I’m no gatekeeper so for fellow fans overseas who wanna know how to get Court of Darkness merch, here’s my extensive but not perfect guide.
The best place for finding CoD merch is on Volshop, but you’ll need a proxy to buy from them (I use neokyo). You’ll have to pay the proxy’s purchase fee (¥350 per different item for neokyo. If you’re buying multiple quantities of the same item listing you just pay the single ¥350 for all of them.)
IMPORTANT: Also throughout this process there are also PayPal fees. I personally switch the payment method on PayPal to charge my card in yen as to save money on exchange fees.
When you go ahead with the transaction on Neokyo, you CANNOT cancel the order. So read everything I say here/do your own research and read the proxy rules as well before rushing to buy 67 bromides of Toa.
For Volshop orders you’ll also have to pay domestic shipping which the proxy will charge you AFTER making the purchase on your behalf. Shouldn’t be more than ¥1000 for the smaller items in my experience. The best way to estimate domestic shipping is just add ur stuff to the Volshop basket and enter the prefecture/postcode of the proxy you’re using in the shop check out to get an idea of how much it will be. I recommend if you’re buying multiple of the same item to checkout the quantity in Volshop to see if they have enough stock. (i.e I wanted 6 of those can badges but they only had 5 in stock so I got to know that before making a buy request on Neokyo.)
Of course, DON’T buy the item on Volshop and send it to the proxy address 😭 that’s not how it works.
HOWEVER, I haven’t attempted to buy several different listings on Volshop with a proxy, so I don’t know if you’ll be charged for shipping individually for each item. I think if you put a buy request for multiple items from Volshop and purchase them at the same time you can contact Neokyo’s support to ask about items being ordered together to save on shipping cost. (Do inquire with Neokyo about this BEFORE placing your buy requests)!!
When the stuff arrives at the proxy’s warehouse, you can pack the items together (¥500 packing fee) and pay for international shipping. You can use their shipping calculator to estimate how much international shipping will be. I do advise you DO YOUR RESEARCH on your country’s shipping costs and laws when it comes to customs duties and tariffs, otherwise don’t be crying when you wake up to a $60 tariff added onto your shipping cost because of US tariffs or something.
Also I waited till I rinsed out these Toa can badges before telling y’all this method, sorry not sorry 🫣😝 pls voltage I need thisssss, my itabag kinda badge less 🥹 Alhumdulillah fr fr
They also have preorders up for a new collab which includes cushions of the characters (I don’t like how they look so ima pass on them, hoping one day they’ll release actual plushies of the princes 🙏)
Some other general advice is: I think to save yourself money or make your purchase more worth it, don’t buy just one item and end up spending all these fees and £20 on shipping for a single can badge or keychain, get a bunch of things, you can browse for other merch on places like Mercari JP or something (of course be cautious with second hand places as if anything goes wrong with items not being as expected, neokyo will not compensate you) to make your purchase worth it.
I hope this helps a little. I might buy two different Volshop items on Neokyo to find out how domestic shipping costs will work out there so I’ll update you guys if I do. Sorry for any writing errors my brain is fried from uni coursework.
