THE CELLULOID - Eatin’ Pleasure (from THE CELLULOID/MODE MAKER split 7" flexi, Blue Jug, 198?) Not to be confused with the other Japanese CELLULOID (the goth band with the cool Suehiro Maruo cover), this seem to have been a quite short-lived new wave outfit who only appeared on this split flexi with the equally unknown band MODE MAKER. This was released by Blue Jug; a label and music magazine mainly famous for putting out hardcore punk records like the KURO 8" and both the GAI 7" and “Nuclear Addicts” by CONFUSE. On this release however, THE CELLULOID treats us with some suave and spacy new wave. Nothing really super brain rattling or mind melting, but just plain nice stuff - apart from the good songwriting and overall pleasant vibe, the cosmic keyboard sounds in particular elevates this track to overshadowing it’s flipside friend for miles and miles. As far as I know, this most probably came with a copy of the Blue Jug magazine and was never issued with a picture sleeve (at least the handful of copies I’ve seen for sale never had one). No info of course, save that both music and lyrics were written by a Tatsuya Mizunaga - a name that doesn’t ring a bell for me at least (please do let me know if you know about this guy and/or THE CELLULOID). So yeah, in conclusion, just some cool, nice and breezy new wave for this Sunday evening. Hope you’ll enjoy!

Actually it’s THAT Mizunaga Tatsuya of ALLNUDE ))) The one with whom ISSAY formed the band called Hamlet Machine. It’s from 1984 #16 issue of "Blue Jug" magazine. Looks like it’s the very first, and as far as I can judge, the oldest available example of Tatsuyas music and vocals *_*
What a marvelous finding *____* Endless thanks to the one who ripped it for us!!!
