After almost a week of projectile vomiting, and extreme bouts of crying, Jeyne was glad when whatever had been wrong with Lia passed. She was still paler than usual, and she did not have the same amount of energy she did before.Dear MayBelle, I think a quilt would be a wonderful idea. It may sound strange, but Lia’s true passion is things for her bed, including pillows, blankets, stuffed animals. She has so much stuff on it, you can hardly see the bed. It’s really funny. She’s not quite back to herself yet, but sure was glad to get MayMay’s letter. She would like to know more about the apple trees.I would like to know about this Harper, and how she’s connected to the apple trees. Ginger had given us permission to go next month while she’s going to be working double shifts and such. (Have I told you that Ginger is a nurse?) Anyway, talk to your parents and see what they say.Oh, on another note, I saw your brother the other day in the castle. Why didn’t you mention he was in Narnia. Do you know that your brother has an uncanny resemblance to this man Peeta who’s in the army? It’s quite strange to look at. Finally, after days of begging and writing one essay as to why Jeyne should come, MayBelle's parents finally said yes. And MayBelle couldn't wait to tell Jeyne.

OH MY ASLAN YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT! THEY SAID YES! THEY ACTUALLY SAID YES! YOU AND LIA CAN COME! AND SAHRINA, IF YOU WANT HER TO COME TOO!! I'm so glad a quilt will be a wonderful idea, because I've already started working on it! I hope she likes it! Harper, well, she's kind of a sprite. But she's really nice! I came across her one day in the woods..... I suppose I strayed too far from the castle.... She told me it wasn't safe. She took me back to the castle though! It was weird.... She even made me feel calm... The apple trees don't have much to do with Harper. She kind of help make a couple of them grow though! Which was super nice of her. I actually didn't know my brother was going to Narnia! Leslie must have dragged him randomly one day. She does that a lot. Takes off on her boat. She loves that thing, so much. I swear, if it could talk..... It would have so many stories! (Jesse told me about Peeta once, but I've never met him or seen him! I find it difficult to picture someone looking exactly like my brother but blonde.... A picture would help. Maybe Jesse will take a picture with him one day for me?) I'm so glad to hear Lia is (for the most part) better! I hope she gets her color and energy back soon! Poor little thing..... Maybe hearing she gets to meet her MayMay will perk her up!

It didn't bother MayBelle at all that they couldn't make it this month. Besides, she still had to get her parents to say yes. She hoped it wouldn't be overly hard, but she was willing to put up a fight. (Not literal fight, though. MayBelle is more towards the pacifist side.) Dear Jeyne, It's fine that you can't make it this month. I still need to get my parents to say yes, anyways. I don't think it will take too much convincing. They might want to talk to you themselves, though. I hope that's okay! Ginger is welcome, too! She can hang out with all of the other moms. They can be kill joys, sometimes. But after all, they mean good, don't they? Poor Rufus. Hopefully he'll stay friendly towards her, assuming he already is. Would it be alright with Ginger if I make a small quilt for Lia, and spray it with the perfume? That way she'll have something warm and soft to snuggle with instead of a perfume bottle. I can (hopefully) even give it to her in person! Things are excellent here! I met this woman named Harper. She's super nice! We even got a row of apple trees that are starting to grow! Jeyne couldn’t help laughing when Lia decided to curl up with the confetti at night. Lia was so obsessed with the smell, that Jeyne had actually had to go out and buy a bottle of the perfume. She was convinced that it smelled like MayMay, which Jeyne wasn’t so sure about, given it was Ayla’s perfume.Dear MayBelle, I hope you start wearing that perfume, because Lia is convinced that it’s what you smell like. We had to go out and buy the perfume for her and everything…now she snuggles with a perfume bottle like a normal kid would snuggle with a stuffed animal. I even took a picture of it. I’ve enclosed it in the envelope. At least she’s finally putting the confetti in it’s box with the rest.I believe I have seen Ayla before (she’s the tall one with the blonde hair, right?) I’m not sure if I’ve ever talked to her, though she sounds really nice, and I could probably give it a chance. Lia makes it very easy to start conversations that I would normally struggle with. I don’t know why, I’m just not really good with other adults. In other news, my birthday is coming up. I’ll be turning 19. Lindsey wants to throw me a party, but I wouldn’t even know who to invite, so I wish she would lose this idea. MayBelle decided it had been a good thing she had went out and bought multiple bottles of Ayla's perfume, on top of the complimentary bottle Ayla had already given her. As soon as MayBelle finished reading the letter, she could hardly contain her excitement. She just had to write down her idea, and send it off quickly back to see what Jeyne thought of it. Dear Jeyne, I'M SORRY I COULDN'T WAIT TILL THE END OF THE LETTER TO GET THIS OUT!! Maybe, just MAYBE, you would want to come here for your birthday! Oh, think of how marvelous it would be! You could bring Lia, and someone else if you want! You could stay at the castle with us! OH PLEASE!! I promise I'll make sure it's okay with my parents if you like the idea!!!!!Okay.....I think I'm calmed down now. I wear the perfume everyday! Mary was spending her afternoon in the kitchen. She had just gotten out everything she needed to prepare to make apple pie. The neighbors, thankfully, were thoughtful enough to give them some spare apples they had left over from their tree. Mary was humming quietly to herself, enjoying what she hoped would be a stress free day when she heard MayBelle screaming for her.

At first, Mary’s heart-rate went through the roof, scared to death that something bad had happened. “MayBelle!” Mary hollered back, as she ran through the door and onto the porch. Her heart-rate quickly started to drop when she realized it was nothing but overexcitement she had heard in her daughters voice. “Oh, MayBelle, sweetie. You scared me half to death!” She exclaimed, with her hand resting gently across her chest.

"What are growing, honey?" She asked, as she kneeled down beside her daughter and gently brushed a couple stray strands behind MayBelle’s ear.

"My flowers, mom! The pink flowers daddy brought home to me! They're actually GROWING!" MayBelle hadn't been so excited about something for a long time. MayBelle was afraid they were gonna die, despite all of the hard work she put into them every day.

"Come look, mommy! Come on!" Excitement could be heard in the little girls voice, as she grabbed onto her mother's hand and gently tugged towards the greenhouse. "It's like magic! It's like they grew overnight, enough to tell there's a difference!" MayBelle was now jumping up and down beside her mother, still urging her towards the green house. "Oh won't you please come and see it!?"

"Mom!" Little MayBelle hollered, as she ran as fast as her small legs could possibly let her go. "MOM!" Doing the exact opposite of what seemed smart, MayBelle started yelling louder the closer she got to the house. "Mommy! Come look! They're growing!" For the past month, MayBelle had been patiently tending to four small, pink flowers her father had brought home for her. At first, MayBelle kept her precious flowers under the work tables. That is, until Jesse told her it would be smarter to keep them in sunlight. Now that they're getting sun and water everyday, they are finally starting to grow. MayBelle couldn't have been any happier.

Jeyne spent another month corresponding with Maybelle. It gave her something to look forward to besides going to the market place or the one day a week that she actually went to work. She was up at the castle a lot. Lia had taken quite a liking to Prince Rilian and they had lots of playdates. Lia also seemed to like Miley’s foster daughter, Emily, but Emily moved much too fast for Lia, and she couldn’t keep up. Dear Maybelle,I’m sorry about your parents not letting you do the play this summer, but hey, maybe Lia and I could come visit you sometime. It’s not like it would be that hard to get some time off. And Lia is still dying to meet MayMay. She stares at your picture all the time. We had to tack it up by her bed. She also seems entranced by your sister, whom she refers to as Jay-Anne.Have I told you about Lia’s new best friend, Rili, or as most people know him, Prince Rilian, Queen Lisnia and King Caspian’s son? He’s a good match for Lia. He’s calm, and laid-back, and has a very good understanding of language. I think he’s giving Lia lessons, haha. But she seems happy to spend her days in the garden with him. I’m glad she has a friend her own age.Things on the Sahrina front are still…..weird. Like we’ve held hands, and I think she likes me back, but it’s almost like nothing else is happening. I don’t know. I feel like we’re in a relationship, but not like an official one, you know? MayBelle had been scheming with some of the sprites and fairies, and together, they had found a way to get some more, different confetti. (Silver and Gold, with textures on it) It was hard to believe MayBelle had been writing Jeyne for a couple of months now. Thankfully, the letters never seemed to get lost at their little castle.

Dear Jeyne, I hope Lia likes this confetti! My friend, Ayla, sprayed some perfume on it that she had made. It smells like floral with sparkling fruity tones on a wooden background. I was truly wonderstruck by the smell, and told Ayla exactly that. And guess what!? She's turned it into a perfume to sell! In honor of my comment, she's even given it the name.... wait for it!!..... WONDERSTRUCK!! Oh, I am so thrilled that she would name it after something I said! That is just so, so nice of her! Have you met Ayla before? She travels to Narnia all the time with Leslie and Jesse..... I love my nickname from Lia. MayMay is just so cute! My love life is still on the dull side, but that's okay. If I were to date right now, I'm afraid my dad would scare him away..... But in a way, that's so sweet and cute of him! Do you like her a lot? Maybe you could make the first move... Give her a kiss or something when she's least expecting it. Surprises are always fun, so I'm sure a surprise kiss would just be amazing! I don't even think it would have to be in a romantic setting either. At least, in my opinion it wouldn't need to be in a romantic setting. It had made MayBelle feel good inside that not only did Lia love the confetti, but also that Jeyne couldn't possibly get yelled at for it. Confetti was one of MayBelle's favorite things, alongside glitter and other sparkly, shiny objects.

Dear Jeyne, Lia is such a cutie! I can't believe that she is actually alive, and not a little doll. It's simply magical isn't it!? Oh, sometime I would just love to see a photo of Sahrina, as well! MayBelle had instantly felt bad when she read that her glitter had given Lia a sneezing fit, but she brightened up when she read that Jeyne had no clue what a play was until she asked. After a bit of brainstorming, MayBelle had finally come up with a new solution to the glitter problem; confetti.

Dear Jeyne, I'm awfully sorry that your sister mom'ed out on you. I hope my solution of confetti doesn't cause any troubles. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed watching the play! What did you go to see? We don't really have plays here on Terebinthia, though the fairies do keep me entertained! Sometimes they like to dance with the soldier fairies, which look nothing like regular fairies. It must be upsetting to see Melody not needing a handmaiden at this moment in time. Maybe you should look for a new job? Even if it is something temporary. Just until you are done with school, at least. As for advice in the line of love, I'm afraid I might not be much help. I'm only a dreamer of love and romance. I'm afraid I've never really been in a relationship. But, according to my mind and gut, and my beliefs in love, I would by all means give it a fair chance. Love gives us many feelings, good and bad. While the bad may hurt, it gives us an incredible feeling that can never be replaced, and will teach us lessons along the way.

It was Tuesday morning when MayBelle had awoken to the gentle shaking of her fathers hands. "MayBelle. MayBelle sweetie. I've got something special for you." He paused, and plastered her face with a bunch of small kisses. By now, Jesse was already up and doing his chores, so it was just MayBelle and their father in their room. MayBelle giggled, as she rolled over and threw her hands over her dads arms. "What is it daddy?" Jess, as usual, had gotten nothing from their father. And, as usual, he had wanted nothing to do with MayBelle that morning, hardly speaking to her at the breakfast table. She also loved (while simultaneously being annoyed by) the glitter that exploded out of the envelopes, though it was partly Jeyne’s fault, since she couldn’t open a letter like a normal human being. But soon, she had really important news to share with MayBelle, instead of just her descriptions of things happening, and her increasing feeling of being left behind by Melody.Dear MayBelle, You are never going to believe what’s happened to me. My sisters are here. The ones locked up in the house with my father? They’re in my apartment. Ginger and Lindsey are actually here! And guess what? Ginger has a three year old daughter. Her name’s Arelia and she’s absolutely beautiful. She has these pretty blue eyes and this gorgeous curly brown hair. She really looks like a porcelain doll. Lindsey is so big now. She’s 17. I haven’t seen her since she was 13. I knew she would have grown, but she’s actually like a woman now, not that she acts like it. MayBelle had had Jeyne as a penpal for about a month now. After her second reply, she had brought up the subject to her parents, and apologized for not asking them in the first place. However, they seemed to be okay with it. Just as Jeyne had seemed to be okay with the constant glitter, that was always changing in color, put into the letters.

Dear Jeyne, It is simply amazing that your sisters are back! Plus finding out that you have a little niece! Miracles truly do happen to everyone! Arelia sounds simply marvelous, and I would love to get to meet her one day! Who knows what she would call me besides MayBelle! Your sisters, they seem nice as well! I would love to get to meet Lindsey as well! I'm sure she would just marvel in all of the places to explore and adventure in here on Terebinthia. There hasn't been much going on here. Jess brought back a pamphlet from the mainland, with all kinds of information in it! It even says there is going to be a play going on this summer! I'm hoping mom and dad will let me spend the summer in Narnia, so I can audition and hopefully star in the play! Have you ever been in a play before? Jeyne couldn’t help but smile when she got the second later almost two weeks later. Apparently, there had been storms out at sea and it had taken more time than usual for mail to get back. This time, the letter actually was addressed to her. She quickly ran inside and began to read.

Dear MayBelle (can I just call you MayBelle?)You’re life sounds plenty fun, surrounded by family who loves you, what more could you ask for. I would love to have my sisters and brother with me again (I have two sisters and a brother). Finally, after what had seemed like months, MayBelle had finally received her reply. She knew her mother had been right, that she would get a letter in return. MayBelle just had herself all worked up that she wouldn't get a reply. This time, MayBelle added a surprise to the letter; glitter!Dear Jeyne (can I just call you Jeyne?)I wouldn't always call it 'fun'. My sisters, you see, have a hard time accepting anyone else in the family. My dad, though, keeps telling me he's going to crack down on them. Mom, on the other hand, tells me it's just because they haven't taken the time to get to know everyone else. But, they've always been this way. Ever since I can remember. It's not as bad, now that I'm older. Because they're older, too, and they're home less. My friend, Ayla, said she'll talk to them for me. Sometimes she's good at persuading people to be better. I think it's because she feels bad about some of her past actions towards people?Oh, the creatures here are marvelous! There are these soldier fairies, and there are sprites of all kind! There's also this giant troll, who kinds looks like a huge human made out of leaves. My brother, Jess, says the troll use to be mean. But she's pretty nice now. She doesn't come out much, she really does blend into the trees! There's also these scary, mean creatures called Sqogres and Hairy Vultures. I've never seen them, but Jess says they're really mean and that I shouldn't go near them. We also have regular fairies, too. They're so cute, and small! It hadn't been quite one week when MayBelle had gotten her reply. It was, honestly, not the reply she was expecting. After MayBelle had finally gotten over her embarrassment-and at least 2 hours time of having her head shoved under her pillow, murmuring about how stupid she had been, she had actually found humor in the situation, and took this mysterious 'Jeyne' up on her offer.

Dear Jeyne Nikole Bryan (your name is quite awesome as well!), Oh dear. I was hoping I had heard the address right from my sisters, but it appears I have not.... In normal situations, I would send my deepest apologies for bothering you. But in this situation, it appears that you are quite welcoming to have an unexpected penpal, to which I dearly thank you. You have a hard time making friends, too? It's totally a bummer, isn't it? I've heard there are many Narnians on the mainland. Is it true? Over here, we have many many different creatures. (It is so amazingly magical to think that MY brother created some of the creatures!) There are a lot of woods over here, too. I haven't got the chance to explore everything, yet. But I do suppose that is what makes living on this island so magical! You get to experience something new every week! Back on my old home, from another world (Spare oom, I believe is what Mr. Tumnus has called it?), I never got to go many places there, either. My family was struggling for money, and we were never able to afford much. Now, I suppose we can! Though we don't want to stray too far from our old lives! Despite the fact that they were on an island, while everyone else seemed to be on the mainland. Heck, even the Burkes had made a lot of new friends here in this world. MayBelle had become good at listening in on her sisters conversations, and soon decided she would write a letter to a miss Lani Hurd, and attempt to make a new friend. The only problem was, she wasn't positive if she had heard the right address for this Lani. That didn't stop her though. She decided she was gonna give it a go anyways.

Dear Lani,

Hi! I know you have received this letter out of utter surprise. You don't exactly know me, but you may have heard of me. That is, if my sisters bothered to acknowledge if I exist around you. Sometimes, they don't. My name is MayBelle Aarons. You know, and are friends with my sisters, as stated above. Brenda and Ellie. They have always been popular, and seemed to make friends quick here in this world. I, however, am not allowed to leave our little island of Terebinthia during the school season. My mom says I need to learn everything I can possibly learn. That makes sense, I suppose. My younger sister, JoyceAnn, is also stuck here. I was hoping maybe we could become... Penpals? And maybe even friends! Please, write back.
