Matilda’s Closing Night Curtain Call

I’ve sat beside this magnificent woman almost every day for over three years. Tomorrow is our last day together in Dressing Room 4…I’m overwhelmed and in a state of disbelief. Heather Tepe, you are one of the greatest people I’ve ever known. You have been an unwavering, loving friend to me, have challenged me, have taught me how to be a better human. We have grown up together side by side, and will walk out of the Shubert tomorrow both stronger, more fully formed humans. I love you, Heath, my friend. #godmother

The first gift we received prior to my debut were matching dressing room robes presented by our parents and pictured here, again by @dkabramson. This picture became our Christmas card as the Tinytildas presented our own gifts to the company of @matildabroadway later that year. Matilda strikes a strong stance of fearlessness. As we face the New Year, I wish all merriment, hope, and like Matilda, the courage to firmly plant your feet for what you believe.

A New Year always yields reflection. I’m looking back more than just this year, but to some of my firsts with Matilda as @matildabroadway celebrates it’s lasts. I recently posted about my first time seeing the show, here, @dkabramson captured my first night seeing it from behind the curtain. @brooklynshuck and I trailed @avaulloa in preparation for our debuts. Deb was kind enough to share this photo with us to preserve a moment of our reflecting on the past, the present, and the promise of what’s to come. I’ll be sharing more of these moments as we close the year and this chapter of the unfolding story of @matildathemusical.
