Matilda Musikaali, Tampereen työväenteatteri 2022 Matilda - Alma Järvensivu, Mr W - Jyrki Mänttäri , Mrs W - Anna-Maija Tuokko
Winter school uniform designed by Rob Howell for Matilda in Matilda the Musical, Stratford-upon-Avon, 2010 and London, 2011 Matilda's typical British winter school uniform with its pleated skirt, blazer, felt hat, socks and Start-Rite shoes, has been worn by dozens of girls playing the precocious and tenacious character, and Matilda's appearance in this costume has become an iconic image of the show, featuring on several of its posters and on publicity material. The gift includes all the items of uniform worn by Matilda for school and for the gym session, as well as her plain summer dress with its accessories and shoes. Several of the items were worn by Olivia Cleverley, who played the role on tour and in London. Given to the Victoria and Albert Museum by the Royal Shakespeare Company
This got flagged for adult content. Oh no, not the revolting children!11!
“Ha, they’re re-making Matilda.” “Isn’t it funny how the book got made into a movie that got made into a musical that is made into a movie.” I’m going to have to arm myself with this again to combat the idiots whining about Matilda losing her powers at the end, aren’t I.
Right?? I sorta thought the movie ending was a bit disappointing from that angle (though the movie’s still good).
Yup. I can see how it would be more “hollywood” to let her keep the power all willy-nilly, but people keep being so angry about her losing them in the musical and in the book she is happy about them being gone.
