single Can Composition drawing/painting, acrylic on wood panel, 32x48” cocky color combo
Acrylic, graphite and ink on newsprint 18 x24”. When i get into a series of drawings that push against a similar set of parameters they have the tendency to get more complicated as it progresses, i feel like im cheating the surface if it doesnt get more detailed the deeper into the series i go. Distilled form, light movement, angel hair pasta lines and some gold acrylic. Classy. Newsprint is folded for ease of transport.
Acrylic, graphite, and ink on quartered newsprint 18x24” . Underdrawing is a quick full page still life study that i quartered and then worked back into each quarter with a brushpen. Acrylic fills and ruler stunting were the finishing moves
Crustacean/seashell hair w elegant neck wrap executed in graphite and ink on carefully harvested, time-stained endpaper
At least three faces, graphite and ink drawing on 18x24” newsprint quartered for ease of transport.
Brushpen and graphite drawing on newsprint 18x24”. The newsprint started as a still life study and then embellished with brushpen. I fold the paper in quarters for ease of transport but in this drawing the quartered segments have started to serve as a way of developing the paper. Drawing into the quarters individually at first and then integrating separate starting points
Brush pen/graphite freestyle drawing, 18x24”. started with some activating graphite scratches for the loosest of parameters. I added the brushpen over eight 1/2 hr sessions. Paper is folded for ease of transport
Acrylic and graphite drawing/painting on wood 32x48”
Graphite and ink drawing on paper
Acrylic and brushpen on paper, sketch w tape is on gessoed paper
