matt has always been the resident golden boy, always there with a smile on his face and always willing to do the right thing. he doesn't have a big love for the supernatural creatures surrounding him but he can tell who is worth the effort and who isn't. he has had a lot of trauma over his life. he never knew his father, his mother was killed and so was his sister. he is just a boy trying to do the right thing and trying to keep that smile around even though it's incredibly difficult some days.
He remained quiet for a moment, contemplating his response, wishing to appear 'normal'. or of what many would assume. He did not want to attract attention, or show he was somewhat stirred and uncomfortable with his own return. "I imagine it's a difficult task, especially in a town where many seem to be rulebreakers." He chuckled, weakly smiling at the other. "I did, tucked up in bed." He put his hand on his heart, smirking, evident that perhaps he was not speaking the truth.
Matt let out a chuckle and sadly nodded in agreement, "you're not wrong there, I swear everyone was determined to break the rules that night," the cop added with a joking groan of irritation. "Now see your night sounds far better then mine was," with a grin Matt leaned in slightly and focused his attention on the other, "I would have rather be in there then on the roads working."
Grabbing his coffee from his favourite cafe Matt gave a nod to the waitress behind the counter and turned for the door, it was a quiet day on his schedule but he was to spend it patrolling the streets. He had an easy day of driving around for a few more hours before he could call it a day. Walking through the door he stepped outside and turned to his left, he almost swore but held it in a she came face to face with someone he wasn't expecting. "Shit, sorry bout that... uhh Tatia right?" @xvclkyries
"Hey Jessica," Matt called as he walked down the road, a rare smile on his face. Perhaps it was due to the fact that he had a sense of normalcy in his life right now or perhaps it was the fact that he had come to completely ignore everything. Either way Matt was in a good mood and he wasn't going to let anything get him down. @jcssicahamby
Finishing up his paperwork for the day, Matt put all his files away and tucked everything back into his desk before he grabbed his keys and phone. Standing up he gave a stretch before he made his way to the front of the police station. He was determined go home and have a quiet night, maybe even go to bed a little early. It was a good day and nothing could get in his way now. "What can I do for you?" he questioned the other with a small grin, he knew that he should have continued on but something inside his mind told him not to. @corpseveins
Finally coming across Elena felt as if a silent prayer had been answered. He was happy to see his old friend and girlfriend once upon a time. He wouldn't say it out loud but he was getting sick and tired of all these doppelgangers going around, even if Katherine was the worst of them. "Thank god it's you, I swear if I see another person that looks like you I will scream," he rushed out as he pulled Elena into a tight hug. @elenaxgilbert
Thoughts on your sister being turned into a vampire before her death?
"My sister is and was amazing, I don't think about her final moments and what she was or what happened to her. I think about her finding peace that she deserved and not having to deal with any of this shit anymore."
"Despite the fact that she tried to kill me once and then saved my life, Rebekah and I had fun when we were together. We had what you could consider a normal life when we had those few months together before she returned to her family. I honestly don't know what I'd do if presented with that chance, guess it's something that would have to happen before I could give you an honest answer."
"I heard the full moon was eventful, though -- why am I surprised?" He knew most full moons compromised of wrongdoing, the supernatural taking their chances to hurt many of the unknown, his family included. He had no words for the fatalities, knowing there would be more to come in a town such as this. He had no faith in the residents, knowing his family were nearby also caused him further dread.
The police officer glanced over at the new voice and felt his lips curl ever so slightly, "it was eventful especially when making sure everyone was following the curfew that the chief put into place." When everything had come to an end Matt was exhausted and slept the entire next day. "I hope you followed the curfew too."
"Turning what? Turning myself around and going to the middle of freaking no-where where history wont repeat itself? Absolutely! If you mean turning in the way I think you do then absolutely not. No thanks. Please go straight to jail and do not collect $200 as you pass go."
Death knew Matt had no idea who they were . Still , the balance of nature is in utter chaos and she will personally reap the souls of those who die in beacon hills . No more coming back . A decision subject to change . ❝ Feel free to risk that ONLY LIFE you have left ... ❞ unless he turns into a vampire . ❝ I am waiting . ❞
their words made his stomach sink slightly, he toyed with the ring that sat upon his hand. the ring that was given to him from elena and jeremy. the ring that had saved his life so many times. he had never seen the ring fail before, it was always supposed to protect from supernatural death. shrugging off their comment matt felt his brows tug into a frown, "waiting for what?"
❝ Shouldn't you be in the safety of your home ? If you go in there .. you might die , mr. donovan . ❞ KEY WORD - MIGHT . depending on the decisions he makes if he does venture out in the woods , he could live . ❝ this isn't like other full moons ... fried dough ? ❞ the offered , hand stretched out for him to take a couple fried dough balls if he wanted .
"Wouldn't be the first time," he mumbled under his breath before he turned more towards them with a small smile on his face. he had faced death at least four times in his life and he wouldn't be surprised if he came across it again. "ahh but that's the thing isn't it? i might, isn't life about taking a bit of risk?" he questioned out loud not caring for an actual response. "sure i'll take some," he took the offer and sighed, "what are you doing out here?"
There had been some internalised anxiety , at the prospect of returning to her home. It had been a number of years since she lived there, having left with Derek some time ago, so live in South America for her protection. However, Cora could not be contained from returning to where it all began. It almost felt like a magnet of which pulled her to her former home. Perhaps some unmanaged trauma was unbeaten, leaving Cora somewhat defeated. She needed however, to come home, to resume the life she had put on hold and allow herself to grieve what she had lost. The town had changed but still held similarities, nostalgia for Cora upon witnessing. She had unpacked, and made her way to find safe refuge for the full moon. She knew of where they used to go, a cellar in the forest of which the Hale residents owned. She was making her way there when she jumped at the appearance of another. "You scared me half to death." She growled, folding her arms in defence.
He didn't know how long he had been searching for Jeremy or Caroline, hell even someone from the Mikaelson family wouldn't be a bad face to find. In his experiences with things like this numbers were always good to have, having someone at your side was far better than being alone. Licking his lips he shoved his hands in his pockets as he continued his search, yes he had come up empty handed more than he would admit but he wasn't going to give up until he found at least one of them. "Sorry I didn't mean to scare you, I was just looking for someone," he shot back in defence as he held his hands up quickly to show that he meant no harm.
