oh. she absolutely cannot watch this. the secondhand embarrassment is just too much. turning away from the scene in front of her, she subtly looked at the person next to her as she mumbled, " i'm honestly hoping that the ground would just open up right now and swallow us whole. this is just too painful to watch. " // @aurorabaystarter
He should look away, he knew he should but he couldn't. It was almost too painful to watch and he liked a good train wreck every now and then. Thankful Aiyla was here, she always knew how to break the awkward tension. "That would be too kind." He teased, his hands wrapping tighter around his dog's leash. "Come on, no need for either of us to watch this anymore."
Being the new owner of the Shack was easier than he expected, the place basically ran itself, he didn't know why people complained about work so much, it was all going great, it was like living in the hotel again, ordering what he wanted for the kitchen, and not even having to pay for it now.
After getting a beer he returned to his table and smiled when he noticed someone walking in. "Wanna join me for a drink?"
It had been a rather long day, one that Matthew would like to forget and soon. He'd made his way to the shack, one of his favorite spots in town and let out a sigh before he made his way inside. Hearing a voice, he turned towards it and shrugged. His options were to either drink alone or make a friend, so why not? "Sure." He made his way to the bar to grab a drink before returning to the table.
Taking a seat, he let out a sigh of relief and took a sip. "Thanks for the invite."

While Alara didn't have her own shop or anything, her cousin had let her set up a little work studio in his house, which Alara was definitely grateful for. She didn't really have any other way of making income, and there weren't many jobs going for a seamstress. Alara had posted about her services to the community Facebook page that she'd found, as well as making a few little posters to hang around town with her number on them, offering her services for mending and adjusting garments, to full costume creation. Though Alara didn't expect much of that.
Still, she was grateful for any jobs that came her way, brown eyes coming up as she heard footsteps, recognising the person who'd messaged her on Facebook. "Hi. I'm Alara."
Matthew was pretty hopeless when it came to clothes, unfortunate considering his mom had gifted him a pair of pants that were just slightly too long. He'd found Alara online and had been grateful she'd been willing to meet with him. Pants and measurements in hand he made his way to the spot they'd agreed to meet and cleared his throat as he came closer. "Matthew." He nodded as he walked towards her. "Thanks again for doing this. "

Short Bio
Matthew grew up on the weather side of town, his dad being a doctor, and his mom being a nurse. He kind of followed in his parents footsteps - deciding to go into animal care.
Having grown up an only child, Matthew enjoys getting to know people and considers himself a friend to everyone who meets him. He's a lovable guy, if a bit forgetful at times, but it's all part of his charm.
When he graduated college, he left home and adopted Oreo. The two are best of friends. He always finds it enjoyable to come home to his dog after a long day.
Matthew considered himself a bit of a player in high school, having many girlfriends (never at the same time, of course) but that charm has worn off as he's gotten older.
Being an only child meant that Matthew was a bit spoiled growing up, having things handed to him. As an adult, living on his own he's had to grow up a bit faster than he wanted to, realizing that not everything comes easy.
Despite growing up privileged, Matthew doesn't ask for help from his parents. Everything he's done he has done on his own and prides himself on that.
Matthew's dreams are to open his own clinic one day, but it's almost impossible while he's still taking classes between work. He has a need for knowledge and takes night classes so that he can eventually be Dr. Hanover, just like his dad.
