I still hear echoes of derogatory chants from my middle school classmates about Africa, and in recent years have had to answer a plethora of ignorant questions about the worthiness, safety, cleanliness, peacefulness, beauty of the continent; while those same people who asked take jaunts to Europe, Asia and far reaching corners of the globe without second thought. But with each reply, I’ve answered with grace, knowledge and pride. So when Ghana’s President @nakufoaddo asked me what I would do to evolve the image of the country, I knew without a doubt that I could use my marketing acumen that I’ve applied across my 20 year career at Pepsi, Beats, Apple, Uber and Endeavor, combined with the decades of visits to Ghana (with my friends in tow) to make a difference in the perception of the continent. AND WE DID THAT! The #FullCircleFestival was born out of that request, and in the period of one badass holiday trip just this past December, Ghana leapt to the top of the charts in @cnntravel places to visit in 2019!! As we all gear up for the week, and we look around for that sometimes elusive #MondayMotivation, keep in mind that YOU can make a difference. YOU are what it takes. YOU have the power. YOU can do it.
