“ oh no, we’re not a couple. ” she said to the girl who interrupted her lunch date. if there was one word for matilda it was...affectionate, it doesn’t matter if you met five minutes ago or if you’ve been friends your whole life she’s going to hug you or hold your hand and if she likes you enough she might even kiss you. not because she has romantic feelings but just because she loves affection and it doesn’t really matter who she’s getting it from which is why it wasn’t uncommon for people to assume that matilda was dating one of her friends but now her fans were doing it too.

ally’s fingers swirled around her phone, a new letter flashing by everytime her fingers moved. she finished up the last text to her brother before sliding the phone back into her back pocket. her back pressed against her black backpack as she slid her headphones over her ears, absorbing the sounds of the slow r&b beats. her eyes gazed at the sky. she gently hummed to the tune of a song she’d been working on. “i never understood why we’re placed inside this mold. plastic smiles and perfect bodies make for cold souls. it’s just a game, not for….” she paused as a figure approached her. she turned, facing the other. “um…did you..need something?” the brunette questioned, slowly.

“ do you have a light ? ” she asked popping up onto the tips of her toes with a hopeful gin. anyone who knew matilda knew that she never left her house without her weed and most of the time she had at least three lighters in her purse but of course they all decided to die within days of each other.

with her back pressed against the rough brick, tris found herself seated just outside of crowned with the familiar cigarette between her fingers. it was a place she often found herself, typically alone as she went through two or three cigarettes in one sitting. it was tough habit she didn’t really wanna break. inhaling deeply she looked up to blow the smoke as a shadow blocked the sun. “if you wanna give me a lecture i’ve already heard them all.”

“ oh you won’t get any lectures from me. ” pulling a joint from her purse and placing it between her lips. “ i didn’t think anyone else knew about this place.” she mused lighting the paper and took a deep inhale watching as the smoke twisted towards the clear blue sky.
