I just loooove the way the addition of theo locks in that role reversal for buck and eddie that we've started to see

one of things about them that I've always found tantalizing is that right when they were both becoming real adults eddie had all this responsibility thrust upon him and buck was set loose to explore the world and himself by making mistakes and being carefree because he didn't have anyone depending on him

(some people think this means buck had it better and I get that but I disagree. there were cons to buck having no one - he was lonely. and pros to eddie being saddled with responsibility- he had purpose and belonging and kinship that buck was missing)

and from the START they were giving each other tastes of the life they'd missed out on, sharing with each other the life they got to have

eddie gave buck people who were relying on him and who he belonged to and trust that he could handle responsibility

and buck gave eddie not just permission to let loose and explore his own inner life, but also a safety net. that if eddie did all that buck was there to catch him and chris, he was okay to relax his hyper responsible self a little to start processing his own identity

and NOW they're fully in each others' shoes. chris is growing up and doesn't need all of eddie so much. and buck has theo

there's a lot of talk about how eddie's experience is gonna mean he can be there for buck for advice and to lean on, but I for one hope they can show buck doing the same for eddie. ok, going to clubs isn't it for eddie, but buck knows how to look for life's simple pleasures and try things and explore and I feel like he can lend eddie that
