The boy later revealed, "I have an uncle who is gay. I hate that they hate him."
Over the weekend, thousands of members of Mexico’s “pro-family” hate group Frente Nacional por la Familia took to the streets across the nation to protest the impending passage of marriage equality.
Though these homophobic demonstrators faced their fair share of opposition, perhaps the most powerful moment came at a rally in Celaya, Guanajuato when a 12-year-old boy jumped in front of a crowd of 11,000 protesters.
I could just sit there forever in you lap
Fact #412: Disabled trans people are so underrepresented and undervalued and we honestly deserve so much better.

A black person in #Milwaukee is nearly 9x more likely to be killed by police than a white person. #MilwaukeeUprising
Well California’s in flames, Louisiana is in water, and Milwaukee is in riots. Just pray for this world guys.
Hot Take: it doesn’t really matter what Sylville Smith did or didn’t do.
The black residents of Milwaukee have still been the victims of astronomical police repression day in and day out for their entire lives. The city has been a powder keg, and cops as usual like to play with fire then make a fuss when they get burned.
Before decrying the violence of the protestors how about you look at the violence of everyday life
I really don’t understand why people think “but he was a thug” is a good excuse for police violence. Being “a thug” doesn’t mean someone deserves to be shot to death without a fair trial. Without having the opportunity to attempt to prove their innocence or clear their name.
A criminal needs to be brought to justice, but no matter what someone has done, execution by police should never be the more favorable option.
that’s insane!
‘maybe trans people should stop crucifying cis people who make mistakes’
here’s the thing
i have never, in my life, seen ant trans person jump down someone’s throat, or yell at them, or do anything that could possibly be seen as ‘crucifying’ when they get misgendered
what i usually see is ‘excuse me, sorry, but im actually a boy and use he/him pronouns’
but occasionally, trans people do get fed up (which is totally understandable and valid in their situation) so they might skip the pleasantries and just go for:
‘so i said to him-’
‘them’
‘oh right sorry, i said to them’
at least, that’s what the correct response should be when someone corrects you
unfortunately, more often than not it’s ‘oh my god don’t you know im trying???? you have to understand how hard it is for me to try and change when i’ve known you for so long as something else. cut me a little bit of slack, jeez, stop crucifying me’
and like
trans people have no obligation to be super duper polite, compliant and understanding, especially if you keep making the same simple mistake over and over again and then get defensive when you’re corrected
imagine this in any other situation
‘so i went to safeways yesterday-’
‘morrisons’
‘oh my god don’t you know im trying???? you have to understand how hard it is for me to try and change when i’ve known that supermarket for so long as something else. cut me a little bit of slack, jeez, stop crucifying me’
sounds ridiculous, right?
because if you get something wrong, just say sorry and move on
it’s not a personal attack when a trans person corrects you, and they’re definitely not saying that you’re not putting enough effort in or that it has to be a seamless transition for you
it’s just… well… you made a mistake
and when you make a mistake, people correct you.
teachers have been doing it for years, no one tells them off for ‘crucifying’ students when they hand back essays covered in red ink, because the students recognise that their teacher is right
when a trans person corrects you, they’re just alerting you to your mistake so that you can fix it
so when it happens, thats what you do
say sorry, and then restart your sentence using the right pronouns
eventually, you’ll get the hang of it
tl/dr dont get defensive when a trans person corrects you on their pronouns, it’s not a personal attack, just say sorry and use the right ones
PEOPLE ARE SO CONCERNED ABOUT THIS DOGS MASCULINITY
HES A DOG
no you don’t understand. People freak the fuck out if you don’t enforce human gender roles on dogs. They get fucking belligerent. I work in a pet store and the number of times people have gotten LIVID with me for not just automatically assuming their dog not only required but personally wanted the most stringent enforcement of human gender norms is mindblowing.
People demand dog shampoos that smell “masculine” because “He’s a boy he doesn’t want to smell like flowers” even though he’s a dog and if he had his way he would smell like duck poop. And those shampoos exist! That’s the worst part! There’s enough demand for dog shampoo that smells like Axe body spray that they exist and they sell well.
Or the seemingly nice old lady that shouted “PINK! OBVIOUSLY! SHE’S GIRL SHE HATES OTHER COLORS!” at me when i asked what color harness she wanted for her lapdog. Even though her dog can’t actually see the color pink and does not now and will not ever give a single flying dog fart what color her harness is.
Can confirm! I’m a bather in a dog salon, and I hear customers tell the groomers on a regular basis, “Just make her look like a girl/make him look like a boy.” ???????
And they’re still just as fucking stupid when you force them on your children as well.
SCREAM THIS TO THE WORLD
The first sentence of every novel should be: Trust me, this will take time but there is order here, very faint, very human.

“You’ve got marriage equality, so you’re no longer a marginalized group.”
no offense but if u lose me u fucked up
