I knew that if anyone would tell me to leave and see the world or whatever, it would be you.

I won’t leave too soon. It’s been so long since we’ve been around children, I want to enjoy it a little bit before I pack my stuff and maybe try to find something on my own. I never believed that you were dead, so how could I give up thinking that we are not the only ones? I don’t do all the bookish stuff like you, using the computer to find clues. I will go where my nose takes me and maybe that’s what I should have done a long, long time ago. But first, I will enjoy having a baby around for a bit!

You know….I look differently at things by now. True, I felt you have given up on us and focused just on her. What I definitely underestimated though was the impact of, well, falling in love. I had no idea. So yes…I was not happy about her. Yet I just by now fully unterstand what I asked from you.

See it as a start? Or motivation? The reason to go on, I guess. Make it all better for the little prince or princess.

I had given up. That’s the worst thing of all. Sure, I looked after our folk, but I forgot about us. I’m not mad at you, for anything. You wanted to do right, by me, our race, the ones we are supposed to protect. Now you can just lay back and let me be the repos… resposi… responsible? The responsible one for once.

I… have no fucking clue. But I will figure it out. Somehow. Maybe I should do some traveling on my own. Once the baby is here and everything is fine and safe.

I have given up this hope before and have been selfish. I think that’s what you called me once with respect to… to /her/. I only thought about the moment and doing what I can do for those that live, not those that might live in the future.

I… should change that. When the reasonable prince is being selfish and living for himself, maybe it’s time for the king to get his fucking ass up and do something for once.
